Taremi joins Beltran in rejection of Flamengo transfer
According to Sky Sport Italia, it was not just Lucas Beltran who turned down a Flamengo transfer, but Inter striker Mehdi Taremi also rejected the move. As Football Italia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà already confirmed today, the pressure on Fiorentina striker Beltran proved futile, as he has no intention of leaving Europe for a return to South America so soon into this stage of his career. The Viola had accepted the proposal worth €15m plus add-ons, but the player was unimpressed with the destination. Sky Sport Italia claim that the Brazilians made a similar proposal to Inter striker Taremi, but he too is waiting for other alternatives in Europe. The 33-year-old Iran international is not part of Inter's plans for this season, but has a contract to June 2027. There have also been links with Besiktas, Fulham, Botafogo, Leeds United and West Ham United, though nobody seems to have come close to a genuine agreement yet.

There was also no secret that Beltran was not convinced by the idea of leaving Europe so soon after his transfer from River Plate in the summer of 2023, as he would see this as something of a personal defeat to return just two years into his Italian adventure. They even tried promising an improved salary, but it was not enough to sway him. Now it looks as if Flamengo have realised their pressure is just not going to pay off, as Beltran is showing no signs of opening the door to the Brazilians.

Fiorentina set to sign Parma's Simon Sohm
Serie A side Fiorentina are now set to sign Parma midfielder Simon Sohm, who was being pursued for weeks. FirenzeViola report that the deal has been finalised and Sohm was the main target for Fiorentina since June. The transfer will be done for a fee of €15 million this summer and the exchange of documents is expected to be done by the weekend. After that, final agreements will take place and medical will be done. Friday evening has proved key in talks as an agreement was reached between Fiorentina and Parma. It remains to be seen if Fiorentina sign another midfielder, with Nicolo Fagioli still at La Viola and Stefano Pioli considering the idea of using Sohm in an advanced role from next season onwards. They report that Beltran will leave in a deal worth €15 million in total. Sebastiano Esposito is currently part of Inter Milan's senior squad once again. The Italy Under-21 striker had spent last season on loan with Empoli. However, that loan deal came to an end, and the Tuscans did not sign him on a permanent basis. Therefore, Sebastianio Esposito travelled with the Inter squad to the United States for the Club World Cup. He appeared in all four of their matches at the tournament, starting two.
