Kampung Tok Kepak chosen for Madani Adopted Village Programme 2025
ALOR SETAR: The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has included Kampung Tok Kepak in Kodiang as part of the 2025 MADANI Adopted Village Programme (KAM). This initiative supports the government's goal of reducing development disparities between rural and urban areas under the MADANI framework. A total of 15 high-impact projects are being implemented in the village. These include five under KPKT's KAM 2025, four under the BP1 Assistance Programme, two from the Urban Community Development Programme (PPKB), two by the National Landscape Department (JLN), one by the Kedah ICU, and one by the Ministry of Education (MOE). 'These projects focus on both physical and social development, aiming to enhance the quality of life for Kampung Tok Kepak residents, especially in terms of public facilities, economic opportunities, and community empowerment,' the ministry stated. One completed project is the reconstruction of the village community hall, a joint effort by the Department of Local Government (JKT) and the Kubang Pasu Municipal Council (MPKP). The upgraded facility, now called the Kampung Tok Kepak Community Hall, was officially opened on July 19 by KPKT secretary-general Datuk Wira M Noor Azman Taib. He expressed hope that the hall would become a central hub for community activities and be well-maintained by residents. Other ongoing projects include road resurfacing, preschool and mosque upgrades, school improvements, LED streetlight installations, landscaping, and housing repairs for eligible families. The total investment exceeds RM3 million. 'These efforts reflect KPKT's strong commitment to empowering rural communities through balanced, inclusive, and people-centric development,' the ministry added. – Bernama

ALOR SETAR, July 21 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has selected Kampung Tok Kepak in Kodiang as one of the locations for the 2025 MADANI Adopted Village Programme (KAM). In a statement, the ministry said the programme aligns with the government's efforts to narrow the development gap between rural and urban areas under the MADANI aspiration. A total of 15 high-impact projects have been planned and are underway in the village. These include five under KPKT's KAM 2025 initiative, four under the BP1 Assistance Programme, two from the Urban Community Development Programme (PPKB), two by the National Landscape Department (JLN), one by the Kedah ICU, and one by the Ministry of Education (MOE). ESSCOM boosts security and community benefits in Sabah's ESSZone
TAWAU: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) has upheld its dual role of ensuring security and fostering community development in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone) over the past 14 years. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail highlighted ESSCOM's commitment to peace, enabling initiatives like the MADANI Adopted Village Programme in Kampung Inderasabah. Saifuddin noted that ESSCOM allocated RM1 million for infrastructure projects in the village, including physical and non-physical upgrades. The programme, part of a nationwide RM200 million initiative by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, aims to benefit 200 villages, with 12 to 13 under the Home Ministry. ESSCOM CEO Datuk Dr Jamaluddin Mohd Ali explained that Kampung Inderasabah was chosen due to its unique security challenges, eco-tourism potential, and proximity to Indonesian waters. Approved projects include a village entrance gate, pavilion upgrades, a school hall, futsal court, and mosque improvements. Solar street lights, footbridge repairs, and community programmes are also planned. Collaborating with the Tawau Municipal Council and GiatMARA Tawau, ESSCOM ensures timely project completion. Jamaluddin emphasized strengthening ESSCOM-community ties to sustain peace and prosperity in Eastern Sabah. Apas assemblyman Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan praised ESSCOM's long-term partnership with the village in crime prevention and community development. He expressed confidence that the projects would alleviate poverty and enhance infrastructure. - Bernama

PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said in the meeting, all PH component parties agreed to have a timeline in resolving the distribution of their respective seats. 'The meeting also agreed that we will focus on the formation of a strong and stable election machinery. It must happen now, for (waiting until) the State Legislative Assembly is dissolved, will be too late,' he said. He told reporters after officiating the launch of MADANI Adopted Village Programme of the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Pangkalan Abai here today. Saifuddin Nasution, who chaired the meeting, said the discussions also focused on the details of the PH manifesto and he was satisfied with the progress of the negotiations achieved. He also gave an assurance that he would be coming down to Sabah to ensure that all decisions in the PH meeting were implemented. Also present at the meeting were Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) communications director Khalid Abdul Samad, PH Sabah chairman Datuk Ewon Benedick who is also the president of the United Kinabalu Progressive Organisation (UPKO), Sabah PKR State Leadership Council chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, Sabah DAP chairman Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe and Sabah Amanah chairman Datuk Lahirul Latigu.
