Source Says Cowboys Report On Rookie Star Shavon Revel ‘Completely Wrong'

Source Says Cowboys Report On Rookie Star Shavon Revel 'Completely Wrong' originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Dallas Cowboys believe they have a star-quality player and future starter in Day 2 NFL Draft selection Shavon Revel Jr. Advertisement The scouting staff, coaching staff and medical staff at The Star knew full well that when the Cowboys selected East Carolina standout Revel Jr. - whose college career came to an early end after suffering a torn ACL - that rehab would be part of the process. Suddenly, though, it is being suggested that Revel's health status could be in jeopardy, according to a new update from Albert Breer. According to Breer on the latest episode of MMQB, Revel suffered "a little bit of a setback with his knee." Advertisement The problem with the national report? It's false. 'It's completely wrong.' a source close to the situation tells Our source tells us that the 6-3, 195-pound Revel is doing all the things necessary to get ready as quickly and as smartly as possible. And that he is doing so without any sort of 'setback.' Another source wonders if Breer's reference is to the pre-draft injury itself … though that was hardly a 'little bit of a setback.' (Breer is now claiming that's exactly what he meant.) If Revel can return to his pre-injury form as viewed by the Cowboys scouting department he could jump into a lead role alongside DaRon Bland.
