File Photo by David Silpa/UPI | License Photo July 22 (UPI) -- Celebrities are mourning the loss of Cosby Show icon Malcolm-Jamal Warner Warner, best known for playing Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, died Sunday while vacationing with his family in Costa Rica. He was 54. Tracee Ellis Ross, who starred with Warner on Read Between the Lines, shared a tribute to her "first TV husband" on Instagram Monday. "I love you, Malcom. First I met you as Theo with the rest of the world, then you were my first TV husband. My heart is so, so sad. What an actor and friend you were: warm, gentle, present, kind, thoughtful, deep, funny, elegant," she said. "You made the world a brighter place," she continued. "Sending so much love to your family. I'm so sorry for this unimaginable loss." Courtney B. Vance, who starred with Warner in The Tuskegee Airmen, also offered his condolences on Instagram. "Rest in eternal peace, my good brother," he said. "We will always remember you! To Malcolm's mother, wife and family -- you have our deepest condolences." Angela Bassett, who starred with Warner in American Horror Story: Freak Show and 9-1-1, described her former co-star as a "special soul." "When a special soul like Malcolm Jamal-Warner leaves us far too soon, words fail to adequately describe the unimaginable grief," she said on Instagram. "Malcolm was more than a gifted actor. He was a longtime friend. When I met him, he was a star on the show that was TV royalty -- The Cosby Show. He warmly embraced me as a working actor who was trying to find my way." "Even in his youth, Malcolm's empathy, quiet strength and his bright light surrounded us all. Then to have the opportunity to work with him again last year on 9-11 was a memorable full-circle moment for us both," she continued. "In this life, Malcolm is what's known as a soulful artist whose deep commitment to his craft left an impression on me that has never faded. He carried the weight of cultural legacy with grace, and he always made space for others to shine." Yvette Nicole Brown, who worked with Warner when he guest starred on Community, said she is devastated by the actor's death. "I don't have the words right now so I am repurposing these beautiful ones from my dear friend, who I adored," she said. "This video is a glimpse of the love he would share just randomly. To have him as a friend was a blessing from God. He was one of one." The video shows the late actor talking about becoming the reason for someone else to smile. Sherri Shepherd, who co-starred with Warner on her series Sherri, wrote about what it was like to work with him. "He brought much laughter and gravitas playing my husband on my self-titled sitcom," she said. "He also made two appearances on my talk show Sherri, most recently in April to promote his series Alert: Missing Persons Unit. As someone who grew up on TV, Malcolm remained one of the most grounded people I've ever met in our business." "To know Malcolm was to know a renaissance man that possessed humor, grace, humility and deep cultural appreciation," she continued. Cosby Show co-creator and star Bill Cosby, who has been accused of sexual assault by dozens of women, said in a statement through his rep that news of Warner's death was as devastating to him as learning of the 1997 murder of his son Ennis Cosby.

Maya Jama looks happier than ever as she shares romantic snap with Man City ace Ruben Dias
Love Island's Maya Jama looked the picture of happiness as she shared a snap of her and her Manchester City boyfriend Ruben Dias as they holiday on the party island of Ibiza Earlier this year Maya Jama took the major step of going Instagram official with the new man in her life, Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias. And it looks as though things have been going from strength to strength over recent months, if her latest post is anything to go by. Maya took time out of her filming duties to spend quality time with Ruben on the party island of Ibiza. In one snap, Maya is seen cuddled into Ruben laughing coyly. Meanwhile, Ruben placed his head down towards her in a loving embrace. In other pictures, Maya is seen riding a bike along with landscape views of the magical island. Maya captioned the post saying: "la isla de la magia." And fans could not wait to comment. One person wrote: "Winning at life." And a host of other fans post love heart emojis. But this is not the first time Maya has posted holiday snaps of the pair. Back in January was the first time the TV presenter posted loved up snaps of the pair while on holiday. Speculation over Maya dating Ruben first started to circulate on News Year's Eve in December last year. And this came after the pair bumped into each other at the MTV Europe Music Awards, in Manchester in November. And this came just few months after her second public split with rapper Stormzy. Maya and the rapper first started dating in 2014 and their relationship lasted five years before their first break-up. But on reflection on what ultimately led to their split, Maya said in an interview: "We were so young when we met, just beginning our careers. I was starting at MTV. He'd not even released a single at that point. We were just little babies." She added: "I don't think either of us knew it was going to be such a big thing. We were just: we're young and in love and we're going to go for it and work really hard. We're just together. We never really did red carpets. We didn't do any of that stuff." At the time Stormzy had even hinted that marriage was on the cards during an interview in 2018 with the Sunday Mirror. He said at the time: "I'm still so young but I want to propose, it's going to happen and I will do it right. She is so sick, she is the best." Years later, the pair reunited and tried for a second time to make their relationship work but to no avail. Sadly, thew couple called time on their romance in July 2024. Sharing a joint statement, it read: "We tried and it didn't work and that's okay."

Oasis legend Noel Gallagher praises Glasgow bakery
Bavarian Bakehouse, which was crowned Wholesale Baker of the Year in 2023, has been serving the city for decades with its selection of freshly baked goods, and the former Oasis songwriter is a huge fan. It's not just the public who are fans of the Glasgow bakery, however, as former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has praised their "soup rolls". (Image: Supplied) READ MORE: Glasgow college launches Oasis masterclass ahead of reunion tour He reportedly declared Bavarian's sourdough rolls were the best he'd ever tasted at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards at Kelvingrove Art Gallery. Kathleen McShane, managing director of Bavarian Bakehouse, said"During the dinner, Noel kept asking for more of our soup rolls. "He said they were the best he had ever tasted, and the chefs even gave him some to take home with him in a doggy bag." The Bavarian Bakehouse has come a long way since its inception in 1984. Established by German master baker and merchant seaman Karl Wichman, the business was later purchased by former accountant Kathleen McShane more than 14 years ago. READ MORE: I am four-years-old and this is how I am part of the Oasis tour (Image: Supplied) She relocated the factory from Kirkintilloch to its current 4000 square feet premises in 2017, establishing it as a multi-million pound turnover business with a team of 30 skilled staff members. Despite its growth, the bakery has maintained its commitment to traditional baking methods, providing Glasgow and beyond with sourdough, pretzels, cakes, pastries, and traybakes. The bakery has become a popular choice for supplying high-profile events like the Commonwealth Games, the Open Golf at Royal Troon, and even the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards at Kelvingrove Art Gallery. Every week, the bakery produces over 35,000 items using its starter sourdough, which is as old as the bakery itself. READ MORE: Celtic release special Oasis-themed magazine amid iconic band's reunion Reflecting on the bakery's success, Kathleen said: "It's been incredible to watch how the bakery has grown from humble beginnings to supplying some of Glasgow's most renowned venues. "We've stayed true to the original principles of using traditional, handcrafted techniques, and that's resonated with our clients. "The reason we're still around is because we've never stopped evolving. There's a growing appetite for food made properly, and I think people are becoming wise to how bad supermarket bread really is for you. "We need more space so we can continue to give the same care and attention we've always given to our products as demand grows."

The couple's relationship is going from strength to strength and now he has headed to the holiday resort for a swanky dinner. Maya captured herself travelling in a car before she danced around to a tune on the radio in the passenger seat. She looked glam for her night out, styling her raven locks into waves and opting for fresh make up, with statement earrings to accessorise. In the swanky restaurant, she captured a server chopping up steak tartre and wrote in her caption: "Only just got into this raw s***. "Still bugs me out." Another slide then saw her about to tuck into a more well-done steak, served up with tomatoes and chips. Their happy night came after the first beauty booted out from the 2025 ITV2 matchmaking series came to light, in what was a busy night for Maya. The Love Island anchor and Ruben were spotted for the first time together in public on New Year's Eve, when they shared another romantic dinner. A source at the time said: 'Maya and Ruben swapped details at the EMAs and have chatted since, but things went up a gear in early December. Love Island 'reveals' first bombshell as Maya Jama gets special message from new Islander in surprise twist 'When Ruben got injured and had to miss the congested new year fixtures, he jumped at the chance to see in 2025 with Maya in Spain. ROMEO RUBEN Ruben is no stranger to romantic displays. In April, Maya returned home to a bouquet of roses following a recent holiday. Maya added no caption to the image slide, simply holding the red blooms up to the camera. And it's not the first time she's been treated to an impressive floral selection as back in January, the former Radio 1 DJ showcased another selection of roses with fans claiming "they're from Ruben." NEXT STEPS The Sun was recently first to report how the loved-up pair were getting serious, and had taken their relationship to the next level. A source said: 'Maya and Rúben are getting more serious and she has met his mum Bernadette. 'She is very happy and in a great place in her personal life and her career. "It's shaping up to be a very exciting year for Maya.' She also shared her first picture with her footballer man as they enjoyed a pre Love Island break in Italy. Earlier in the week, Maya uploaded a short clip and wrote: "perv cam," as Ruben could be seen rubbing sun tan lotion on his body while in swimming shorts. Recently, it was also revealed Maya has started taking Portuguese lessons. Speaking about her take on relationships previously, Maya said: 'I'm such a lover but I am a big leaver as well. 'I know what makes me happy and I know what I like — and this is no disrespect to anyone I've been in a relationship with, but if it's not that then I will leave it. 'I only want you if you are going to add to that or make it better, otherwise I am not really on it.' 7 They also tucked into steak tartare Credit: Instagram 7 Maya has cut a glam figure on the current Love Island season Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 7 The pair recently shared their first picture together Credit: Instagram
