This result marked a disappointing follow-up to their bronze-medal finish in the mixed pair event at the previous World Cup leg in Shanghai. The recurve mixed team fared even worse. Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara were knocked out in the opening round, losing 2-6 to Kazakhstan in a closely contested four-setter (38-40, 41-37, 37-38, 39-40). The Indian archers seemed to struggle with the new scoring rule implemented at this stage. Starting with the Antalya leg, the 'X' ring, the innermost circle, now counts as 11 points, increasing the perfect score per round (three arrows) from 30 to 33. Earlier on Thursday, India also crashed out of the team events in both the recurve and compound sections. With their team events campaign ending in disappointment, India will now look to the recurve individual events starting on Saturday. All eyes will be on former world youth champion Parth Salunkhe and seasoned campaigner Deepika Kumari, both of whom returned with bronze medals from Shanghai last month. Among other Indian women in the fray, Chikitha Taniparthi was the next best at 11th, while multiple World Cup gold medallist Jyothi Surekha Vennam had a modest outing, ending 19th in the rankings. In the men's compound category, India secured fifth place in the team event. Rishabh Yadav was the best among the Indian trio in individual qualification, finishing 13th, while veteran Abhishek and reigning world champion Ojas Deotale were placed 29th and 34th respectively. The recurve events saw a mixed day for India. In the men's qualification round, Dhiraj Bommadevara was placed 13th, Atanu Das was 15th, and Parth Salunkhe, who won a bronze at the previous World Cup stage, ended 26th as the team ended with a fifth ranking. The Indian women's recurve archers, however, struggled. Former world No. 1 Deepika Kumari finished 35th, while Ankita Bhakat (33rd) was the best-placed Indian. However, the 24-year-old displayed incredible poise under pressure, dropping just one point in an almost perfect fourth end to tie the match at 110-110. In the final round, she held her nerve, delivering two perfect 10s - both X-ring shots - and a 9 to edge out Krahe by a single point in a nail-biting finish. This gold marked Madhura's third medal of the tournament, following a silver in the women's team event and a bronze in the compound mixed team event with Abhishek Verma - a remarkable comeback to international archery after a three-year hiatus. It was India's fourth medal in the Archery World Cup Stage 2 following a gold in the men's compound team event, silver in the women's team event and bronze in the mixed team competition. The men's team - Abhishek Verma, Ojas Deotale, and Rishabh Yadav - clinched the gold with a composed and consistent display, defeating Mexico 232-228 in the final. They defeated Denmark 232-231 in a tight semifinal.
