Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday (August 17, 2025) declared that there will be a 'Dravidian Model 2.0' to take the State to newer heights in the upcoming 2026 elections. Launching an instant crop loan scheme under the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) on a pilot basis in Dharmapuri, Mr. Stalin said, 'The next government will yet again be the Dravidian-model government. Dravidian Model 2.0 will come back to take the State to new heights.' 'The BJP-led Union Government's own statistics have debunked the various allegations levelled against Tamil Nadu by the Governor (in his I-Day eve customary address). Today, Tamil Nadu is a trendsetter for the various schemes introduced here and now emulated by other States,' the Chief Minister said. Listing out his government's flagship schemes for women, Mr. Stalin said the best emissaries for those schemes were the beneficiaries themselves and there were numerous naysayers (AIADMK) who said the Vidiyal Payam would eventually mean a reduction in the number of bus services and a hike in bus tariffs. 'But my first sign was on costless bus rides for women, which we saw not as an expenditure but as an investment in women. Similarly, the Magalir Urimai Thittam has enabled women to save close to ₹50,000 since its inception,' according to Mr. Stalin. The Chief Minister also launched a blistering attack on Governor R.N. Ravi and alleged the latter peddled fear and anxiety to malign the DMK government. 'There is a person sitting in Governor's bungalow, whose 'cheap politics' surpasses that of the Opposition. He sits there and mocks Dravidian Model, the Dravidian language, and cooks up a non-existent Thirukkural. It is for all these reasons, I say, Governor should remain in Tamil Nadu; his presence and his constant assault on our way of living will ensure our love for our culture and language doesn't fizzle out,' he said. This was launched at Balajangamanahalli Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society in Adhiyamankottai in Dharmapuri. Launched as a pilot scheme through select PACS, the scheme would eventually be rolled out across the State. Mr. Stalin issued cheques to 5 beneficiaries unveiling the Scheme. The Chief Minister also unveiled various completed projects and launched the commencement of new development works on the occasion.

TN CM to launch ‘Ungaludan Stalin' govt camps on July 15
Women who were left out from the monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 (Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam) could submit their applications at the camps. About 10,000 camps would be held across the state, and the Chief Minister will inaugurate the programme in Chidambaram on July 15. Chennai, Jul 5 (PTI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin will launch 'Ungaludan Stalin' (Stalin with you) camps on July 15 to provide government services to the people in their areas, the state government informed on Saturday. These public grievance redressal camps would be held till November end, an official release here said. A total of 3,768 camps would be held in urban areas and 6,232 in rural areas in the state. The members of the public could submit applications to avail 43 services provided by 13 government departments in urban areas. About 46 services offered by 15 government departments would be considered in the rural areas, the release said. Decisions on the applications received from the people would be made within 45 days. Volunteers will assist the people at their doorsteps. Medical camps would also be conducted as part of the 'Ungaludan Stalin' initiative. DMK allies' demand for more seats to be resolved through talks, says T.N. CM Stalin
DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said the 'demand of alliance partners for more seats' would be resolved through discussions once the Assembly election date is announced. Speaking to reporters during the launch of 'Tamil Nadu Under One Front' at Anna Arivalayam on Tuesday (July 1, 2025), he said new parties could join the DMK alliance under the current circumstances. 'When the situation arises, we will sit together and hold talks to include them,' he said, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister and Youth Wing leader Udhayanidhi Stalin. He said the DMK have been fully prepared for the elections for a long time. 'We have a goal of winning 200 seats. I hope we will exceed that number,' the Chief Minister said. When asked about Union Home Minister Amit Shah's statement in Madurai that he would visit Tamil Nadu more frequently, Mr. Stalin said both Mr. Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi should visit the State more often. 'They have the habit of uttering lies during their visits to Tamil Nadu, and the people are aware of it. It will work in our favour during the elections. They should also not replace the Governor (R.N. Ravi), as he has caused more harm than good. He cannot win over the people, even if he tries to do something positive,' he said. Regarding AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami's plan to begin a public outreach campaign from July 7, Mr. Stalin said the DMK had launched its programme long ago, and the Opposition leader was beginning only now. He said the Tamil Nadu Under One Front initiative would cover both the election campaign and the DMK's membership drive. 'We will also explain to the people the achievements of the DMK government,' he said. When asked whether he would visit Mr. Palaniswami's house during the campaign, the Chief Minister said it would depend on the circumstances. 'We have shared responsibilities across the party. Depending on the situation, others may visit. If I happen to be in the area, I will certainly visit his house,' he said. Top schemes Mr. Stalin highlighted the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme, Magalir Urimai Thittam, and Magalir Vidiyal Payanam Scheme as the top three schemes of the DMK government. 'We have completed 60% of the Magalir Urimai Thittam. Many forms were not filled properly, so we plan to organise a camp in September,' he said. The Chief Minister said the DMK aimed to enroll 30% of people in each constituency as party members. 'But in many places, our party leaders have promised to enroll 40% of the people,' he said. Though the DMK's outreach includes engaging with members of the Opposition, Mr. Stalin emphasised that the party would not force anyone to join. 'We will leave it to them,' he said. When asked about alleged wrongdoings by officials, particularly in custodial deaths, the Chief Minister said the government takes action whenever such issues are brought to its attention. 'Even today, we have taken action against (police) officials,' he said.
