Woodland vines curl up onto the ceiling. A velvet curtain sways in the corner, hiding a miniature stage. There are climbing rocks disguised as mossy boulders, brass knobs shaped like mushrooms and snails, and a soft, golden light that makes the whole room feel like it's been dipped in whimsy. This is the exact feeling Joanna Gaines just recreated in her latest Mini Reni makeover: a storybook playroom that channels all the magic of Narnia. The moment you pass through the secret bookcase door, you're transported into a space that feels enchanted, immersive and undeniably luxe. The new Magnolia Network series (airing Wednesdays at 8/7c on Magnolia and Max) trades whole-home renovations for deeply personal, single-room transformations—often designed for friends or team members. And in this episode, Jo leans all the way into fantasy, with every detail more charming than the last. Want to know which buzzy products are *really* worth buying? Courtesy of Magnolia Network Step through the bookcase and you're instantly transported to a playroom with warm layers of texture and charm. 'This arched door, flanked by corresponding shelves, served as the inspiration for the rest of the space,' Jo explains in her Magnolia journal. Rather than contrast it, she leaned all the way in, painting the ceiling, walls, and cabinetry in Sherwin-Williams's Jute Brown (Satin Finish). 'A simple paint refresh helped highlight the original beauty of the arched trimwork, molding, and planked ceiling while staying within budget,' she adds. The result? Immersive and cocooning without feeling dark—a clever way to add depth while letting the architecture do the talking. Courtesy of Magnolia Network Then there's the bay window. Instead of leaving it as-is, she turned it into a multifunctional stage-slash-bench, complete with scalloped trim, pull-out drawers and a blue houndstooth cushion that feels pulled from a Wes Anderson set. 'The homeowners' children love performing, so the team added a large cushion that can be easily removed—converting the seat to a stage,' she explains. 'To lean into the theatre feel, we added light blue velvet curtains across a brass rod—perfect for putting on a play!' Not to mention the opposite wall, which highlights a custom interactive panel with colored pegs and a rock wall that would make any Pinterest parent swoon. 'To help foster creativity and curiosity, we added a wooden interactive wall—complete with colored pegs for pattern-making and rocks for climbing,' Jo notes. Courtesy of Magnolia Network The rest of the space is filled with woodland whimsy: arched cabinets with mushroom- and snail-shaped hardware, botanical art in vintage frames, leafy potted plants and C.F.A. Voysey wallpaper that wraps up onto the ceiling like a storybook scene. 'During the process, we discovered that this particular [wallpaper] print is actually a restoration of one of C.F.A. Voysey's most elaborate patterns.' Even the adjacent closet-turned-toy room was given the full treatment, complete with striped wallpaper, scalloped trim and wooden cubbies that make cleaning up feel like part of the play. She explains, 'We chose a light-blue, vertical-striped wallpaper to help elongate the small nook and installed more scalloped picture rail where the wall and ceiling meet.' Courtesy of Magnolia Network All in all, she summarizes, 'I absolutely love how this space turned out. There are so many layers of story and detail within this tiny room that you could discover something new every time you step inside. Even though we created this space for a [longtime friend and her three kids], I hope it's a room that inspires the whole family to savor the magic of childlike wonder for years to come.' Joanna Gaines has Fans Emotional Over Proud Mama Moment with Daughter Ella

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Joanna Gaines has been celebrating some pretty big milestones in her family over the past month, especially with her oldest daughter Ella. In fact, she recently shared a big proud mom moment on Instagram that even had her followers getting emotional. Because time passes so fast with kids, it can be tough to keep up. The Magnolia Network star took to social media on Sunday to share her "proud" moment with 18-year-old daughter Ella; her high school graduation. Ella is the second of the Gaines children to graduate high school, following 20-year-old son Drake who graduated two years ago. The mom of five is really in her feelings about this big milestone, sharing several emotional Instagram posts about her kids leaving the nest. The first post included her 6-year-old son Crew checking out the nest of a mother songbird with the poignant message, "Praying for all you mamas who are planning and prepping for graduation. We did our very best. They will soar. May we hold gratitude for all that was and carry hope for all that's to come." Now the big day has arrived. And Joanna Gaines shared a sweet video of Ella's graduation, from her daughter in a cap and gown (and chic red heels) to the football stadium where the event was held, to that final hug between mom and daughter afterwards. "So very proud," Gaines captioned the post. Fans were quick to share their own congratulations with the family, writing messages like, "They have grown up fast! Right before our eyes! Wow! Congratulations, to the Gaines family and all graduates!" and "Congratulations! I can't believe it, I got chills. I've been watching since the very beginning when all the kids were so young. Wishing all the best in all future endeavors." Gaines went on to share another post about her "fun, busy graduation weekend," noting that she found it "so hard to believe we'll have two kids in college this August" as she spent time picking flowers in her garden, being followed around by little ducklings. It's definitely a time of change for young Ella, who hilariously broke her dad Chip Gaines' curfew rule on her recent prom night. Chip Gaines admitted he went to bed early that night while Joanna Gaines waited up for her daughter until the wee hours of the morning. Such is the life of a mom with a kid about to leave the nest. Sure, Ella might be interning with her mom at Magnolia these days, but she'll be headed off to college in August. And Joanna Gaines is clearly just soaking up all of those precious moments with her until she goes. Chip Gaines Reveals What Time Daughter Ella Got Home From Prom—and the One Rule He Gave Her Before the Big Night

Chip Gaines has opened up about daughter Ella's prom night—revealing that the teenager had such a good time at the event, she didn't return home to their Waco, TX, farmhouse until the 'wee hours of the next morning.' The Magnolia Network founder, 50, spoke out about his 18-year-old daughter's milestone moment during an interview with the 'Today' show. Ella broke the one rule that he and wife Joanna Gaines implemented: that she had to be home by midnight, he said. The father of five noted that his daughter was less than impressed when he and Joanna, 47, informed her of the curfew, revealing that she responded with a drawn-out 'Whaaaattt?' 'When I was a kid, midnight was really late,' he continued. 'I thought that would have given her plenty of time to do everything she'd want to do at prom, but apparently, it wasn't enough.' Luckily for Ella, he fell asleep before she arrived home, Chip confessed on 'Today.' 'She blew past that [curfew], but what do you do? What do you do with this 18-year-old human being that is now legally an adult? She could serve in the Army if she had to, and here I am explaining that she has to be back at 12 o'clock,' he added. While he was fast asleep, Joanna made sure to stay up until Ella returned to their picture-perfect property, he said. 'Jo is extremely thoughtful in that way, and I guess I'm a little bit too lazy,' he admitted. When asked about what Ella donned on the special night, he joked that he was the 'wrong guy' for style inquires. 'There was a dress for sure, and she had a pair of shoes on. In regard to the color or pattern … I'm going to have to text Jo,' he teased. Meanwhile, Joanna put together floral arrangements for Ella and their other children, Duke, 16, and Emmie, 15, who also attended the dance. 'That was so sweet,' Chip said of his wife's hard work that went into making their children's night perfect. The couple, who tied the knot in 2003 and rose to fame through their hit show 'Fixer Upper,' have five children, including Drake, 20, and Crew, 6. Drake is currently pursuing a degree in business entrepreneurship at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. Ella, who just finished her senior year of high school, is looking at options beyond Texas. 'We can't wait for her to decide. Ella has thought about Korea. She's thought about sunny Southern California. She's not going to be in the Central Texas area when she goes on to her next chapter. 'She seems excited to be able to spread her wings and do something very unique and outside the bubble,' Chip revealed. His 'engaged and thoughtful' daughter wants to study digital design, said the proud dad. 'With Drake, we needed to send him to college to teach him basic survival skills, like how to do laundry,' Chip joked. 'Ella is on the exact opposite end of the spectrum. It feels like we're sending this young lady off to become the next president of the United States. It's very 'The sky's the limit' with Ella.' He also told the outlet that Crew most resembles him, adding that 'anything is possible' when it comes to the 6-year-old. Ella's fun-filled prom night comes after Joanna announced the launch of a new series, 'Mini Reni,' which would see her going it alone, without any on-screen support from her spouse. She revealed she relished the 'freedom' that the project has given her, less than one year after she admitted the 'chaos' in her life had grown so difficult to manage, she needed to take a step back from their popular Magnolia Network. 'What I love about 'Mini Reni' is the freedom to go all-in on just one or two smaller spaces. 'These aren't whole-house renovations, so the heart behind the show is to inspire people to design their home gradually and thoughtfully, so that instead of having to wrap your mind around the million details that go into a bigger renovation, you can enjoy the process of creating beauty by narrowing in, flexing your creativity, and embracing the small details that really tell your story,' she said in a press NFL Owner Wants To Build Nearly 500 Homes on an Untouched Mountaintop—but Some Say It's Not Safe Pope Leo XIV's $199K Childhood Home Is Swiftly Taken Off Market Hours After Conclave When Owner Realized He Could 'Make a Larger Profit' 'I Went To Stay at The Villages To See If All The Wild Rumors About the Retirement Community Are True'

'Maine Cabin Masters' star Matt 'Dixie' Dix's wife Ginna Dix dead at 48

Ginna Dix, the wife of "Maine Cabin Masters" star Matt "Dixie" Dix, has died. She was 48. The Magnolia Network show announced Ginna's death in an Instagram post shared on the "Maine Cabin Masters" official account Wednesday. "We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Ginna Dix on February 1, 2025," the caption said. "Beloved wife of Dixie, God Daughter to Ryan's parents, and friend to so many. Ginna was a huge part of the Maine Cabin Masters family and will be missed tremendously. "We thank you all for your love and support, but ask that you give the Maine Cabin Masters team privacy at this time." The post included a slideshow featuring photos of Ginna captured at different moments in her life, from childhood snaps to images of her younger years with Dixie to more recent pictures of the couple with their dogs. According to an obituary published on Ginna died unexpectedly at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, with her family by her side. No cause of death was provided. Ginna, who hailed from Sidney, Maine, was a nursing student at St. Anselm College in Goffstown, New Hampshire, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2000. That same year, she met Dixie, and the two tied the knot Sept. 22, 2001. Ginna and Dixie shared three children, Michael, Lindsey and Kiley. After graduating from St. Anselm College, Ginna landed her first job as a nurse at Pine Tree Camp in Rome, Maine. For many years, she worked as a registered nurse at a hospital and then a cancer care center in Maine before pursuing her master's in nursing degree at Indiana's Purdue University, where she graduated in 2018. Following graduation, she returned to Maine and became a nurse practitioner at the Harold Alfond Center and MaineHealth Franklin Memorial Hospital. "Ginna loved spending time at their home in Rangeley with her husband and their three dogs, Quimby, Dodge and Asher," her obituary said. "Ginna found joy in spending time at the beach in the summer and snowmobiling through the woods in the winter. "She was happiest when she was 'up to camp' surrounded by her family and friends, listening to music, and drinking a glass of Prosecco on Saturday mornings. She was often found sitting quietly on the couch with her dogs, a strong cup of coffee and reading a book." Dixie's "Cabin Masters" costar Ryan Eldridge, a lifelong friend of the pair, shared a tribute to Ginna on Instagram. He posted a throwback photo of himself with Ginna along with another image that was taken during their childhood. "We were born on the same day two years apart, our parents were best friends, you married my best friend," Eldridge wrote. Eldridge said Ginna "should have been my little sister for 11 years" before his younger sibling Kali was born, but noted that she was "too damn tough and strong willed for that." The reality star said Ginna "could be one of the boys riding around inside the house on bicycles on Iron Mine Hill and at that same time be the powerful, no nonsense women you came to be." "I will never forget that time I whacked you with a tennis racket, you calmly gave me a look that I'll never forget as you weren't phased and knew I was screwed as you calmly walked back to tell our parents," he recalled. Eldridge shared that he was "there the night you and Matty locked eyes and were dancing on the countertops." "You have been a big part of my life since day one and left this world way to soon, but you sure did make a mark in your short time," he added. "I love you Gin!" "Main Cabin Masters" made its debut on the Magnolia Network, which was then known as the DIY Network before it was purchased by Chip and Joanna Gaines. The series follows carpenters Dixie, Eldridge and Jared "Jedi" Baker, along with contractor Chase Morrill, his designer sister and Eldridge's wife, Ashley Morrill, as they renovate and restore cabins in Maine. The 10th season of "Maine Cabin Masters" premiered Dec. 30, 2024.
