Imagine stepping through a hidden bookcase into another world. Woodland vines curl up onto the ceiling. A velvet curtain sways in the corner, hiding a miniature stage. There are climbing rocks disguised as mossy boulders, brass knobs shaped like mushrooms and snails, and a soft, golden light that makes the whole room feel like it's been dipped in whimsy.
This is the exact feeling Joanna Gaines just recreated in her latest Mini Reni makeover: a storybook playroom that channels all the magic of Narnia. The moment you pass through the secret bookcase door, you're transported into a space that feels enchanted, immersive and undeniably luxe. The new Magnolia Network series (airing Wednesdays at 8/7c on Magnolia and Max) trades whole-home renovations for deeply personal, single-room transformations—often designed for friends or team members. And in this episode, Jo leans all the way into fantasy, with every detail more charming than the last.

Step through the bookcase and you're instantly transported to a playroom with warm layers of texture and charm. 'This arched door, flanked by corresponding shelves, served as the inspiration for the rest of the space,' Jo explains in her Magnolia journal. Rather than contrast it, she leaned all the way in, painting the ceiling, walls, and cabinetry in Sherwin-Williams's Jute Brown (Satin Finish). 'A simple paint refresh helped highlight the original beauty of the arched trimwork, molding, and planked ceiling while staying within budget,' she adds. The result? Immersive and cocooning without feeling dark—a clever way to add depth while letting the architecture do the talking.

Then there's the bay window. Instead of leaving it as-is, she turned it into a multifunctional stage-slash-bench, complete with scalloped trim, pull-out drawers and a blue houndstooth cushion that feels pulled from a Wes Anderson set. 'The homeowners' children love performing, so the team added a large cushion that can be easily removed—converting the seat to a stage,' she explains. 'To lean into the theatre feel, we added light blue velvet curtains across a brass rod—perfect for putting on a play!' Not to mention the opposite wall, which highlights a custom interactive panel with colored pegs and a rock wall that would make any Pinterest parent swoon. 'To help foster creativity and curiosity, we added a wooden interactive wall—complete with colored pegs for pattern-making and rocks for climbing,' Jo notes.

The rest of the space is filled with woodland whimsy: arched cabinets with mushroom- and snail-shaped hardware, botanical art in vintage frames, leafy potted plants and C.F.A. Voysey wallpaper that wraps up onto the ceiling like a storybook scene. 'During the process, we discovered that this particular [wallpaper] print is actually a restoration of one of C.F.A. Voysey's most elaborate patterns.' Even the adjacent closet-turned-toy room was given the full treatment, complete with striped wallpaper, scalloped trim and wooden cubbies that make cleaning up feel like part of the play. She explains, 'We chose a light-blue, vertical-striped wallpaper to help elongate the small nook and installed more scalloped picture rail where the wall and ceiling meet.'

All in all, she summarizes, 'I absolutely love how this space turned out. There are so many layers of story and detail within this tiny room that you could discover something new every time you step inside. Even though we created this space for a [longtime friend and her three kids], I hope it's a room that inspires the whole family to savor the magic of childlike wonder for years to come.'
So below, find three staples from this look to bring a touch of Narnia into your own kid's playroom.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's Upcoming Wedding: What We Know So Far
Wedding bells are in the air for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. In May 2023, the Amazon founder popped the question to Sánchez while the pair were vacationing in Europe. 'When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit,' she told Vogue in November 2023 while recalling the proposal. As the couple geared up for wedding planning, Bezos weighed in on whether he would be involved in the process. 'Oh, God, no. Do I look that dumb?' he quipped to Vogue. 'We're still thinking about the wedding, what it's going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas?' Sánchez said at the time. 'We don't know yet. We've only been engaged five months!' Scroll down to see everything to know about Bezos and Sánchez's upcoming wedding: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's Intimate Las Vegas Wedding: Everything to Know About the Guests, Dresses and More Nearly two years after Bezos and Sánchez's engagement, Page Six reported in March 2025 that the pair sent out their wedding invitations. The outlet previously reported that the couple would be saying 'I do' in June 2025. Bezos and Sánchez are reportedly exchanging vows in Venice, Italy. In March 2025, Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro confirmed that the twosome would be getting hitched in the city. "The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos' wedding are completely unfounded,' the mayor wrote in a statement obtained by People, noting that the guests would not cause disruptions to the city. 'We are mutually working and supporting the organizers, to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city.' In February 2025, Page Six reported that the couple would be getting married on Bezos' $500 million yacht, Koru. Justin Theroux and Nicole Brydon Bloom Share Details About Their 'Wonderful' Mexico Wedding For Sánchez, taking Bezos' name after marriage is a no-brainer. 'Uh, yes, 100 percent,' she told Vogue in November 2023. 'I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos.' Sánchez's older brother, Paul, gushed to TMZ in March 2025 that he is 'thrilled beyond belief' and did not have exact details about where the wedding would be located. However, Paul said that he suspected the celebration to be similar to Princess Diana's 1981 nuptials with King Charles III. "I think it's gonna be, like, a Princess Di thing," Paul told the outlet. "Just huge and fun, and just a blast." In November 2024, Sánchez gave insight into her wedding planning process. 'I have to say, I do have a Pinterest,' Sánchez joked during an appearance on Today. 'I'm just like every other bride.'

Pinterest Signs on to Sponsor the New York Liberty to Expand its Sports Linkage
This story was originally published on Social Media Today. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Social Media Today newsletter. Sports engagement is a key driver of social media discussion, though you likely wouldn't presume that sports would play a big role in Pinterest, which is mostly focused on fashion and design-based content. Yet, as Meta signs new sports partnerships, and X integrates gameday activations, Pinterest is also looking to dip into sports engagement, through a new sponsorship deal with the New York Liberty of the WNBA. As explained by Pinterest: 'For the first time, Pinterest is stepping into the sports arena as an official partner of 2024 WNBA Champion, New York Liberty. Together, the Liberty and Pinterest will inspire fans and celebrate women's sports through exclusive content, in-game experiences and community outreach, all reflecting the energy of New York and its iconic team.' And while it may not be an immediately logical connection, it will help to improve Pinterest's branding, through on-court signage and expanded display. Pinterest also notes that broader interest in the Liberty, and the WNBA in general, is rising in the app. 'Searches for 'WNBA aesthetic' and 'New York Liberty' are up 1,295% and 216%, respectively, while Liberty athletes are also redefining what it means to be professional women athletes, and Pinterest shares that spirit by offering fans a platform to explore their identities and draw inspiration from the team.' Indeed, Pinterest reports that a range of WNBA-related searches are steadily rising in the app. Pinterest says that, aside from general branding and sponsorship, it will also be partnering with the Liberty on initiatives for National Girls and Women in Sports Day, while it'll also be refurbishing basketball backboards at local courts in New York. It's an interesting partnership, and an interesting consideration for sports-related marketers, considering the growth of sports-related engagement in the app. Of course, a lot of that is an extension of the sport, in looking at WNBA-related style as well. But that's a part of the broader sports as entertainment package, and that could present new opportunities for your marketing efforts. Sign in to access your portfolio

Fairhope and Daphne hit by 80 mph winds as surprise storm downs trees across Baldwin County
FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — The sound of chainsaws replaced the sound of howling winds that reached gusts of up to 80 miles an hour storming through the Rock Creek neighborhood in Fairhope Thursday morning. Termite season is among us, Gulf Coast — here's how to get rid of them 'I got the weather alert, and I looked outside and it started getting really dark, and I went back to the bathroom and took my dog with me,' said Macy Powell as the storm approached. It only took a couple of minutes for the squall line to pass through the neighborhood. 'Honestly, it sounded like a million trees were falling down in the moment,' added Powell. There were trees on houses, trees just missing houses. 'The neighbors were here and they told me it sounded like a locomotive going through the neighborhood,' said Dee Niette Thompson, who had a tree on her roof. 'The doors were actually banging. It was bad, it was really bad.' It was a close call for a lot of neighbors, like Darlene Prudhomme, now dealing with a demolished Magnolia tree. 'I heard it, that's what scared me. I looked over that way and I didn't see any hole in my roof.' In Old Towne Daphne, trees that couldn't stand up to the wind were quickly cleared by city crews after a severe storm that took a lot of folks by surprise. 'It's going to take us a while to get this place cleaned up again,' Thompson said. Todd and Julie Chrisley have been released from federal prison There were damage reports scattered throughout Baldwin County, but so far, no reports of anyone injured.
