Who are next in line for 'big' Scottish rugby jobs?
BBC Sport Scotland rugby reporter Andy Burke has been answering some of your questions after Gregor Townsend announced his summer Pacific Tour asked: What has Magnus Bradbury done to Gregor Townsend? He was the stand-out forward for Edinburgh in the latter part of the season and must be miffed to miss out on the tour. Having said that, it will give his body a rest for the coming answered: Bradbury finished the season very strongly and was a key player in Edinburgh's upward curve towards the end of the told us on this week's Scotland Rugby Podcast that Bradbury was in the mix for the summer tour, but was ruled out due to a personal issue rather than down to form. Whether he would have made the final cut, we'll never know.I thought Bradbury might have been in there. Likewise Hamish Watson and possibly Freddie Douglas, but Townsend said he hoped at least one Scottish back-row – most likely Jamie Ritchie or Rory Darge – might have made the Lions squad and the fact they didn't means competition is fierce in the Scotland asked: Should Franco Smith replace Townsend next year? I think Scotland need change but will we find out Gregor is exceeding our squad capability or holding us back? If Franco were to move to Scotland head coach who could replace him at Glasgow? John Dalziel would be my favourite for the role. I think he deserves the opportunity and has done well in previous roles in the SRU and realistically we will not be going after a big answered: This whole situation around the big coaching jobs in Scottish rugby is both fascinating and Smith is clearly considering his options right now. If it's the Scotland job he's after, he's got at least another year to wait until the expiry of Gregor Townsend's after the next Six Nations we are looking at another "what might have been" campaign, I think at that stage it would time for a new approach and Smith would be the obvious not to say a new coach is suddenly going to transform Scotland into winners. Ireland and France have better squads while England look to have turned a corner. No matter who's in charge, Scotland are going to be up against it to win a that scenario does come to pass and Smith replaces Townsend, I suspect Glasgow will look to an internal candidate to step up and and I agree that Scotland forwards coach Dalziel would be the leading worked his way up through the Scottish system, is well liked and respected by the players and will gain invaluable experience alongside Andy Farrell on this summer's Lions tour.

'That's what happens when we get it right'
Magnus Bradbury, Edinburgh's captain against Ulster on Friday night, spoke about his team's "tunnel vision" and "steely focus" in the critical win that took them into the URC knockouts as well as securing a place in the Champions Cup next season. Bradbury scored two of Edinburgh's seven tries in a powerhouse performance that also featured a hat-trick from Darcy Graham and an all-action display from Hamish Watson that conjured up memories of the flanker at his Test match best. "That's what happens when you get it right," said Bradbury, who is in fine form having fallen out of the international picture in recent times. Bradbury's inconsistency has held him back over the years, something he's at a loss to explain now that he's firing on all cylinders. "Mate, if I could tell you what it was, I'd answer a lot of questions for coaches. I'm playing well now because I'm just enjoying my rugby. "I'm enjoying being back here at Edinburgh. I'm enjoying coming to work each day. I wake up in the morning, and I can't wait to come and see the boys. I can't wait to come and improve. We talk about, it's a cliche and I hate to say it, but that 1% better every day." The back-row praised the veteran Watson for his outstanding finish to the season. "He's always been quality in my eyes," Bradbury added. "I think there's a bit of a stereotype around, once you reach a certain age. You're rubbish, essentially. I think that's unfair in this day and age. "There's a lot of top-flight rugby players that are over 30 still playing brilliant rugby. And I think Mish is an example of that. With Mish you know what you're getting each week. "I love playing with these guys. That's a big reason I came back. I love playing with Mish. I love playing with Jamie [Ritchie]. I love playing with [Ben] Muncaster."

URC: Edinburgh secure top-eight finish with crushing win over Ulster
'That's how we want to play' - Everitt FT Edinburgh 47-17 Ulster Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt tells Premier Sports: "It's been a pressure night. "Proud the boys put in the performance they put in, especially in the second half. That's how we want to play the game. "You get momentum when you're playing well and that's what's happening for us. "Every time [Darcy Graham] puts on a rugby jersey he tends to produce something from nothing. He's a real magician out there. It was disappointing for him [to miss out on Lions selection], but there could be injuries and he's the next one in. "[Magnus Bradbury] was outstanding tonight. Every time he carried, he made ground."

Seven-try Edinburgh crush Ulster to seal play-off spot
United Rugby Championship: Edinburgh v UlsterEdinburgh (19) 47Tries: Graham 3, Bradbury 2, Ashman, Shoeman Cons: Thompson 4, Healy 2 Ulster (12) 17Tries: Kok, Penalty, Postlethwaite Darcy Graham's hat-trick and Magnus Bradbury's double helped Edinburgh secure a place in the last eight of the URC as they swept to a bonus-point win over Ulster in the Scottish loss to the Stormers earlier in the evening meant that a four-try victory was the target for the hosts. They scored ran in three of the four they needed in the first half. Graham, Bradbury and Ewan Ashman scored for the home side but a penalty try and a gift to Werner Kok made it a seven-point game at the outstanding Bradbury got his second after the interval and with it came that critical bonus-point score early in the second Schoeman went over for a fifth in what was a terrific performance on a high-pressure night. Even when Jude Postlethwaite ran in a spectacular score from his own 22, Graham responded then the little genius struck again at the end. If the Lions happen to be looking for another wing anytime soon, they need look no victory means that Jamie Ritchie, a lifelong Edinburgh player exiting for France, hasn't yet played his last game for his club. His last home game, for sure, but there's still life left in this season for his team. A frenetic opening saw Edinburgh blow two big chances from close-range lineouts only to recover and cut Ulster open soon after, Graham being the man doing the Goosen put the wing through a gap and ran all the way to the posts at a packed Hive Stadium. Nice start for the home team needing a bonus point win to make the knockouts. Not so nice for Ulster, who were only playing for it got better soon after as they turned the screw. Another close-range lineout but this time they executed, Bradbury blasting his way through what was left of the Ulster a lead of 12-0 and all the momentum, Edinburgh then got hit between the eyes by Ulster's response. The visitors got a penalty try when Graham, in an attempt at cutting out what would have been a try-scoring pass to Zac Ward, deliberately was sent to the bin for his troubles. He was only in there a few minutes when Ulster levelled through Kok, who picked up and crashed over after Wes Goosen failed to deal with a routine chip home team regained the initiative in quick order. From another lineout inside the Ulster 22, Ashman went like the clappers and thundered over. Ross Thompson converted and the gap was Graham yellow card spell finished 7-5 to Edinburgh and Sean Everitt's team were a step closer to the last eight. As long as they won, which is rarely easy for Edinburgh with their propensity for was no such vulnerability this time. Edinburgh began the new half powerfully. When Hamish Watson, playing wonderfully, whipped Nathan Doak into touch near his own line, Edinburgh had the attacking platform they took a few attempts but Bradbury eventually put them into bonus point land after a tap and drive near the posts. Thompson's conversion stretched the lead out to added a fifth just before the hour, the Lion barrelling over from a few metres. Thompson converted. Postlethwaite struck and Graham turned one try into three in quick order. Relief and delight at the Hive. Line-ups Edinburgh: Goosen, Graham, Currie, Lang, Paterson, Thompson, Price; Shoeman, Ashman, Rae, Sykes, Skinner, Munaster, Watson, Harrison, Venter, Sebastian, Young, Ritchie, Shiel, Healy, Lowry; Kok, Postlethwaite, McCloskey, Stockdale; Murphy, Doak; Warwick, Herring, O'Toole; Treadwell, Henderson (capt); Izuchukwu, Timoney, Stewart, Reid, Wilson, Sheridan, McNabney, Shanahan, Morgan, Craig Evans
