Patrick Mahomes Sr discovers fate of special Kansas City Chiefs request amid DWI probation
Sr has received the green light from a judge to watch his son's first preseason game for the Kansas City Chiefs next month. The father of the superstar Chiefs quarterback must get permission to leave Texas following his DWI arrest last year, having cut a plea deal with prosecutors for five years' probation with 'intense' supervision for the first 12 months. And according to TMZ Sports, on July 17 Mahomes Sr requested to attend Kansas City's preseason game against the Cardinals in Arizona on August 9, a request which was granted on July 22. The 54-year-old said he will be in Arizona from August 8-10 and plans to stay at a Glendale-area hotel throughout. He also promised to follow the conditions of his probation while on the trip, which includes submitting a urinalysis test upon his return to Texas. Mahomes Sr was previously arrested for driving while intoxicated in 2008 and 2019, and last year was also banned from driving after being found on the roads without a valid license. He spent 10 days in jail before cutting the plea deal. He has previously been given a judge's permission to attend an autograph show in Minnesota and his son's charity golf event in Las Vegas back in May. The former baseball pitcher was also allowed to head to New Orleans in February to watch his son line up in yet another Super Bowl, which ended in defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles. There could well be more requests on the way with the Chiefs set to begin the 2025 NFL season in September, although he will be into the second year of his probation by that point. Mahomes has two other preseason fixtures to come next month, with the second coming away to the Seattle Seahawks on August 15. The Chiefs, who are seeking redemption after their Super Bowl crushing at the hands of the Eagles, then return to Arrowhead Stadium to face the Chicago Bears on August 22. They begin the new NFL season against the Los Angeles Charges in Brazil on September 5, before a rematch with the Eagles takes place in Kansas City on September 14. Road trips to the New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars, as well as a home clash against the Baltimore Ravens, make up their first five games of the campaign.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. given special permission by cops to fly to Las Vegas for his son's star-studded golf event
The father of Patrick Mahomes has been given special dispensation by the authorities to fly to Las Vegas for his son's star-studded golf event, as he continues to deal with the fallout of his DWI arrest. Mahomes Sr has been arrested multiple times for driving while intoxicated, and as part of his plea agreement from the most recent incident, he has to ask permission every time he wishes to leave the state of Texas. TMZ report that the ex-MLB star put in his latest painstaking travel request at the start of the month, and was given the green light on May 7 to travel this week. The Chiefs quarterback's charity golf event - titled The Patrick Mahomes 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Vegas Golf Classic - started on Wednesday and runs through Friday. Patrick and Brittany are expected to be in Vegas for the star-studded event, while special guests are also likely - with Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift both joining their friends for the 2024 edition. The golf will take place at Shadow Creek Golf Club, and Mahomes Sr has told the authorities he will be in Sin City until Sunday. When he gets back to Texas, the 54-year-old former pitcher will have to submit a urine sample to cops. He previously had to go through the same process in March, when he traveled to Minnesota for an autograph show. Mahomes Sr was recently in the news after he agreed to fight John Rocker at Barstool's 'Rough N Rowdy', but the event was canceled before the pair had even begun to start training. In the aftermath, it was claimed that Mahomes Sr's daughter-in-law Brittany, wife of Patrick, was reported to be behind the shutdown. Clearly disgruntled, Rocker took aim at the family with a slew of angry words. 'Today is the day I was supposed to fight Pat Mahomes Sr.,' the former MLB pitcher wrote on X. 'Instead of fighting today he backed out like a little bitch because his son and his loser wife decided it'd be a bad look to the family name for him to get in the ring.'
