Patrick Mahomes Sr. given special permission by cops to fly to Las Vegas for his son's star-studded golf event

Daily Mail15-05-2025

The father of Patrick Mahomes has been given special dispensation by the authorities to fly to Las Vegas for his son's star-studded golf event, as he continues to deal with the fallout of his DWI arrest.
Mahomes Sr has been arrested multiple times for driving while intoxicated, and as part of his plea agreement from the most recent incident, he has to ask permission every time he wishes to leave the state of Texas.
TMZ report that the ex-MLB star put in his latest painstaking travel request at the start of the month, and was given the green light on May 7 to travel this week.
The Chiefs quarterback's charity golf event - titled The Patrick Mahomes 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Vegas Golf Classic - started on Wednesday and runs through Friday.
Patrick and Brittany are expected to be in Vegas for the star-studded event, while special guests are also likely - with Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift both joining their friends for the 2024 edition.
The golf will take place at Shadow Creek Golf Club, and Mahomes Sr has told the authorities he will be in Sin City until Sunday.
When he gets back to Texas, the 54-year-old former pitcher will have to submit a urine sample to cops.
He previously had to go through the same process in March, when he traveled to Minnesota for an autograph show.
Mahomes Sr was recently in the news after he agreed to fight John Rocker at Barstool's 'Rough N Rowdy', but the event was canceled before the pair had even begun to start training.
In the aftermath, it was claimed that Mahomes Sr's daughter-in-law Brittany, wife of Patrick, was reported to be behind the shutdown.
Clearly disgruntled, Rocker took aim at the family with a slew of angry words.
'Today is the day I was supposed to fight Pat Mahomes Sr.,' the former MLB pitcher wrote on X. 'Instead of fighting today he backed out like a little bitch because his son and his loser wife decided it'd be a bad look to the family name for him to get in the ring.'

Diamondbacks hold off Braves for 3rd straight win

June 5 - Merrill Kelly allowed only one hit over seven scoreless innings and the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks held on to defeat the Atlanta Braves 2-1 on Wednesday for their third straight win. Kelly (6-2) allowed one walk and struck out eight. He did not allow a base runner until Marcell Ozuna walked to lead off the fifth inning. Atlanta's first hit came with two out in the sixth on a line drive single by Ronald Acuna Jr. Arizona has won the first two games of the three-game set and takes a 3-2 edge in the season series. The Braves have lost three in a row. Atlanta starter Chris Sale (3-4) worked six innings and allowed one run on three hits, four walks and 10 strikeouts -- giving him 2,510 for his career and passing Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson for 39th on the all-time strikeout list. The first two batters reached against reliever Ryan Thompson, but he struck out Drake Baldwin before being lifted for closer Justin Martinez. He fanned Michael Harris II on three pitches, intentionally walked Ronald Acuna Jr., and struck out Austin Riley to end the inning. Martinez allowed a run in the ninth, walking Baldwin with the bases loaded, but ended the game by striking out Harris to earn his fifth save. Four of Martinez' five outs were strikeouts. Atlanta reliever Daysbel Hernandez had to leave the game in the eighth with a blister on his right hand. The start of the game was delayed by an hour and six minutes because of rain. --Field Level Media

Disgraced NFL star Greg Hardy arrested for assaulting a family member

Greg Hardy, the former NFL defensive end who became a UFC fighter, was arrested in Texas on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a family member. According to TMZ, Hardy will remain behind bars until Thursday morning, when he will see a judge and bond is expected to be set. The 36-year-old Hardy was convicted in July 2014 of assaulting and threatening a woman who contended the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder threw her in a bathtub and onto a sofa covered with guns before threatening to kill her. He appealed, and prosecutors in North Carolina eventually dismissed domestic violence charges in February 2015, saying the accuser in the case couldn't be found. The court heard the woman had reached a civil settlement with Hardy. He was also arrested on a cocaine possession charge in Dallas in 2016.
