Gujarat: Gir-Somnath district court gets hoax bomb threat
The district court in Veraval of Gir-Somnath district of Gujarat on Monday received a bomb threat, which police said turned out to be a hoax.
SP Manoharsinh Jadeja told The Indian Express that the bomb threat was received on the official email ID of the court on Monday morning, following which the court administration alerted the police.
The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) along with the Dog Squad and Veraval police evacuated the court premises and conducted a thorough inspection of the entire area. However, no explosives or dangerous material were found in the court premises.
About the email, SP Jadeja said, 'One line in Gujarati said that an RDX device had been planted in the court premises. While there was no reasoning given for the same, the threat appears to have been motivated by some local issue in Tamil Nadu. The Cyber Crime Cell is investigating the matter.'
This comes days after bomb threats were received by the Gujarat High Court and the Rajkot district court on June 24, when a school in Vadodara also received a threat.
