Tottenham: Manor Solomon hopes of dream Leeds return dealt blow
Manor Solomon's hopes of returning to Leeds United face a new obstacle as Leeds believe they have an opportunity to sign the AC Milan forward Noah Okafor. Standard Sport understands that Solomon wishes to return to Leeds this summer. Tottenham would be willing to sell Solomon this summer if a suitable offer arrives. The Israel international is not part of new manager Thomas Frank's plans. The 26-year-old winger last played for Spurs in September 2023, before suffering a serious knee injury and then spending last season on loan with Leeds in the Championship. Sololon impressed at Elland Road, scoring ten goals in 41 matches - including the stoppage-time winner against Plymouth that secured the title. A decision was taken during the pre-season tour that Solomon would again be allowed to leave Spurs, either on loan or through a permanent exit. But while a return to Leeds has been touted and is Solomon's preference, it is understood the Yorkshire club hold genuine interest in Okafor, and that a move for the highly-rated Switzerland international could hamper Solomon's chances of re-joining Leeds. Okafor spent the second half of last season on loan at Napoli but played only four times for the Serie A champions. Spurs are looking to further strengthen their attack despite plans to move Solomon on. They are interested in Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze as well as Manchester City youngster Savinho. In June, Leeds had a bid of £32million including add-ons for Rodrigo Muniz rejected by Fulham.

Leeds transfer news: Dream window as ex-Premier League striker and £25m star join
Leeds have splashed out nearly £80million on seven fresh faces ahead of their return to the Premier League - but there is always room for new recruits, with boss Daniel Farke in the market for a forward. Farke learned just how difficult the English top-flight can be when his Norwich City side were relegated in 2020 and will want to leave no stone unturned ahead of his quest for survival with Leeds. Farke took the reins at Leeds in 2023 and has since overseen two remarkable seasons, culminating in the Whites' return to the Premier League after a two-year hiatus. Leeds will kick-start their season against Everton at Elland Road next week, and a solid start on home turf would undoubtedly be the perfect way to kick off the campaign. Here we examine potential further additions to aid Leeds' Premier League survival bid. £46m deal paves the way for new forward Leeds reaped the benefits of Joel Piroe's goal-scoring prowess last season, with his 19 goals earning him the Championship golden boot. However, the forward is yet to prove himself in the Premier League. With Farke sidelining Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt, his attacking options are limited, leaving Piroe supported by young Harry Gray. However, the imminent departure of Darwin Nunez from Liverpool, who have agreed to a £46m plus add-ons deal with Al-Hilal, could pave the way for Leeds to entice Aleksander Mitrovic back to England. The Serbian has been with the Saudi Pro League side for three years, but rumours suggest the club might be willing to part ways with the 30-year-old, possibly due to the expected arrival of the Uruguayan. Mitrovic, who netted 38 Premier League goals during his eight-year stint in English football with Newcastle and Fulham, would provide Farke with a proven goal scorer familiar with the relegation battle pressures. Triggering £24.5m release clause Enhancing their attacking prowess appears to be a key focus of Farke's transfer strategy, with Leicester City's creative midfielder Bilal El Khannouss reportedly on his radar. Despite experiencing relegation in his debut season of English football last term with the Foxes finishing 18th, the 21-year-old Moroccan impressed potential buyers with his flair and forward-driving ability. Leeds seem to be leading the race for his signature this month. If they manage to secure a deal for the young talent, they'll need to activate his reported £24.5m release clause, which is set to expire next Friday, just three days before their season opener against the Toffees. Challenge in replacing Manor Solomon Manor Solomon was a key player in Farke's system last season, netting 10 goals and providing 12 assists, helping Leeds United clinch the Championship title. However, this season they'll be without his services as the winger has returned to Tottenham after his loan spell. There are whispers of a reunion, with reports suggesting Spurs might accept less than £20m for the Israeli star. If that doesn't pan out, Leeds have reportedly set their sights on Fiorentina's Riccardo Sottil. A bid for the Italian would put Leeds in a bidding war, with Tutto Mercato reporting that Torino and Sassuolo are also keen on signing Sottil.

Leeds confirm Junior Firpo departure, Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell return to parent clubs
Leeds United have announced that Junior Firpo is leaving the club following the expiration of his contract. The 28-year-old left-back departs after four seasons at Elland Road, having joined Leeds from Barcelona in the summer of 2021. The Dominican Republic international has been linked with a move to Real Betis, and last week posted a picture of himself wearing former Leeds teammate and now Betis midfielder Marc Roca's Betis shirt. Advertisement Leeds wished Firpo well ahead of his departure, saying: 'Thank you and good luck, champion. You will always be welcome back at Elland Road.' Firpo made 119 appearances for Leeds, scoring six goals and helping the side achieve promotion from the Championship to the Premier League last campaign. 👏 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗼𝗲!Returning to their parent clubs as champions, #LUFC thanks Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell, wishing them well for the future — Leeds United (@LUFC) July 1, 2025 Leeds also confirmed that Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell have returned to Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth respectively following the conclusion of their loan spells. Solomon was a mainstay in Daniel Farke's starting line-up last season, with the 25-year-old winger scoring ten goals and providing 13 assists in 41 games. Rothwell also played a key part in Leeds' promotion, making 39 appearances in all competitions. Leeds have completed the signings of Jaka Bijol from Udinese, Lukas Nmecha from Wolfsburg so far this summer. By Leeds United correspondent Beren Cross Junior Firpo was one of many Leeds United footballers to come out of 2023's relegation with his stock through the floor on the terraces. Injuries through his two years in the top flight at Elland Road denied him any momentum, but when he did play, he was often exposed in defence. Firpo's errors seemed to be repeatedly punished and without any meaningful impact at the other end of the field, many supporters had washed their hands of him when the club dropped into the Championship. It was a surprise he remained with the team in the second tier, but Daniel Farke has helped him rebuild his reputation. In a team that did not need to do a whole lot of defending at the top of the league, Firpo was given the freedom of England's left flanks. The Dominican was a menace and 22 league goal involvements over the past two seasons, along with two of the club's best chants, have left many disappointed he will be moving on. Advertisement There would have been trepidation about him as a starter in the top flight, particularly in defence, but he looked a useful squad option from the bench for Farke. It's no great surprise he is moving on, but it's in far better circumstances than two years ago when the club last changed divisions.

Thank you Manor & Joe
Leeds United would like to thank Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell, who have today returned to their parent clubs following the conclusion of their season-long loans. The duo will be forever remembered for their influential involvement in helping the Whites return to the Premier League as champions of the second tier. Advertisement Solomon joined the club from Tottenham Hotspur and made his debut for Daniel Farke's side in a 2-0 victory over Hull City at Elland Road in August. First goals for United came in a thrilling 4-3 triumph away at Swansea City, in which the versatile attacker scored twice in South Wales. Manor would go on to play a crucial role in the run in especially, ending the season with 10 goals and 12 assists to his name in the Sky Bet Championship. The 25-year-old will be forever etched into Whites' folklore, having scored the dramatic winner in the dying seconds at Plymouth Argyle to secure the league title for the Whites. Advertisement Rothwell arrived on loan from AFC Bournemouth with vast amounts of experience and made a lasting impression, featuring in 39 matches across all competitions. Following a flurry of substitute appearances, Joe came to the fore after injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, and he would form a formidable partnership with Ao Tanaka in the heart of midfield from October onwards. The 30-year-old shone with his consistency, creativity and work rate, putting in outstanding performances match after match. Those displays memorably included assisting two late Pascal Struijk goals as Leeds fought from a goal behind to beat Sunderland in the final moments, in a memorable night under the lights in West Yorkshire. Both Manor and Joe return to their parent clubs as champions and we wish them all the best for the future, safe in the knowledge that they will always be remembered fondly at Elland Road.

Tottenham in ‘regular dialogue' with Manor Solomon as winger left stranded in Israel
Tottenham remain in regular contact with their winger Manor Solomon over his welfare after the winger was left stranded in Israel as the military conflict with Iran continues. The 25-year-old Israel international got married to his long-term partner, Dana Voshina, last week but they have not been able to leave after Israeli airspace was closed to civilian flights. Solomon, having recovered from a serious knee injury, spent last season on loan at Leeds, helping the club win the Championship. A Tottenham spokesperson said: 'We are constantly in regular dialogue with all our players regarding their wellbeing and welfare.' Solomon, who had a loan at Fulham before he joined Spurs from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2023, is due to return to the north London club for the start of pre-season training in early July.
