College Hockey 2025 Frozen Four Teams, Odds And Stats

College hockey takes center ice this weekend following March Madness Final Four and alongside The Masters major golf championship. Two teams are making their first ever Frozen Four appearance, Penn State and Western Michigan. Their favored opponents are defending national champions Denver, who has won 10 Frozen Four titles and two of the last three national championships, and Boston University, who is making their third straight Frozen Four appearance and has won the national title five times. The NCAA men's ice hockey championship started with 16 teams and the four remaining teams all won tight, low-scoring contests last game to reach the Frozen Four at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. Both Penn State and Boston University won 3-2 overtime games. Western Michigan won their second straight 2-1 game. Denver advanced with a 3-1 win over Boston College, who the Pioneers beat 2-0 in the Frozen Four championship game last year. Ice hockey odds and futures from FanDuel Sportsbook refresh periodically and are subject to change. That includes on props and live betting. Moneyline odds listed, and all times Eastern. Thursday, April 10 Saturday, April 12 All Frozen Four games are also streamed on ESPN+. Canadian fans can find the broadcasts on TSN2 and the streams on TSN+. These two teams played less than three weeks ago, and Western Michigan won a thrilling 4-3 game in double overtime to capture the NCHC Frozen Faceoff Championship Game in St. Paul, MN and advance to the men's hockey championship. Denver led that contest 3-0 in the third period before losing the lead and game. Pioneers defenseman Zeey Buium has been named a 2025 Hobey Baker Award Hat Trick finalist, which recognizes college hockey's top player. He's a first round draft pick of the NHL Minnesota Wild. Denver led the country in scoring this season averaging 4.0 goals per game with senior Jack Devine the teams leader in points with 13 goals and 44 assists. He also tops the country in points followed by teammate Aidan Thompson (20 goals, 34 assists). Denver has two other 20+ goal scorers in Sam Harris and Carter King, and the Pioneers power play is top-3 in the country converting at 30% with Boston U next. Western Michigan was second (3.95) in scoring this season and allow the fourth fewest goals per game (2.05) in the country. Sophomore Alex Bump leads the Broncos with 24 goals and 23 assists. He's a fifth round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers. Western Michigan's goalie is freshman standout Hampton Slukynsky, a Los Angeles Kings prospect who has allowed just two goals (0.82 GAA) in the tournament. Te Broncos are the only team of the top-4 overall seeds to make it to the Frozen Four. This is the first meeting between these teams and schools. Boston University has the second-worst goals against (2.9) of the four teams in the Final Four. Terriers defenseman Cole Hutson leads all college freshman in scoring with 46 points (14 goals). He's second on the team in scoring behind his brother, junior forward Quinn Hutson (23 goals, 27 assists), who had the overtime goal against Cornell to advance here. Their brother is 21-year-old Montreal Canadiens defenseman Lane Hutson. Freshman forward Cole Eiserman (23 goals) is 2024 first round draft pick of the New York Islanders. Penn State has one 20 goal scorer in forward Aiden Fink (23 goals, 30 assists), who has the most points of any underclassman nationally. Freshman Charlie Cerrato has 15 goals and 27 assists. The Nittany Lions 3.0 goals against is the worst of the four teams and just ahead of Boston U (2.9). Penn State started 0-8-1 in Big Ten play before a remarkable turnaround that has gotten them to the Frozen Four. Overall, a combined 38 players have been drafted from the Frozen Four teams. BU (14) and Denver (13) top the list followed by Western Michigan (8) and Penn State (3). FanDuel Sportsbook odds to win the national championship FanDuel also allows bettors to wager on the exact outcome with bettor odds. While the one-game elimination format has already taken out some top teams in the tournament, the Denver-Western Michigan winner is the likely national champion. However, odds are strong that Boston U will be the opponent, and the Hutson brothers along with Eiserman will make it a higher-scoring championship game if the opponent is defending champion Denver. You can bet on it. MORE FROM FORBES

March Madness Final Four: Complete wrap-up of potential OKC Thunder prospects

March Madness Final Four: Complete wrap-up of potential OKC Thunder prospects March Madness has officially started. The Men's NCAA Tournament will crown a national champion among 68 teams. After the Final Four ended, only two teams remained in Florida and Houston. A winner will be crowned on Monday. As the entire sports world shifts its attention to the NCAA Tournament, the Oklahoma City Thunder will watch with vested interest to see how possible draft prospects handle the national spotlight. Depending on how the lottery shakes out, the title contender could have a high lottery pick to a bottom first-round pick in the 2025 NBA draft. Thunder Wire looked at 10 prospects that the Thunder could look into in the first and second rounds. Here's how they did in the Final Four among those who advanced: Kon Knueppel, Duke In an all-time collapse, Knueppel's worst tournament game certainly didn't prevent Duke's meltdown. In a 70-67 loss to Houston, he only had 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting, seven rebounds and two assists. He shot 3-of-5 from 3 and went 3-of-3 on free throws. The Blue Devil saw their season end in frustration as the Cougars finished on a 9-0 run in the final 33 seconds. Khaman Maluach, Duke Maluach was also another non-factor against Houston. After stepping up for Duke in the tournament, he faded into the background against the country's best defense. He finished with just six points on 1-of-2 shooting and one assist. He shot 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. Alex Condon, Florida Florida survived Auburn in a nail-biter with a 79-73 win. They managed to do that without much help from Condon. He lost the big man battle as he was held to one point on 0-of-5 shooting, four rebounds and three assists. He shot 1-of-3 on free throws and tallied five fouls. The Gators didn't get much production from their center but that didn't matter. Johni Broome, Auburn Battling through ailments, Broome left it all on the court in his final college game. He finished with 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting, seven rebounds and two assists. He shot 0-of-2 from 3 and went 3-of-7 on free throws. He also had three steals and two blocks. A poor second half caused Auburn's season to end. Isaiah Evans, Duke This was an unceremonious end to Evans' season. He only played two minutes and failed to log in a stat. He could be a candidate to stay in school and forego the NBA draft in hopes of a bounce-back season next year.

Why Florida, not Auburn, is SEC's best shot at beating Duke in March Madness Final Four

Why Florida, not Auburn, is SEC's best shot at beating Duke in March Madness Final Four To beat Duke, you need to match fire with fire. Florida's Walter Clayton Jr. brings the heat, and veteran guards shine brightest in March Madness. Show Caption Hide Caption See how Gainesville bar MacDinton's reacted to Florida basketball clinching a spot in the Final Four The Gators defeated Texas Tech 84-79 Saturday night in San Francisco in the March Madness Elite Eight to clinch a spot in the Final Four for the first time since 2014. Bravo, SEC. The nation's best basketball conference supplied half the teams in the Final Four. Througout March Madness, the SEC lived up to the hype, taking the Sweet 16, Elite Eight and now Final Four by storm. Now, ready for the hardest part? Finish the journey with a national championship. The SEC's last national title came in 2012, when Kentucky cut down nets. Oddsmakers point to Duke as the Final Four favorite, and if you've watched the Blue Devils throughout the tournament, you know that's a fair projection. On this basketball-themed edition of "SEC Football Unfiltered," a podcast from the USA TODAY Network, hosts Blake Toppmeyer and John Adams assess the Final Four and make their final predictions. They also debate which SEC team, Auburn or Florida, would have a better chance of taking down Duke, if the Blue Devils beat Houston to advance to the national championship. Subscribe to SEC Football Unfiltered iTunes | Google Play | Spotify Which SEC team in Final Four has better chance of beating Duke? Toppmeyer: Florida. I trust veteran guards to become the stars of March Madness. To that end, Florida senior Walter Clayton Jr. has been fabulous this tournament. Florida is no one-trick pony. It's armed with a lineup of players who can score in double figures, and the Gators play well at both ends of the court. But, in those clutch moments, you want the ball in Clayton's hands. He's proven he can deliver. Adams: Florida. Clayton's heroics are becoming one of the top storylines of this tournament. How about that shot he hit against Texas Tech, when he gave up a shot in the paint to step out and drill a crucial 3-pointer? Now, that's one shining moment. To beat Duke, you need to match fire with fire. Clayton brings the heat, and the Gators are equipped with an array of 3-point shooters that can bring the full assault. (Ask Texas Tech for details.) Who will win the national championship? Toppmeyer: Houston over Florida. Houston is loaded with veterans who've been through the fires. No team defends better than the Cougars, and they have plenty of shot-makers, too. Adams: Florida over Duke. The stars shine brightest in the NCAA Tournament. Clayton and his Gators will be the lasting story of this tournament, barely edging Duke and Cooper Flagg. Later in the episode ∎ The hosts dissect another Tennessee tournament run that ended before the Final Four. Have the Vols hit their ceiling under Rick Barnes?
