UNC brass scratching their heads over ‘odd' behavior by Jordon Hudson and Bill Belichick
UNC brass is trying to separate Bill Belichick, the football coach from his persona on social media amid the fallout from his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, according to The Washington Post. In a story published on Tuesday, one UNC official explained that Belichick, 73, has 'two different sides' and that Hudson 'is in charge' of his public image outside of the football program. 'It's just so odd,' said an anonymous UNC official. 'And we just don't know what's coming. Those two decide what they're going to do and they do it.' 'She is very, very involved in the crafting of Bill's projected image, everything you see on Instagram, all of that. I know it's hard to separate out this image of Bill Belichick and Bill Belichick the North Carolina football coach. Maybe it sounds silly for me to try to separate the two things. But really the football side of Bill and now the public side of Bill have become two different things, and she is in charge of the public side.' 5 North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson look at a Tar Heels basketball game against Duke at Dean E. Getty Images Belichick's image hasn't faired well in the public eye after his disastrous 'CBS Sunday Morning' interview, which aired on April 27, during which Hudson stopping him from answering a question about how the couple met. 'Jordon was a constant presence during our interview,' CBS's Tony Dokoupil said at the time. After the interview aired, multiple reports painted Hudson as a controlling, self-serving diva. 5 Jordon Hudson arrives at the Sports Illustrated's SI The Party at Mardi Gras World on February 8, 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Belichick appeared on CBS to promote his new book, 'The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football,' in which he cites Hudson as his 'idea mill' and 'creative muse.' 5 Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson pose for a photo backstage at the 14th Annual NFL Honors at Saenger Theatre on February 6, 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Getty Images Pre-sales for the May 6 book underperformed, one person familiar with the situation told the Washington Post. The outlet mentioned that Belichick expressed his displeasure 'at the presentation of an upcoming essay/excerpt to be published in the Wall Street Journal' in an email sent to publicists at the book's publisher Simon & Schuster, Hudson, his former Patriots administrative assistant and others on April 10. Hudson posted a screen-grab of that email on her Instagram, set to Taylor Swift's 'Look What You Made Me Do' on April 29, after the WSJ published their essay. 'They are insanely suspicious of media,' the person familiar with the situation told the Washington Post, which reported that Hudson's interjection during the CBS interview overshadowed the book. 'It's almost Trumpian. 'She's not good at what she's trying to do. And how could she be? She's 24.' 5 Jordon Hudson received the second runner up prize during the Miss Maine 2025 pageant, where Bill Belichick supported her by sitting in the front row on May 11, 2025. Toby Canham for NY Post Belichick and Hudson have maintained that they met on a flight from New York to Florida in February 2021. They reportedly began dating in 2023. Hudson, a former NCAA champion cheerleader at Bridgewater State University, gave up training at her gym in Hingham, Mass., according to a letter she wrote to her team last year and obtained by the Washington Post. In it, Hudson apologized for 'all of the 'baggage' that comes with having me around; from the interlopers at practice, to the subsequent media exploitation, to the lack of dependability,' seemingly referring to the media attention she received when she and Belichick went public with their relationship last summer. She wrote, 'During this time, I have faced a slow, exterior erasure of my strong, individual identity. I can't thank you [enough] for helping keep that in tact [sic] by embracing me, for me. It is so difficult for me to give up my time with you, because I feel like I am giving up a part of myself in the process.' 5 Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson leave the Holiday inn in Portland, Maine after coming 2nd runner up in the Miss Maine USA competition on May 11, 2025. Toby Canham for NY Post Public records list Hudson as the manager of several companies including All BB Team LLC, Coach Show LLC and Chapel Bill LLC. Hudson did not respond The Washington Post's requests for an interview or comment. A spokesman for Belichick declined comment. During a Tuesday appearance on 'SportsCenter,' Belichick said Hudson has nothing to do with his football program at UNC. 'That's really off to the side, it's a personal relationship,' he said while at the ACC Spring Meetings. 'She doesn't have anything to do with UNC football.' It was Belichick's first televised interview since the CBS fallout. Belichick is set to appear on 'Good Morning America' for a sit-down interview with Michael Strahan on Friday.

The Ultimate 3-Day New Orleans Itinerary for First-Time Visitors
New Orleans is a city bubbling with excitement and history at every turn. With some of the most delicious food and drinks in the country, amazing music and very entertaining nightlife, it's a city that deserves to be at the top of any United States itinerary! While 3 days may not sound like a lot, you can certainly get a good taste of the best of New Orleans with this itinerary. Many of the best things to do in New Orleans are within walking distance of each other. I highly recommend staying at a hotel near Bourbon Street and walking to as many of the destinations in this post as you can. We had stayed at the Royal Sonesta Inn while in New Orleans and were right on top of all the action. Pro tip: if you aren't planning on staying out all night partying and want a decent night of sleep – request to stay in a room that is NOT facing Bourbon Street. We had to sleep with earplugs in because our room was right on Bourbon Street and the partying doesn't stop until at least 6 am! For the places that are too far to walk, you'll have a few different options.. I, personally, used Uber if places were too far to walk to. Renting a car in New Orleans can get expensive due to parking. It's much more cost-effective to forgo the rental car and walk as much as possible. Another option is to take the public bus, you can checkout this site for a list of all the available lines. This includes 4 streetcar lines – which can be a fun and unique way to explore the city! We arrived in New Orleans on our first day in the afternoon. We got checked into our hotel and then took a walk down Bourbon Street and then to the French Quarter. There is a lot to see down here! We wandered and stopped at a few bars and restaurants to get a feel for the city. This would also be a great day to take a 'behind the scenes' tour of Mardi Gras World. Tours leave every half hour between 9 am - 4:30 pm and are only an hour long. Once you've had a chance to do a little walking, eating and drinking, head to a live jazz show! We actually ended up right back at our hotel for this, as the Royal Sonesta Inn has a great jazz bar inside it called 'The Jazz Playhouse.' However, if you aren't a fan of hanging out in a hotel – then, I recommend checking out this list for some more cool places to see live jazz in NOLA. The most important thing to do on your trip to New Orleans is to eat as much as your body can safely handle! The food in NOLA is simply amazing. From Po'boys to gumbo and jambalaya to beignets – my mouth is watering just thinking about it. One of the best ways to get a taste of all the best foods in New Orleans is to do a food tour. I personally took this food tour and loved it! If you really want to go all too – combine your food tour with a cocktail tour to also get a taste of some New Orleans' best alcoholic beverages! The food tour will only take a few hours maximum, so we used the remainder of the day to shop in the French Quarter and do a little exploring. There are tons of fun shops in this area. (Grab a drink for the walk too! You can take alcohol to go in New Orleans!) Another highlight of this trip was taking a walking haunted history tour (like this one). This is best done at night + you can bring alcoholic beverages along for your haunted walk through the city. (They even let you stop to refill your beverages halfway through, haha.) Day 3 – Tarot Card Reading + Garden District & Cemetery Tour We woke up this morning to get a tarot card reading at Rev. Zombies Voodoo Shop – it was a fun experience! Whether you believe in this stuff or not, I do recommend trying it out while in New Orleans. I would fall in the 'nonbeliever' category when it comes to ghosts and readings, but I have to say… our reading here was eerily accurate! One of the weirdly accurate things our reader told us was someone very close to us in our family was pregnant and hadn't announced it yet… low-and-behold the day after we returned home from New Orleans, my sister-in-law told us she just found out she was pregnant! (I told her we already knew – our tarot card reader had told us, haha.) Note: Marie Laveau's House Of Voodoo is the most popular place to get a reading, but it was completely booked for the entire time we were here, so be sure to call and book ahead of time. Next up, head to one of New Orleans' famous cemeteries. St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 is the oldest cemetery in New Orleans and the final resting place of Marie Laveau 'The Voodoo Queen'. Another option is to combine Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 with a tour of the Garden District – an area that evolved from plantations to landscaped gardens to suburban streets. End the night with dinner at Brennan's (be sure to save room for their Banana Foster dessert), and then head to Lafitte's Black Smith bar for a night of drinks and fun – be sure to try a 'hurricane' here! *Another fun option would be to end with a dinner cruise your final night in NOLA!.

Mylar, confetti cannons banned from New Orleans parade routes
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — City Council members, Mardi Gras krewe captains and Entergy leaders met at Mardi Gras World to remind residents of the new rules regarding Mylar and confetti cannons on parade routes. Entergy representatives held a demonstration showing the dangers of Mylar touching an energized power line. Such incidents can disrupt the power grid for hours, causing long delays for parades and even blackouts in the surrounding area. 'One of the hardest things is the length of time it requires for crews to get to the outage itself. So, if there is a packed parade, even to get scouts out there to find exactly, perhaps, where that balloon got tied around a line takes time,' Deanna Rodriguez, the president and CEO of Entergy New Orleans said. Royal Sonesta New Orleans gearing and smearing up for Greasing of the Poles Last year, in 2024, a confetti cannon landed on a transformer during the Krewe of Thoth, shutting off power for nearly two hours. In 2023, Mylar confetti caused an outage during the parade Krewe of Cleopatra, prompting the city council to ban confetti cannons. The following year, council members banned the release of Mylar balloons. 'If you're found to be in violation of that ordinance, in your court, there will be citations and there will be penalties,' Oliver Thomas said. Your 2025 Carnival Season royalty! Councilman Eugene Green says the concern goes beyond those along the parade routes. 'Mylar, as a conductor, has a chance to blow out power that affects a lot of people. Sometimes people who aren't at the parade, who are on particular equipment, that it is lifesaving equipment, for example. Or that of something that they need for breathing purposes or other otherwise,' Green said. 'The grid belongs to all of us. Infrastructure is important. So, let's, have a safe and happy Mardi Gras!'
