Marmota expands drilling program at high-grade SA gold target
Marmota Limited has extended its maiden drilling program at its proven gold-mineralised Greenewood prospect in the northwestern part of the company's extensive multi-commodity Gawler Craton tenements in South Australia. It now plans to drill about 12,500 metres at an average downhole depth of 90m to deliver a maiden campaign far surpassing all the previous drilling metres put into the Greenewood prospect. The company has so far completed 61 holes in July for 5108m, with the drilling crew averaging about 284m per day. Marmota expects to continue the program for a further four to five weeks. The company flagged its drilling proposal and launched its new program in early July, following a detailed review of Greenewood's historic data. 'Marmota's Gawler gold project is progressing beautifully. We are delighted to carry out our maiden program at the nearby Greenewood gold deposit.' Marmota Limited chairman Dr Colin Rose The review found that gold mineralisation was discovered at the prospect during ASX-listed Tyranna Resources' 2016 reverse circulation drilling campaign to follow up anomalous gold results from a 2003 rotary air-blast (RAB) drilling program. Tyranna drilled the prospect further in 2017 and 2018, before moving away from gold to pursue lithium in Angola. Marmota acquired Tyranna's South Australian gold assets in 2020-2021. Tantalisingly, Marmota's reappraisal of the old gold assays during its recent data review unveiled some serious hits in Tyranna's reverse circulation drill tests. These include a best run in one hole of 1 metre assaying 53 grams per tonne (g/t) gold within a wider interval of 14m at 6g/t gold. A second hole hit 1m going 37g/t gold within a wider interval of 22m at 4g/t gold, while a third hole nailed 1m running 21g/t gold in a broader interval of 13m at 3.4g/t gold. A fourth hole bored through a further 1m interval assaying 29g/t within a 5m intercept going 10g/t gold.

Marmota chases up historic high-grade South Australian gold hits
Marmota Limited launched its 127-hole reverse circulation drilling program on the weekend for about 10,000 metres at its 90 per cent-owned Greenewood prospect, within the company's extensive South Australian Gawler Craton project. The company flagged the imminent start of its first Greenewood program early last week. The drilling is already spinning through about 300m per day and is expected to continue into August. Greenewood is one of two gold prospects in Marmota's westernmost Golden Moon joint venture tenure. The company's Mainwood prospect is 1 kilometre southwest of Greenewood. Marmota received ministerial consent to the transfer of 90 per cent entitlement to the two joint venture licences in late June. The approval freed the company to launch its planned exploration programs across the joint venture ground. 'Marmota is developing a pipeline of adjacent gold deposits, as we rapidly grow and expand our Gawler gold project.' Marmota Limited chairman Dr Colin Rose Prospectivity of the immediate area was highlighted late last year by bonanza hits in a phase one reverse circulation drilling campaign at the Campfire Bore prospect. Greenewood is less than 5km southwest of Campfire Bore. Last year's impressive Campfire Bore hits included a top intercept of 1m assaying 107 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 57m depth, five hits above 20g/t gold, and 13 intercepts of 10g/t gold or better. These included 5m at 12g/t, 3m at 11g/t and 3m at 10g/t gold. Marmota's current program is the first drilling at the prospect since 2018. Just 8245m of third-party drilling has been historically committed to the area.

Marmota to kick off its first drilling program at new SA gold target
Marmota Limited will be handed 90 per cent of the Golden Moon joint venture gold tenements in South Australia's renowned Gawler Craton, after the company received ministerial consent for a title transfer. The Golden Moon ground embraces four gold deposits - Mainwood, Greenewood, Campfire Bore and Golf Bore - in an arc of six important gold occurrences along the flanks of a major Y–shaped gravity anomaly. Together with Marmota's fully owned, high-grade Aurora Tank deposit, the company now holds either a 90% or 100% interest in five unmined but potentially significant gold deposits in the immediate region. The remaining project in the golden arc is the already-mined 1-million-ounce Challenger gold deposit. While not part of the recent title transfer, Challenger contributes strongly to the arc's nearology and mining history and reinforces the prospectivity of Marmota's new tenements. The company now expects to kick-start its first drilling program at Greenewood in about five days. It is planning to drill 127 holes for a total of 10,000 metres to an average depth of about 79m. 'The Golden Moon JV heralds a new era of gold exploration and resource growth in the Gawler Craton.' Marmota Limited chairman Dr Colin Rose Through its wholly owned subsidiary Half Moon, Marmota entered a joint venture in April last year with private company Coombedown Resources on a pair of tenements comprising the Golden Moon ground. Along with the Mainwood prospect, Greenewood occupies the smaller and westernmost of the two Golden Moon joint venture gold tenements, almost 36 kilometres west-northwest of Marmota's flagship Aurora Tank project. The second and bigger tenement consists of three separate areas. One area contains Marmota's Campfire Bore deposit, about 31km west-northwest of Aurora, while a second, 13km north-northwest of Aurora, encloses the Golf Bore deposit.
