Gang of eight arrested for impersonating cyber police kidnapping, robbing man of ₹30L
Navi Mumbai: The Sanpada police have arrested a gang of eight members for impersonating the Kerala cyber police, and looting ₹31.73 lakh in cash from a 25-year-old at an ATM kiosk in Juinagar on May 31. According to the police, the incident occurred at 7:45am when the victim, Mohammad Ramees Abdul Hameed Eidwalath, had gone to deposit the money at an ATM kiosk. The gang pushed Ramees into a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and took him to Palm Beach Road where he was assaulted, threatened, robbed, and finally dumped before they fled, said the police. The police searched the abandoned Ertiga found on the Sanpada highway. They tracked down the owner of the car who told them that the gang had borrowed his vehicle, claiming to be from the Kerala cyber police. The investigation revealed that the accused had fled to Bengaluru, after which the police sent a team to check 500-600 odd lodges in the city. The accused were caught within 36 hours of the crime, in the Upparpet area, on June 2. The accused, all from Tamil Nadu and Kerala, were identified as Thansir Hamsa, 26, Nijas Moin, 27, Johnson Sunny, 45, Anwar Maheen Basha, 25, Faseel Kasim, 30, Mohammad Sabeeth Ashraf, 25, Faseel Kasim, 28, Faseel Abdul Rehman, 31. The police seized cash, mobile phones, the Maruti Ertiga, and bank account deposits worth ₹30.48 lakh, and booked the accused under sections 310 (2) (dacoity), 138 (abduction), 204 (personating a public servant) and 61 (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Faridabad: 3 killed, 5 injured as speeding car hits another on NH-19
Gurugram: Three people were killed and five others critically injured after a speeding car rammed into another vehicle at a major intersection on National Highway-19 in Faridabad early Saturday morning, police said. Five employees of JCB India Limited were returning to their respective homes in Hodal and Palwal from the company's headquarters after a night shift in a Maruti Ertiga when an MG Hector, with three occupants, rammed into it from the accident took place at JCB Chowk near Sector-55 around 2 am. The deceased were identified as Tevinder, Manish, and Deepanshu, all aged between 25 and 30 years, station house officer of the Sector-58 police station Vinod Kumar said. 'They all were employees of JCB and were travelling in the Ertiga with two more colleagues. The crash took place as soon as the Ertiga reached the chowk. A speeding MG Hector, having three occupants, rammed it from the right. The collision caused the Ertiga to flip multiple times on the NH and it later caught fire,' Kumar said. Also Read: Two killed in Chamba road mishap 'Locals and police reached the spot and pulled everyone out of the mangled remains of both the cars before fire could spread and took them to various hospitals for treatment, where three of them were declared dead on arrival,' Kumar said, adding that the conditions of the five injured people are critical. The police are investigating to ascertain what led to the crash. 'However, prima facie it seems that the Hector driver didn't slow down prior to the intersection,' he said. Gutkha spitting at 100 kmph triggers crash in Chhattisgarh; 1 killed
A reckless act behind the wheel turned deadly in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district on Monday, after a speeding Toyota Innova crashed when its driver opened the door mid-drive to spit gutkha, reported the Times of India. The incident led to the death of a 31-year-old businessman and left three others injured, two of them critically. Fatal crash on Bilaspur-Raipur highway The accident occurred on the Bilaspur-Raipur highway when the driver, reportedly travelling at over 100 kmph, lost control of the vehicle while spitting gutkha. The Innova flipped multiple times, crashing into two vehicles and injuring an additional person. The deceased has been identified as Jackie Gehi, a cloth merchant from Chakarbhatha, located on the outskirts of Bilaspur. Police said Gehi had attended a late-night party on Sunday, June 1, and had called his friend Akash Chandani for a ride home. Chandani arrived with another friend, Pankaj Chhabra. Jackie sat in the back, while Pankaj occupied the front passenger seat. Door opened at high speed led to loss of control While driving at high speed, Akash allegedly opened the driver-side door to spit gutkha, which caused the vehicle to destabilise and flip violently. The car hit a divider, somersaulted several times, and collided with a stationary commercial vehicle before crashing into a Maruti Ertiga. The impact was so intense that all three occupants were ejected from the Innova. Jackie was flung into a roadside metal pole and sustained fatal injuries to his chest, head, and shoulders. He died on the spot. Akash and Pankaj suffered serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. Chain collision injures another As the Innova continued to careen across the highway, it slammed into a parked commercial vehicle and then crashed into an Ertiga. The Ertiga driver, who was seated inside and had not yet started the engine, was also injured in the collision. CCTV footage captured the horrific sequence of events, showing the vehicle flipping across the road and a passenger being hurled into a pole. Police cordoned off the accident site and facilitated emergency medical aid for the injured. The mangled remains of the Innova were later cleared from the highway. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Hit by driver, dragged: Video shows Mumbai man clinging to bonnet as car speeds off
A video from Mumbai last night is going viral on the internet showing a man clinging to the bonnet of a fast-moving car, caught in a life-threatening viral footage shows a Maruti Ertiga speeding down a highway while a man is seen hanging onto the vehicle's bonnet, desperately trying to save his life. Despite the dangerous circumstances, the driver inside the car continues to accelerate instead of slowing moment was captured on a mobile phone by a biker riding nearby. The video shows the car picking up speed while the man clings on, barely managing to hold his position on the moving vehicle. According to sources, the incident took place in Mumbai's Vile Parle area. Reports suggest a heated argument broke out between the drivers of two vehicles. Brand new car catches fire in Kerala, family narrowly escapes with life
A family had a miraculous escape after the brand new car they were travelling in caught fire in Kasargod, Kerala. The car carrying a group of five, was coming from Mumbai to Kannapuram in Kannur when it caught fire. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the passengers managed to get out of the car after realising it had caught fire and escaped by running away from the vehicle. The accident occurred at around 6 am at Pulikkund, near Cherkala, along NH66, approximately 10 km south of Kasaragod Ahmed Kutty who was driving the car noticed smoke rising from the car, quickly stopped the vehicle, woke up his wife and children and got them out. The family said that in their haste to escape, they left behind money, mobile phones, cameras, and other belongings, all of which were destroyed in the fire. According to the survivors, the items lost in the fire included Rs 62,500 in cash, four pieces of gold jewellery, two mobile phones and a camera. The fire was extinguished by the fire force from other passengers in the car included Iqbal's wife Rubeena and their children Nauf, Azees, and Umar.
