Gang of eight arrested for impersonating cyber police kidnapping, robbing man of ₹30L
Navi Mumbai: The Sanpada police have arrested a gang of eight members for impersonating the Kerala cyber police, and looting ₹31.73 lakh in cash from a 25-year-old at an ATM kiosk in Juinagar on May 31.
According to the police, the incident occurred at 7:45am when the victim, Mohammad Ramees Abdul Hameed Eidwalath, had gone to deposit the money at an ATM kiosk. The gang pushed Ramees into a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and took him to Palm Beach Road where he was assaulted, threatened, robbed, and finally dumped before they fled, said the police.
The police searched the abandoned Ertiga found on the Sanpada highway. They tracked down the owner of the car who told them that the gang had borrowed his vehicle, claiming to be from the Kerala cyber police.
The investigation revealed that the accused had fled to Bengaluru, after which the police sent a team to check 500-600 odd lodges in the city. The accused were caught within 36 hours of the crime, in the Upparpet area, on June 2.
The accused, all from Tamil Nadu and Kerala, were identified as Thansir Hamsa, 26, Nijas Moin, 27, Johnson Sunny, 45, Anwar Maheen Basha, 25, Faseel Kasim, 30, Mohammad Sabeeth Ashraf, 25, Faseel Kasim, 28, Faseel Abdul Rehman, 31.
The police seized cash, mobile phones, the Maruti Ertiga, and bank account deposits worth ₹30.48 lakh, and booked the accused under sections 310 (2) (dacoity), 138 (abduction), 204 (personating a public servant) and 61 (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

New Delhi, A nine-year-old girl was found stuffed in a suitcase at a neighbour's house in northeast Delhi's Dayalpur area, triggering protests by family members and locals who alleged sexual assault and murder of the minor. Police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order. Police sources said the perpetrator seems to have fled after stuffing her in a suitcase. Senior officials of the Delhi Police said all angles are being probed, including sexual assault. "We are awaiting the autopsy report to confirm the cause of death. Teams have been formed to nab the absconding accused. We are taking this matter with utmost seriousness," a police officer said. The child, a resident of Nehru Vihar, had gone to give ice to a relative living nearby around 7 pm, her family said. When she did not return home for a long time, her parents began searching for her. According to the victim's father, they approached several relatives and neighbours, but no one had seen her after her brief visit to one relative's house. "She had only gone to deliver some ice to our relatives. They said she stayed for five minutes and left. But she never came back. We looked everywhere. Finally, someone told us she was seen entering a house nearby. That's where we found her in a suitcase," he said. The girl's father alleged that when he reached the house, it was locked. Suspecting something was wrong, he broke the lock and entered the room. Inside, he found his daughter stuffed in a bloodstained suitcase. They rushed her to a local clinic, but the doctor asked them to take her to a hospital immediately. At Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital in Shastri Park, doctors declared her brought dead, the father said. A PCR call reporting the incident was received at Dayalpur police station around 8.41 pm, police said. A police team was immediately dispatched to Gali No. 2, Nehru Vihar, where they learned that the girl had already been taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital by her father, a senior police officer said. Hospital authorities informed the police that the girl was declared dead. "Prima facie, doctors observed visible injuries on her face and have indicated possible sexual assault," a senior police officer said. Following the incident, crime scene and forensic science laboratory teams were called to inspect the spot and collect evidence. Police said they are working to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. A case has been registered at Dayalpur Police Station under relevant sections of the BNS, along with Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. "Multiple teams have been deployed to collect clues and trace the accused. The investigation is being done on priority," the officer added. The incident sparked massive outrage in the neighbourhood. Soon after news of the girl's death spread, hundreds of residents, including the girl's relatives, blocked a nearby road and sat on dharna demanding justice. The protestors raised slogans against the police, alleging negligence, and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprit. Several shopkeepers were forced to shut down their establishments due to the tension in the area. Many of them said they were afraid of violence and chose to shut down shutters after protesters began marching through the market lanes. With the situation getting tense, a heavy police force was deployed in Nehru Vihar and adjoining areas to maintain law and order. Later, paramilitary personnel were also called in as a precautionary measure. Senior police officers were seen trying to pacify the crowd and reassure the family that strict action would be taken in the case. Traffic movement in the Dayalpur area was severely affected, with commuters stuck for hours. Vehicles were seen taking alternate routes, and several emergency services faced delays due to the road blockade. The victim's mother was seen inconsolable and in a state of deep shock. "She was crying and screaming 'bring back my daughter...'," a neighbour said, holding back tears. The victim's father said he was devastated and demanded justice. "We got to know about what happened very late. The police came around 1 am and collected evidence from the house. But the main accused is still roaming free. I will not rest until he is punished," he said.

Barik had defended himself claiming he was in contact with two persons, Bapu Mishra and Manoj Behera who were earlier booked by Model police station, to receive intelligence from them. According to the letter, Mishra was booked under section 142 of BNS (keeping in confinement a person who has been kidnapped or abducted) on April 29 this year and two cases were registered against Behera in 2008 and 2009.

Body Of Girl, 9, Found Inside Suitcase In Delhi, Cops Suspect Sex Assault
New Delhi: A 9-year-old girl was found dead and the body stuffed in a suitcase in the Nehru Vihar area of North East Delhi, the police said on Sunday. The incident occurred on Saturday, and the police suspect sexual assault based on initial medical observations. According to the information, the girl had gone to visit a relative on Saturday night. However, she did not return home even after two hours. The family then began their search. Someone informed her father that the girl was seen going towards a house, which was approximately 200 metres away from their own. Upon reaching the building, the father found the door to a second-floor flat locked from the outside. He proceeded to break the door and discovered his daughter's body lying motionless in a suitcase. The girl was naked when found. Speaking to IANS, the father said, "When I reached that flat, I broke the lock. Inside, I saw the girl in a suitcase. She was unconscious. I took her to the nursing home right there in the street." "My daughter left home to give ice to my relatives who live nearby. When she did not come home after a while, we called the relatives and found that she had never reached there. When I began searching for her, someone told me that she had gone to a flat nearby, and someone had called her inside. The owner of the building said that the flat was locked and his brother had the keys. He said that the girl had already left. However, he said that we can check even if we want to. When we proceeded, the owner ran away," the father said. "When I broke the lock, I found my child there in a suitcase," he added. According to the police, the father immediately rushed the girl to the JPC hospital, where the doctors declared her 'brought dead'. "Today, i.e., 07.06.25, (Saturday) at approximately 8:41 p.m., a call regarding the sexual assault of a minor girl in Nehru Vihar was received at PS Dayalpur. Upon reaching the location at Gali No. 2, Nehru Vihar, the Dayalpur police team found that a minor girl in an unconscious state had been taken to JPC Hospital by her father, where she was declared brought dead," the police statement read. "Prima facie, the attending doctors at the hospital observed visible injuries on her face and alleged sexual assault," it read. Crime and FSL teams are currently inspecting the spot. CCTV footage from the neighbourhood is being scanned to identify the accused. A case has been registered under sections 103(1)/66/13(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and 6 POCSO Act at Dayalpur police station. Multiple teams have been deployed to collect the clues and arrest the accused, the police said.
