Man killed after 4WD crashes in PD
MAN KILLED AFTER 4WD CRASHES IN PORT DICKSON PORT DICKSON, May 21 (Bernama) – A man was killed when the four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle he was driving lost control and crashed at kilometre 2.8 of Jalan Pantai here today. Port Dickson police chief Supt Maslan Udin said in the 2.30 am accident, the 33-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe head injuries. He said the front seat passenger, in his 30s, sustained minor injuries. "Preliminary investigations revealed they were travelling from Port Dickson to Kuala Lumpur. Upon reaching the location, the vehicle lost control, overturned, and spun several times before crashing into an electric pole, which broke upon impact. "The vehicle veered off and struck a fence, causing the driver to be thrown from the vehicle and entangled in the fencing, he said in a statement tonight. Maslan said the driver did not have a valid driving license and had four prior offences related to drugs and crime. He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Woman killed after falling out of car, hit by tanker in Port Dickson
The accident involved a Perodua Myvi and a Volvo oil tanker lorry. PORT DICKSON – A woman was killed after being hit by a tanker lorry when she was flung out of the car she was travelling in at kilometre 26, Jalan Lukut–Sepang, here on Sunday. In the May 4 incident at 8.20am, the 39-year-old victim was believed to have been thrown out of the vehicle after the rear door suddenly opened. Port Dickson district police chief, Superintendent Maslan Udin said the accident involved a Perodua Myvi and a Volvo oil tanker lorry. 'Initial investigations revealed that the accident occurred when the rear right door of the Perodua Myvi, in which the woman was travelling, suddenly opened while going through a bend, causing her to be flung into the opposite lane before being run over by the oncoming Volvo oil tanker. 'The woman's husband, who was also the 34-year-old driver and their five-month-old baby, who was seated in the front using a child safety seat, as well as the lorry driver, were not injured,' he said in a statement on Sunday. He confirmed that the victim was dead at the scene due to severe head injuries. He added that the 34-year-old male driver was unharmed and their five-month-old child, who was seated in the front with a child safety seat, also did not sustain any injuries. 'The tanker lorry driver was also uninjured. Checks revealed that both vehicles had valid road tax and insurance. 'Urine screening of the car driver returned negative for drugs,' he added. He said dashcam footage from the tanker lorry had been obtained to assist in the investigation. (PDRM pic) PETALING JAYA : A woman was killed in a freak accident this morning when a tanker ran over her after she fell out of the car she was in at Km26 Jalan Lukut-Sepang, Port Dickson. Port Dickson district police chief Maslan Udin said the victim was a passenger and fell out as the door opened when the car was negotiating a curve on the road, Bernama reported. He added that the 39-year-old was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe injuries to the head. 'Preliminary investigations show that the accident occurred when the right rear door of the Perodua Myvi the woman was in opened suddenly while the car was negotiating a curve on the road, causing her to fall into the path of the tanker in the opposite lane. 'The victim died at the scene due to severe injuries to the head after a Toyota Hiace driven by a man, 44, with a woman passenger, 20, from Senawang heading to Bahau failed to stop at the traffic light and hit the Yamaha Y15ZR ridden by the victim,' he was quoted as saying. He added that the victim's body was taken to Rembau Hospital's forensics department for a post-mortem. Both the van driver and the passenger were unhurt, and the driver has been arrested to facilitate investigations under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, Hatta said. He also called for witnesses to contact the investigating officer, Tiew Chuan Jie, at 014-9668399 or go to the nearest police station.
