Baylor steals game one from Sun Devils
WACO, Texas (FOX 44) — A furious seventh-inning rally lifted the Bears to a crucial series opening win over Arizona State, taking game one 7-4 on Friday night.
Baylor's defense showed out early on, helping Mason Green to a stellar outing on the mound with no hits allowed through four innings pitched, highlighted by a home-run robbery by Ty Johnson in the third.
The Bears struck first with Wesley Jordan driving in Tyriq Kemp with a RBI double down the left-field line to give Baylor a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third.
The Sun Devils responded in the sixth, taking a 4-1 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh.
However, the Bears confidence didn't waver on their home field, responding with a six-run frame to take the lead back for good.
Baylor will try for a series win against Arizona State on Saturday, May 3rd at 2:00 p.m.
