The Hundred: Curran & Cox star as Invincibles beat Brave
Update: Date: 21:30 BST 18 August Title: Goodbye Content: We've had two games at Southampton today where teams moved clear at the top of the table and showed why they're the team to beat in their respective competitions. Unbeaten Southern Brave beat Oval Invincibles by a record 89 runs in the women's competition, but the London franchise got their revenge in the men's game. A seven-wicket win sets the back-to-back champions at a tilt at three in a row - take a read of Matthew Henry's report to see how they dominated this encounter. We'll be back tomorrow for a double-header between Trent Rockets and Manchester Originals - the women's game starts at 15:00 BST, while the men's match begins at 18:30. You will be able to watch both games lives on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, while you can also follow ball-by-ball commentary on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, BBC Sounds and the BBC Sport website and app. See you then! Update: Date: 21:28 BST 18 August Title: 'It's special being out there in the middle with Cox' Content: Oval Invincibles all-rounder Sam Curran: "A really big win. I think with the way the table is placed at the moment we knew it was such a big game. They are such a great team and thankfully we got another win on the board." On taking three wickets and racking up 50 runs: "I'm really enjoying it out there and I'm playing with a really good bunch of guys and staff. I've said it before but we have been together for a while, so it's kind of like turning up to work and playing with your mates. Fingers crossed we can keep this momentum. There's still a long way to go but the boys are really happy." On Jordan Cox's form: "It is special being out there in the middle with him. He is playing really well and striking the ball so cleanly. He was suffering from a bit of cramp there as well. From ball one you could tell he was on form, with the way he was timing it down the ground and hitting everywhere. He is a nice partner to have and he helped to take the pressure off early." On sitting at the top of the table: "There's not really too much focus on the table. We know if we keep focusing on ourselves and our strengths, then we will be fine. It is always nice when you're winning, especially when the games come thick and fast." Update: Date: 21:24 BST 18 August Title: How's stat?! Content: Kieran ParmleyCricviz analyst Only Sai Sudharsan (49.8 average in the IPL) has batted as frequently as Jordan Cox in a major T20 domestic league with a higher average than Cox's 48.1. Update: Date: 21:21 BST 18 August Title: Post Content: Oval Invincibles were already top courtesy of net run-rate, but they now go clear of Trent Rockets and Northern Superchargers with their fourth win from five. Southern Brave might have some hope having had them 18-2 after 17 balls, but a superb 101-run partnership from Jordan Cox and Sam Curran took Invincibles most of the way to victory. The home side remain in fifth with two wins and three defeats. Full table Update: Date: 21:16 BST 18 August Title: How's stat?! Content: Kieran ParmleyCricviz analyst Sam Billings has finished not out in six successful run chases in the men's Hundred, the joint most for a player alongside Liam Livingstone. Update: Date: 21:16 BST 18 August Title: Post Content: Deep DasguptaFormer India wicketkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra Oval Invincibles absolutely look the team to beat. Another really good run chase, this is their fourth successful run chase out of five. They had to bat a little bit differently to what they're used to tonight, but that's skill and experience for you. The batting conditions were harder and the bowling unit was better but they still had it in them. A top effort from Sam Curran as well, staying unbeaten on 50 runs. A lot of credit to Jordan Cox for his innings as well, their partnership set things up nicely for Oval Invincibles. Update: Date: 11 balls left Title: Invincibles win by seven wickets Content: Invincibles 134-3 Game won, fifty up - job done for Sam Curran. He pushes Jordan Thompson out to the deep cover fielder and runs the two required to bring up the landmarks. His 50 comes off 32 deliveries, the win with 11 balls to spare - a very good night for the all-rounder. Update: Date: 12 balls left Title: Invincibles 132-3 Content: 2 runs needed A third four for Sam Billings, striking Jordan Thompson's second delivery through mid-wicket after not making contact with his first. He then takes a single off a push, with Jordan Thompson missing the stumps with a kicked attempt to run out the visiting skipper. Two runs needed for both the win and Sam Curran's fifty. Update: Date: 21:13 BST 18 August Title: Post Content: Deep DasguptaFormer India wicketkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra Tymal Mills has had an off-day. Southern Brave needed him to fire tonight, especially because they are trying to defend a below-par score. It hasn't been a good day at the office. Update: Date: 15 balls left Title: Invincibles 127-3 Content: 7 runs needed Invincibles captain Sam Billings comes in to try and finish the job. He gets four off his legs from his second ball, sending the ball through backward square, then edges Mills' last ball through an empty cordon. Required runs in single figures now, Mills has gone for 1-37 from 15 balls and I'm not sure we'll have time to see him again... Update: Date: 21:08 BST 18 August Title: Post Content: Deep DasguptaFormer India wicketkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra What a catch! That went so quickly to Hilton Cartwright but maybe the reason he even caught it at all was because it went straight at him. Jordan Cox timed it beautifully, it came straight out of the middle, and even he couldn't believe it had been caught. One foot to the left or to the right and there is no chance he's getting a hand to that! Update: Date: 19 balls left Title: WICKET Content: Cox c Cartwright b Mills 56 (Invincibles 119-3) But now the 101 run partnership comes to an end! Jordan Cox won't finish not out in consecutive matches, he smashes Tymal Mills' first ball straight to Hilton Cartwright at cover. That absolutely flew at Cartwright, even if he didn't have to move. Update: Date: 21:06 BST 18 August Title: Post Content: Deep DasguptaFormer India wicketkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra These last 15 runs are going to come quickly now that Jofra Archer and Craig Overton have finished their sets. Update: Date: 20 balls left Title: Invincibles 119-2 Content: 15 runs needed Back comes Jordan Thompson and Sam Curran guides his second delivery neatly through third for four with a late shot. Jordan Cox then smacks the penultimate delivery of the set through mid-wicket for a boundary of his own, bringing up the hundred partnership off 62 balls. Update: Date: 21:03 BST 18 August Title: Post Content: Deep DasguptaFormer India wicketkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra Oval Invincibles could do this in singles but, after seeing through Jofra Archer's set, they might want to see if they can do it with seven or eight balls in hand. They definitely don't want to take it to the last set because then eight wickets in hand doesn't matter. Update: Date: 25 balls left Title: Invincibles 108-2 Content: 26 runs needed A Sam Curran single down to third ends Jofra Archer's evening. The seamer finishes with figures of 0-19 from his 20 balls. Update: Date: 21:03 BST 18 August Title: Post Content: Deep DasguptaFormer India wicketkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra Another good knock from Jordan Cox. This is very different from the knock that he played out the other night, he is playing a lot more within himself and a lot more controlled. This current partnership is worth 90, so they are doing so well chasing down this total. This could've been a very tricky run chase. Update: Date: 26 balls left Title: 50 for Jordan Cox Content: Invincibles 107-2 Consecutive fifties for Jordan Cox! He awkwardly jams Jofra Archer's penultimate delivery into the leg side and there's a bit of a scramble by the fielder as Cox hurries through a single. It comes from 33 balls - he had to wait a little while after reaching 48 from 26. Update: Date: 20:58 BST 18 August Title: Post Content: Deep DasguptaFormer India wicketkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra Jofra Archer is back to bowl his last set. If he manages to pick up a couple of wickets in this set, things could look a bit different! A lot of credit has to be handed to Jordan Cox and Sam Curran. They have managed and shepherded this run chase well. They have been really smart in picking out the bowlers they want to attack. Update: Date: 20:58 BST 18 August Title: Post Content: Nicole HarveyFormer Welsh Fire player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra James Coles' quicker ball is rushing the batters here because his run up doesn't really look too different. He isn't turning the ball massively but he is changing up his pace, flight and trajectory really well. But both Oval Invincibles batters look like they are in fine form - I hope these last 30 balls are entertaining!

Livingstone's fireworks help Phoenix sneak thriller against Invincibles
Update: Date: 21:40 BST Title: Goodbye Content: Well, that was fun. We're off for a lie down - you can take a read of Matthew Henry's report as Birmingham Phoenix beat Oval Invincibles with the third-highest successful chase in the history of the men's competition. We've got four games for you on Wednesday with two double-headers Southern Brave host Northern Superchargers with the women's match starting at 11:30 BST and the men's at 15:00, while Manchester Originals travel to Welsh Fire - their games are at 15:00 in the women's competition with the men following from 18:30. You'll be able to follow ball-by-ball commentary on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, BBC Sounds and the BBC Sport website and app. See you tomorrow! Update: Date: 21:36 BST Title: Post Content: Birmingham Phoenix captain Liam Livingstone on BBC Two: "That innings was nice, we needed it! It has been a bit of a disappointing start to the tournament so we certainly needed a result. It is kind of nice to lead from the front, hopefully that gives the boys a bit of momentum and confidence. "I was trying to be there at the end. Something I haven't done a lot of in my career is be there to walk off having won the game, so it was in the back of my mind. We still needed to take some risks and I felt the longer boundary was an easier hit for some reason today. I don't know why, it just felt like it was more into my arc. "I don't know why Tom [Curran] decided to spray me when he got Jacob [Bethell]. I have no idea why. He is one of my good friends, I've played Lions cricket with him for so long, and he called me a 'fat slob' or something. "The win is massive. There is no hiding in this competition. If you lose a couple of games, you can be up against it. Hopefully this gives us a bit of confidence going forward, but we are still right up against it." Update: Date: 21:34 BST Title: Post Content: Oval Invincibles' opening bowler Jason Behrendorff went for a tidy 0-14 from his 15 balls, but didn't return after the 20th ball. I didn't spot him go off the field - it's possible he did - but I'm surprised he didn't get to complete his allocation if he stayed on. Update: Date: 21:31 BST Title: Post Content: Birmingham Phoenix's Will Smeed on BBC Two: "That was incredible. It was nice to come out on the right side of a close game. Hopefully everyone in the ground enjoyed watching that and hopefully that is the start of a successful competition for us as well. "I felt like I was ready to walk off after the first 10 balls to be fair, I just couldn't hit the ball at all but I just stuck in there. [Liam] Livingstone at the end, that was ridiculous! That is just what he does and that is why he is playing around the world and doing the stuff he has done. It was insane to watch. There's not many people that can do what he has done today. "I wasn't nervous at the end, I always back the boys. When you need three runs off the last five balls, you back yourself. It was great to come out on the right side today." Update: Date: 21:28 BST Title: Post Content: Saqib Mahmood finishes with figures of 3-28 off his 13 balls, having almost bowled his side back into contention in the final set. Meanwhile Phoenix skipper Liam Livingstone got to watch all the closing drama from the other end - he walks off unbeaten on 69 from 27 balls. Update: Date: 21:26 BST Title: Post Content: Alana KingTrent Rockets leg-spinner on BBC Two Thrilling! We had one batters from each side really showcase their skills. Liam Livingstone didn't come out of the blocks as we thought, but once he got going he was going to be hard to stop! The Birmingham Phoenix fans are quite delighted with that game. What a game of cricket. Update: Date: 21:24 BST Title: Post Content: Henry MoeranCommentator on BBC Two Pressure? What pressure? What a game of cricket! The third highest run chase in the men's Hundred. Birmingham Phoenix get over the line and this crowd have been royally entertained. A fabulous performance from the skipper Liam Livingstone. Update: Date: 2 balls left Title: Birmingham Phoenix win by four wickets Content: Phoenix 182-6 Benny Howell wins it for the home side! The Phoenix batter pushes away the hat-trick ball and his shot evades the diving fielder in the covers and progresses steadily the boundary for four. That inning swung all over the place Update: Date: 3 balls left Title: WICKET Content: Kimber b Mahmood 0 (Phoenix 178-6) Back-to-back wickets for Saqib Mahmood! Is he going to save the game with wickets? Full and straight, Louis Kimber tries to get leg side and is castled. Mahmood on a hat-trick, with Benny Howell coming in... Update: Date: 4 balls left Title: WICKET Content: Mousley lbw b Mahmood 11 (Phoenix 178-5) Umpire's call - Mousley has to go. Ball tracking has a strike on the very base of leg stump, the Phoenix batter perhaps a little unfortunate. Update: Date: 4 balls left Title: Umpire review Content: Dan Mousley struck on the pads, up goes the umpire's finger. The batter reviews, why wouldn't he? Update: Date: 21:18 BST Title: Post Content: Ravi BoparaFormer England all-rounder on BBC Two Saqib Mahmood has got a tough job to defend three runs here. You don't often see it done. If he manages to pull this one off, there is going to be a party in Birmingham. Update: Date: 21:17 BST Title: Post Content: Alana KingTrent Rockets leg-spinner on BBC Two Liam Livingstone is absolutely box office. I love watching him bat. He doesn't die wondering. When it is hit, it stays hit. Update: Date: 5 balls left Title: Phoenix 178-4 Content: 3 runs needed Tom Curran finishes with a delivery that's just within the tram lines on the off side. Livingstone can only squeeze a single, moving to 69 from 27. Saqib Mahmood needs to defend three from the final set of five deliveries, with Dan Mousley facing initially. Update: Date: 6 balls left Title: Phoenix 177-4 Content: 4 runs needed Livingstone blocks out a yorker - Phoenix still hustle through two. Update: Date: 21:16 BST Title: Post Content: Ravi BoparaFormer England all-rounder on BBC Two This is clean striking from Liam Livingstone. You can tell when a batsman is in the zone. The head is still and the eyes are level. Update: Date: 8 balls left Title: Phoenix 175-4 Content: 6 runs needed Again! Tom Curran sits it up nicely, suddenly Phoenix look comfortable. Update: Date: 8 balls left Title: Phoenix 169-4 Content: 12 runs needed And six now! Heaved over the leg side. Phoenix real favourites now. Update: Date: 9 balls left Title: Phoenix 163-4 Content: 18 runs needed Liam Livingstone smashes through the covers off Tom Curran's first ball! It's all to play for... Update: Date: 21:13 BST Title: How's stat?! Content: Kieran ParmleyCricviz analyst Liam Livingstone has now hit 21 sixes off Rashid Khan in T20 cricket, nine more than the next highest batter (Chris Gayle, 12).

Update: Date: 20:59 BST Title: 'Really happy with the way we played' Content: India captain Harmanpreet Kaur: 'It's a great moment for all of us, I'm really happy with the way we played in both of the series. Credit to our team, we're gelling and giving our best out there.' 'They've all been really great on the field and off the field also. Everyone in the team, when they get an opportunity they take it. They put in the effort on the field and I'm happy that we are now getting the results. We're keeping the right mindset and getting the results on the field.' On their fielding: 'Credit goes to our fielding coach because he's been working really hard. Initially it was really hard because of the effort we were putting in, we weren't getting those results on the field. I'm happy with the way we are putting in the effort and now getting results in the field.' On her batting: 'It was a very important match for us. I've been working really hard and I knew that when I went out there I was going to work really hard. It was for my dad, he didn't ask for it but hopefully he'll be happy with that knock today. I was under a lot of pressure because I wasn't getting runs. When you put in the hard work it pays off.' Update: Date: 20:58 BST Title: What's next for England? Content: England will play just two more games in this format before the 50-over World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka from 30 September to 2 November. The four-time champions will take on hosts and 2017 finalists India again but in Bengaluru on 25 September in their first warm-up fixture. Two days later, they will meet Australia at the same venue before their World Cup opener against South Africa on 3 October. England also face Bangladesh on 7 October, Sri Lanka on 11 October, Pakistan on 15 October, India on 19 October, Australia on 22 October and New Zealand on 26 October. Top four teams from the group stage will progress to the semi-finals of the World Cup. Update: Date: 20:56 BST Title: 'I don't think everyone is doing everything they possibly can' Content: Katherine Sciver-BruntEx-England bowler on BBC Test Match Special It's hard for me to understand some people sometimes and their attitudes because to me it looks lazy and like they don't care. I do sometimes [see that in this team at times]. Are they actually feeling like that? Or do you actually care a lot and that is your way of showing it? I struggled a lot with that. It came across to me as bad attitude and no discipline. That is definitely not what I'm seeing from everyone but at times there are examples. That is more an internal thing. When the pressure gets to them they go external and what comes out is not good cricket. They are being crippled inside and suddenly they are not switched on or they suddenly don't want the ball because they are scared to fail. A lot of versions like me have left the team and a lot of different versions have come into the team. Nat is captain now and she's the polar opposite to me, she's very quiet, inside and patient. She is everything I am not. You know how I feel but you wouldn't know how Nat is feeling. I wouldn't say that nobody in this team wants it, they all want it and to do their best. There is a lot of timid people and not many front-footed people who are willing to do anything. I don't think everyone is doing everything they possibly can. And the key to that question is why? I don't think there is anything malicious in that, it is a mental thing. We just need to be stronger internally and be more outwards with our fight. Do we protect our girls too much? Update: Date: 20:53 BST Title: 'We will learn a lot from this' Content: This video can not be played Sciver-Brunt drives Rana delivery through extra cover for four More from England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt on the bowling attack and balance of the side: "No, we don't have the luxury of loads of all-rounders and with me not bowling, it takes up a batting slot. "The balance of the side is an ongoing conversation that we have quite a lot and will have to become pitch-dependent [for the World Cup]. But the plan is for me to be bowling by then so that will give us a sixth bowler in that role. "We are trying different things and we will learn a lot from this. Using only five bowlers gives everyone a challenge of bowling at different stages of the game and I am happy that we've been able to see that here and learn from it." On India: "They are a world-class side and will take some beating, especially in their own conditions. It's put a marker for where we need to be. "Their fielding has been brilliant at times and when ours hasn't been on point, they've shown how much of a difference it can make." Update: Date: 20:51 BST Title: 'Some fielders seem surprised the ball is coming to them' Content: England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt: "Firstly on the chase, we did really well to keep ourselves in the game that long. We were pretty happy with how we were tracking throughout the innings but then the wickets at the back end really cost us. "From the first innings, we let a few too many through in the field. We weren't as disciplined as we could've been with the areas we bowled and let them get too many. On the fielding: "We do work very hard on it. The engagement that we have and the effort in training is excellent so translating that into a game is where we are missing a little bit. Some people maybe seem surprised that the ball is coming to them. "But in training we are absolutely flying around and obviously when you know you need to perform the skill under pressure, it becomes more difficult. We will continue to work on it." On managing that as a captain: "There are some people in the field who will be driving that, there's energy in the field that is driven by senior members of the side. It's something we want to work on, it just hasn't quite happened for us yet." Update: Date: 20:49 BST Title: Post Content: Charles DagnallCommentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra India have 10 fielders out there looking like they want the ball, who all look ready. It really puts pressure on the batters when you see them out there and really boost the bowlers' confidence. They feel like they are being backed. Update: Date: 20:46 BST Title: 'You want to be tested against the best' Content: England's ODI player of the summer Amy Jones: "I've loved the role. The West Indies series went a bit better for me, but that's opening - learning as you go and taking the highs with the lows. "India have been a huge challenge, one that we've enjoyed, and as a player you want to be tested against the best. "The biggest thing for me is my mindset. Looking ahead to the World Cup, it'll be about adapting to various different bowlers but just trusting my game and reacting to each game as it comes." Update: Date: 20:44 BST Title: Post Content: Dani HazellEx-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special A lot of learnings from this for England. Heather Knight is a massive loss for England. You can't buy experience. Nat Sciver-Brunt balances this side out unbelievably. Update: Date: 20:42 BST Title: Post Content: It ultimately proved to be an effort in vain. They then made a brilliant start to the ODI series before England fought back a rain-affected second ODI at Lord's. A gaggle of goslings keep getting stuck in this man's pool. Watch what he does next.
A clever man thought outside of the box when some baby geese were repeatedly getting stuck in his pool. Instead of constantly trying to scoop them out, Matthew Henry of Chesapeake, Virginia, decided to build makeshift stairs and patiently encourage the gaggle of goslings to use them. Despite the protective parents hissing, Henry persisted and was ultimately able to guide the goslings toward a safer way out. His creative and compassionate solution is now circulating online, earning him praise for his dedication to the safety of the feathered family. Humankind is your go-to spot for good news!
