UNC basketball offers 2026 small forward

The Tar Heels have put out another offer in the 2026 class The North Carolina Tar Heels continue to add to their 2026 recruiting board as they seek their first commitment for the class. There's a long ways to go in the class so there shouldn't be any panic and on Tuesday, they added another name. The Tar Heels offered four-star small forward Maximo Adams after his impressive performance at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam last week. Adams was a standout at the event as the Tar Heels were in attendance, and with Hubert Davis and the staff liking what they saw, an offer was the next step. Adams is a Sierra Canyon product out in California and is quickly improving his draft stock. He's up to over 30 offers now in his recruitment with UNC, Maryland, Kentucky, Purdue and Michigan State all offering this week. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound small forward is ranked No. 40 nationally, the no. 17 small forward and the No. 6 player in the state of California per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. With a recent jump in production this Summer, the attention is now there for Adams as evidenced by these offers. For North Carolina, he's now a new name to keep an eye on and he's the 14th player to earn an offer from UNC. He's also the seventh small forward to earn a UNC offer as the Tar Heels are hoping to address that position. Prep talk: Maximo Adams fuels Sierra Canyon's bid for state title

If you believe coaches around Sierra Canyon basketball, 6-foot-8 junior Maximo Adams is just scratching the surface of "how good he can be," assistant coach Chris Howe said. That says a lot, because during the playoffs, Adams has scored 20 or more points three times while averaging 17.7 points in helping the Trailblazers reach Friday night's Division I state championship game against Stockton Lincoln at Golden 1 Center. His development has been critical to Sierra Canyon emerging from Mission League play and making the state final with tough wins over Redondo Union and JSerra. His older brother, Marcus, has been a standout at Cal State Northridge this season. Adams seems to have become more comfortable and confident, making free throws, rebounding and contributing key baskets. He's been assigned to guard some of the best players in Southern California, from Nikolas Khamenia of Harvard-Westlake to Tyran Stokes of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. All those experiences should show up in the Division I final, because he has reached peak form entering the final game of the season and creating excitement for his senior season as he continues to gain strength and experience. .... 🏆🏀 The 2025 CIF State Basketball Championships are March 14-15 @Golden1Center!Which games are you looking forward to?📖 — CIF State (@CIFState) March 12, 2025 Sophomore guard Kaleena Smith of Ontario Christian has been selected the Gatorade state player of the year in girls' basketball.
