Media Prima dominates MACC Media Awards, wins in all categories
KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd dominated the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Media Awards 2024 tonight, winning an award in every category.
The New Straits Times (NST) clinched first runner-up in the Best Social Media Content category for a "Beyond The Headlines" podcast segment featuring MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
NST Associate Editor (Content and Digital) Najmuddin Najib, alongside team members Amalina Kamal, Hana Naz Harun, Jasmine Jasman, and Shahrul Redzuan Zulkifli, received the award and prize of RM6,000 from Azam tonight.
Meanwhile, TV3 triumphed in the Best Audio-Visual category.
Journalist and presenter Siti Khadijah took home first place, winning RM8,000 for her report on 'Seludup Warga Asing, 20 Individu Ditahan Guna Kod Sulit Elak Dikesan.'
The New Straits Times Press (NSTP) also won all prizes in the best article category.
Harian Metro journalists Muhammad Hafis Nawawi and Hafidzul Hilmi Mohd Noor won first place for their report on graft titled 'Wang Ekspres.'
Second place went to Harian Metro journalist Mohd Jamilul Anbia Md Denin for his report titled 'Kejayaan SPRM lumpuhkan sindiket counter setting', and Berita Harian journalist Mohd Abdul Ilah Hafiz Abdul Aziz won third place for his report titled 'Isu Teknikal Bank, Integriti Pegawai Bank, Punca Jenayah Kewangan Berleluasa.'
Azam, in his speech, called for the media to continue reporting responsibly and ethically.
"Your work is not just about reporting incidents, but also shaping history," he said tonight.
