Jessica Chastain, Adam Driver to Star in Apple Series "The Dealer"

Yara Sameh Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver are set to star in the series 'The Dealer' at Apple TV+. The project has been given a straight-to-series order in a competitive situation. It is described as 'a biting exploration of power, class, and culture set inside the glittering world of the high-end art market, told through the eyes of an aspiring super gallerist, played by Chastain, and the tangled relationship with her most gifted and unnerving artist, played by Driver.' Lucas Hnath is the writer behind the series and serves as executive producer. Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer will executive produce for Media Res, while Chastain and Kelly Carmichael will executive produce for Freckle Films. Driver and Alan Poul also executive produce along with Sam Gold and Sarah Lunnie. Arianna Anderson will serve as co-executive producer. Gold is also directing. The series is produced by Media Res, which also produces the Apple shows 'The Morning Show,' 'Pachinko,' and 'Extrapolations.' This marks just the second regular television role of Driver's career. He previously broke out with his role in the critically-acclaimed HBO series 'Girls,' in which he starred throughout the show's six season run. Driver is primarily known for his film roles, having earned two Oscar nominations to date — one for 'Marriage Story' and another for 'BlacKkKlansman.' He is also known for his role as Kylo Ren in the new 'Star Wars' trilogy and has starred in other films like 'Megalopolis,' 'House of Gucci,' 'The Last Duel,' 'Silence,' and 'The Report.' 'The Dealer' also marks Chastain's second series with Apple. She is also leading the upcoming limited series 'The Savant,' which was filmed in 2024 and is currently awaiting a release date. Chastain also starred in the limited series 'George and Tammy' opposite Michael Shannon, in which they played George Jones and Tammy Wynette. She won the Academy Award for best actress for her work in 'The Eyes of Tammy Faye' in 2022. She has been nominated two other times — for 'Zero Dark Thirty' and 'The Help.' Her other notable film roles include starring in 'The Good Nurse,' 'Armageddon Time,' 'Molly's Game,' 'Interstellar,' and 'A Most Violent Year.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 .. Ben Stiller To Headline Music Industry Dramedy ‘The Band' In Works At HBO From ‘Search Party' Co-Creators, Media Res & Red Hour

EXCLUSIVE: HBO is developing The Band, an hourlong dramedy series starring Ben Stiller in a rare TV role. The project comes from Media Res and Stiller's Red Hour Films, the company behind two of Apple TV+'s biggest series, The Morning Show and Severance, respectively. Created by Sarah Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers, co-creators of the acclaimed TBS/Max comedy Search Party, The Band offers an inside look at the music industry centered on Oscar (Stiller), a pop impresario and talent mogul beset by scandal who is tasked with forming a new act in order to save his career – and perhaps his soul. Cowell was behind the creation of one of the biggest boy bands of all time, One Direction. Bliss and Rogers serve as showrunners. They executive produce alongside Red Hour's Stiller and John Lesher, Savan Kotecha as well as Media Res' Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer. Media Res will serve as co-studio with HBO. This represents a very different take on the music industry than the one HBO took last year with the dark drama The Idol. If The Band goes forward, it would makk only the second TV series starring role for Stiller following his 1990 sketch comedy The Ben Stiller Show. He has done a couple of recurring roles, most notably on Arrested Development and HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm. Red Hour Films produces the Peabody- and Emmy-winning Apple series Severance — now in its second season — with Fifth Season. Stiller is a director in addition to executive producer. Stiller and Red Hour are repped by WME and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern. Media Res's current slate includes the Emmy and SAG Award-winning Apple drama The Morning Show, which is headed into its fourth season, and the streamer's Pachinko. Coming up are The Miniature Wife at Peacock, starring Matthew Macfadyen; corporate thriller Thumblte at Netflix, starring Rosamund Pike, in addition to several projects in advanced development, including bisexual romance drama Enigma Variations at Netflix, starring Jeremy Allen White. At HBO, where Media Res founder Ellenberg was once a top drama executive, the company previously produced Scenes From a Marriage, starring Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac. Bliss and Rogers co-created and executive produced with Michael Showalter Search Party, starring Alia Shawkat, which ran for five seasons. Their series credits also include Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later. The duo are repped by UTA, Rise Management and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Jeremy Allen White to star in Netflix's bisexual romance drama ‘Enigma Variations'

Jeremy Allen White is confirmed to star in and executive produce Netflix's limited series adaptation of André Aciman's novel, Enigma Variations. The project, currently in development, will mark the second screen adaptation of Aciman's work, following the critically acclaimed Call Me by Your Name. White will portray the lead character, Paul, in the series that explores themes of love, desire, and identity. The story follows Paul's lifelong journey of fleeting yet consuming relationships, from a childhood crush on a cabinetmaker in Italy to anonymous encounters with men and enduring passion for a girl he reconnects with over the years. The narrative delves into the complexities of love, desire, and self-discovery. Amanda Kate Shuman (The Wheel of Time) is attached as the writer, showrunner, and executive producer, while Oliver Hermanus (Living) will direct and executive produce. Aciman and White will also serve as executive producers, with Media Res producing the series. Jeremy Allen White, best known for his Emmy-winning role in FX's The Bear, brings significant star power to the adaptation. His other notable credits include Shameless, The Iron Claw, and the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere. For Media Res, this is one of their latest Netflix ventures, following the recent announcement of their Silicon Valley corporate thriller Thumblite starring Rosamund Pike. The series will offer audiences a rich exploration of human connections and emotional depth, adding another highly anticipated adaptation to Netflix's slate.
