Arab Parliament Calls for Pressure on Zionist Enemy to Stop Genocide
Marrakesh - Saba: The Arab Parliament called on Mediterranean countries to take a unified stance by pressuring the Zionist enemy authorities to halt the genocide in the Gaza Strip and allow the entry of humanitarian aid. According to the Palestinian News Agency on Saturday, Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Ahmed Al-Jubouri, said that the Zionist enemy authorities are using starvation as a weapon and preventing the entry of food aid into the Gaza Strip, amid international silence. In his speech during the third session of the Parliamentary Economic Forum of the Mediterranean Parliament, Al-Jubouri called for pressure on the Zionist enemy to stop the ongoing aggression, killing, displacement, and forced migration of Palestinians. Bahrain Secures Full Membership in Mediterranean Parliament
Manama: Bahrain's parliamentary delegation, led by Dr. Jehad Abdulla Al Fadhel, Second Deputy Chairperson of the Shura Council, received full and permanent membership in the Mediterranean Parliament during its 19th General Assembly in Rome. According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation had formally requested membership, emphasising Bahrain's commitment to enhancing parliamentary diplomacy. Delegates took part in the election of the new President and bureau members for the 2025-2026 term and contributed to discussions on political, security, economic, and human rights topics within the Mediterranean Parliament's standing committees.

Bahrain seeks full membership in Mediterranean Parliament
Bahrain has officially applied for full membership in the Mediterranean Parliament, moving beyond its current observer status. A delegation led by Second Deputy Chair of the Shura Council, Dr Jehad Al Fadhel, submitted the application during the 19th General Assembly in Rome, held from 19 to 21 February. As part of the request, Dr Al Fadhel delivered a letter from Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, who also chairs the parliamentary group's executive committee, to the President of the Mediterranean Parliament. Dr Al Fadhel emphasised that full membership would enhance Bahrain's participation and influence in regional policymaking. She also highlighted that several Gulf states had already joined as full members.

A delegation from Bahrain's Parliamentary Division, led by Dr. Jehad Abdullah Al-Fadhel, Second Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, has officially received full and permanent membership in the Mediterranean Parliament. The membership was conferred during the closing session of the 19th General Assembly of the Mediterranean Parliament, held in Rome, Italy, from February 19 to 21. The delegation had previously submitted an official request to join, emphasizing Bahrain's commitment to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and fostering unified perspectives on key regional and international issues. During the assembly, the delegation witnessed the election of a new president for the Mediterranean Parliament for the 2025-2026 term, along with the selection of new members for the council's executive office. Additionally, they attended, as observers, meetings reviewing reports from three of the Parliament's standing committees. The delegation actively participated in discussions within the First Standing Committee on "Political and Security Cooperation and Activities for 2025," which covered topics such as "Geopolitical and Security Developments in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Regions" and "Emerging Threats from Terrorist and Criminal Activities in Mediterranean Parliamentary Areas." Furthermore, the delegation attended sessions of the Second Standing Committee, which focused on "Economic, Social, and Environmental Cooperation and Activities for 2025." Reports discussed included "Challenges and Opportunities for Economic Growth in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Regions" and "Biodiversity, Climate Change, and Desertification: Implementation of the Three Rio Conventions and Environmental Prospects in Mediterranean Parliamentary Areas." The Third Standing Committee also presented its work on "Intercultural Dialogue, Human Rights, and Activities for 2025." Topics reviewed included reports on "Human Trafficking During Complex Crises in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Regions" and "The Right to Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation as a Fundamental Human Right." Bahrain's full membership in the Mediterranean Parliament marks a significant step in enhancing its role in regional and international parliamentary affairs, paving the way for greater cooperation and dialogue on issues of shared interest.
