Hollywood stalwart Megan Gallagher - who has appeared on screen over 50 times - was on the hit series Hill Street Blues for several years in the late 1980s. The Pennsylvania native played Officer Tina Russo for 19 episodes from 1986 until 1987 and gained a following as the show was such a massive success. The brunette also popped up on several other hit series like China Beach, The Slap Maxwell Story, The Larry Sanders Show and Millennium. And there was a role in 2005's Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Last week the 65-year-old performer was seen in a rare sighting in Los Angeles as she wore casual clothing: she paired a black tank top with dark slacks adding a cap and sneakers during a power walk. See what the thespian with a stage background looks like now. After studying at Juilliard School she landed a role in a production of Paul Osborn's Oliver Oliver. Next came a part in of LCDR JoAnne Galloway in the 1989 Broadway production of Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men; Tom Cruise and Demi Moore were in the film version. In 1993, she took part in Broadway productions of both parts of Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes—Millennium Approaches and Perestroika. Next came Los Angeles. She was first in the miniseries George Washington and then she won a guest spot in the first episode of L.A. Law. She then went on to appear as a series regular towards the end of Hill Street Blues' run. Gallagher had on a black tank top with dark jeans. Gallagher also appeared in the legal drama Suits, which is best known for starring Meghan Markle. It was her mother who would take her to Broadway theatre productions as a child and inspire her to act Gallagher, who sees Mary Tyler Moore as an inspiration, attended Wyomissing Area Junior/Senior High School, then moved to New York City to study acting at the Juilliard School. Gallagher is married to actor Jeff Yagher; together they have twins.

High court rejects appeal by Bobby Thomas for new trial in murder of Megan Gallagher
Saskatchewan's top court has rejected a Saskatoon man's bid for a new murder trial. Bobby Thomas pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in December 2024, admitting to killing Megan Gallagher in September 2020. In March, he appealed that plea and asked for a new trial. In his notice of appeal, Thomas cited unspecified "Charter right violations," adding that he hoped "to have one last chance of having some kind of life with my four kids. They lost their mom to an overdose in Sept. 2024, so I wanna make sure they have one parent to go to, and I feel I haven't had a fair court case either." Justice Neal Caldwell heard the appeal on June 11 and released a written decision two days later. "Bluntly, the allegations made orally by his counsel in this matter are not only wholly unsupported by any evidence, they are, at least to some extent, dispelled or contradicted by the court record," Caldwell wrote. Thomas suggested that he had gotten bad advice from his earlier counsel. Caldwell said Thomas' own words at his sentencing undermined this position. "As is evident, the contention of improper pressure from his trial counsel is inconsistent with Mr. Thomas' own, unsolicited statement in his sentencing hearing that his first lawyer had several times attempted to arrange for Mr. Thomas to plead guilty to a lesser offence than second-degree murder." Summer-Sky Henry, Roderick Sutherland and Cheyann Peeteetuce were all charged with first-degree murder along with Bobby Thomas. Henry and Peeteetuce pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Sutherland is set for trial later this year. Thomas Sutherland was charged with manslaughter, but it was stayed.
