She had a lengthy list of screen credits that included films like Seabiscuit and the television and streaming series Man in the High Castle and Big Sky. She also had appearances on iconic series like Glee, Grey's Anatomy, The West Wing, and Frasier. Mahaffey played an accountant who briefly dated George Costanza in Seinfeld. A true talent whose legacy will live on in our laughter and memories. Rest in peace, Valerie," a fan wrote on X. Mahaffey's husband, actor Joseph Kell, told Variety that Mahaffey's cause of death was cancer. She died on May 30 in Los Angeles, he told the publication. Bruce Willis' Wife Gives Heartbreaking Update About Their Future
Bruce Willis's wife Emma Heming Willis has given a heartbreaking update about their future. During Willis's much-publicized journey with dementia, Heming Willis has periodically given the public a window into the family's support for the actor. She expresses her love for him on Instagram, and occasionally, a photo emerges showing Willis. Now she's given a heartwrenching description of the couple's shock when they learned the news. 'On the day Bruce got his diagnosis, we left the doctor's office with a pamphlet and a hollow goodbye. No plan, no guidance, no hope, just shock,' she said in Las Vegas at the Women's Alzheimer's Movement Forum on May 26, according to People. 'The future we imagined simply vanished, and I was left trying to hold my family together, raise our two young daughters, and care for the man I love while navigating a disease I barely understood," Willis's wife said, People reported. In 2023, Willis' family released a statement describing his condition. "Since we announced Bruce's diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce's condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis," the statement says. 'I felt lost, isolated and scared,' Heming Willis continued, according to People. 'What I needed in that moment at that appointment wasn't just medical information. I needed someone to look me in the eye and say, 'This feels impossible right now, but you will find your footing. You will survive this and you will grow because of it.' ' On March 19, Heming Willis posted a tribute to Willis on Instagram. "It's Bruce's birthday, and if there's one thing I know, it's that there's no greater fan than a Bruce fan. So flood him with all the love today, he will feel it, I swear he will. You are one powerful bunch. I love how you rally for him, and I'm so grateful that he has you," she Willis' Wife Gives Heartbreaking Update About Their Future first appeared on Men's Journal on May 30, 2025

Tropical Storm Alvin Is Here. These Are the Names for Every Hurricane This Season.
Tropical Storm Alvin, the first named storm of the 2025 hurricane season, has arrived and is making its way over the Eastern Pacific Ocean. However, there are surely more storms behind it. In fact, there are as many as 18 named storms and 10 hurricanes forecast for this year, according to Mexico's National Weather Service. Not only does Hurricane Alvin mark the first storm of the season in the Eastern Pacific, but it's the first across all ocean basins throughout the Northern Hemisphere. While we wait on the other named storms for the hurricane season, Tropical Storm Alvin is forecast to stay far enough offshore that its effects on the Mexican coast will be minimal, limited primarily to larger swells and stronger rip currents along coastal areas. The official Atlantic hurricane season occurs from June 1st to November 30th.. While most hurricanes are expected between mid-August and mid-October, with the peak typically around September, tropical cyclone activity can sometimes occur before and after these dates. Since 1953, Atlantic tropical storms have been named by a list created by the National Hurricane Center. Here are the names of every storm this season, with one assigned for each letter of the alphabet except Q, U, X, Y, and Z. Why SSI payments won't arrive in June
SSI payments won't be going out in June 2025. However, that doesn't mean people won't get their checks. The payments affect a lot of people, with more than 7 million Americans getting the payments due to disabilities or other reasons. Rather, two checks will arrive in May, including the one meant for June. That's according to the News-Press. People who get Supplemental Security Income checks "won't get a check in the month of June at all, but they received two checks in May," the news site reported, attributing this to "quirks of the calendar." According to USA Today, the lack of a June payment is simply due to "how the calendar plays out." It all boils down to when the first day of the month falls. According to USA Today, the SSI payments are paid on the first of every month. They are "issued early" when that day falls on either a weekend or holiday, according to USA Today. June 1, 2025, falls on a Saturday. That means the June payment will be made on May 30, 2025, so people are actually getting their checks a day early. The same situation will develop in September and November, USA Today reported. According to the U.S. government, SSI provides monthly payments to adults and children "who have income and resources below specific financial limits, and who" are either age 65 or older, are blind or "have a medical condition that keeps them from performing substantial gainful activity, which is expected to last one year or result in death."Why SSI payments won't arrive in June first appeared on Men's Journal on May 30, 2025

'The Boys' Colby Minifie on Series Finale: ‘Extremely Satisfying'
If you weren't excited enough about how one of television's most chaos-loaded shows opts to bid farewell in its series finale, this should do the trick. Among the characters in the hit show The Boys, who dislikes (anti) superhero Homelander the most outside of the core group of Butcher, Hughie, Annie and the gang, Ashley, played by Colby Minifie, is high up on the list. Ashley has been bullied and pushed around by Homelander, among others, in Vought since Season 1, so when Minifie spoke about how the season finale plays out, it turned a few heads. This is mainly because she summed it up in a way that could tease what many fans of The Boys are hoping to see—the end of Homelander's reign. During an interview with ScreenRant, two words effectively summed up Minifie's thoughts after learning how the series finale plays out. "Extremely satisfying." "I just read the finale last night. It's an extremely satisfying finale," Minifie said. "That's what I will say. It's extremely satisfying. I was getting emotional reading it." Considering Ashley took Compound V at the end of Season 4, the same thing that has sent Butcher into a tailspin, but also allowed him to go toe-to-toe with Homelander and other superheroes, it makes the comments even more interesting. Fans will have to continue speculating for a good bit longer before we finally receive an answer on how the creators will end the series, as the expected premiere for Season 5 is in 2026. However, if the first four seasons are any indication, the last hurrah won't disappoint.'The Boys' Colby Minifie on Series Finale: 'Extremely Satisfying' first appeared on Men's Journal on May 26, 2025
