Upload Final Season Trailer: A Life Coach Chinchilla Offers Nate Help, While AI Threatens to Destroy Lakeview — Watch
Pfft. Meta Glasses have nothing on the tech being passed around in the final season of Upload. Prime Video released the final season trailer for its sci-fi dramedy Tuesday, and while things still remain up in the air for Nate in Lakeview, fear not — a life-coach chinchilla is here to save the day! Actually, it's Ingrid in rodent form, but Nate can use all the help he can get. And just like in our own tech world, people are starting to be replaced by AI, as the hunt for the real Nathan continues. Watch the trailer in full below. The show also held court at San Diego Comic-Con in July, where the Season 4 sneak peek below was shared. It features Zainab Johnson's Aleesha getting quite the combat training session from a Mr. Chu. In the final episodes, 'sentient AI rapidly turns evil, threatening to wipe out Lakeview (and the world!),' per the official description. 'On top of greedy executives, lingering mysteries, plus heartbreak in VR and IRL, our characters are tested like never before. The only way they can get through it all and save humanity from deletion is by teaming up one last time.' The sci-fi series will see the return of stars Amell (The Flash), Johnson (American Koko), Andy Allo (Chicago Fire), Kevin Bigley (Sirens), Allegra Edwards (Briarpatch) and Owen Daniels (Space Force). The show's Season 3 finale, which debuted Nov. 10, 2023, concluded with a courtroom victory for the families of the Freeyond victims, but all of the incriminating intel Aleesha snagged off Karina's computer about Horizen remained sealed up as part of the settlement. Plus, both Nathans remained the property of Horizen. The company then rebranded as Betta and went about destroying all the illegal, duplicate uploads — including Nathan. While the Original Nathan was taken into custody, the newly engaged Backup Copy Nathan was hunted down. In the end, one Nathan video-called Nora and Ingrid to reveal that the other was a goner, prompting Nora to exclaim, 'Which one are you?!' On the relationship front, Ingrid reacted badly to Backup Nathan's proposal before realizing she was pushing him away because of her own insecurities, and happily accepted his proposal. Meanwhile, Original Nathan was also planning to pop the question to Nora in Montreal before he was taken away. And Aleesha spontaneously planted a kiss on Luke while celebrating their successful covert operation to get Karina's laptop. Are you excited to stream the final season of ? Elon Musk's Tesla gets green signal to operate Robotaxi service in Texas despite security concerns
Representative Image Elon Musk-led Tesla has received a permit to operate its Robotaxi service in Austin, Texas. This permit will allow the company to run a ride-hailing business with cars integrated with the automated driving system and even compete with companies like Uber and Lyft. The permit was issued this week despite previous reports of the vehicles disobeying traffic rules. According to a listing on the website of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) (as seen by CNBC), Tesla Robotaxi LLC is now licensed as a 'transportation network company' in Texas until August 6, 2026. The TDLR has also confirmed that this permit will enable Tesla to operate a ride-hailing business anywhere in the state, including with "automated motor vehicles," and does not require a human safety driver or valet to be on board. This comes after Tesla robotaxis were reportedly captured on camera disobeying traffic laws in and around Austin during the company's pilot program. Although these incidents have not been reported as causing injuries or significant property damage, they have attracted federal scrutiny. Tesla gets Robotaxi permit in Texas: What we know so far Earlier this year, the EV company began offering a limited ride-hailing service in Austin, which was available only to invited participants. Most of these riders have been social media influencers and analysts, many of whom earn income by creating Tesla-related content on platforms such as X and YouTube. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How AI is redefining the future of work CIO | HP, AMD Undo The Austin fleet comprises Model Y vehicles fitted with Tesla's latest partially automated driving technology. Each ride includes a valet, or human safety supervisor, in the front passenger seat to step in if needed. The cars are also monitored remotely by staff at an operations centre. On Tesla's earnings call last month, Musk—who has described himself as 'pathologically optimistic'—said he believes the company could reach half of the US population with autonomous ride-hailing services by the end of 2025. However, there have been multiple reports about Tesla Robotaxi 'misbehaving' on the road. In one incident, Tesla content creator Joe Tegtmeyer said his robotaxi did not stop for a train crossing signal and lowering gate arm, prompting a Tesla employee on board to step in. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has also spoken with Tesla about the matter, a spokesperson for the agency told CNBC via email. Can These AI Glasses Replace Your Phone? Ray-Ban Meta Glasses Get Smarter for Low Vision Users. Here's How
If you haven't heard, AI now has eyes, and Meta has announced some enhancements for its Ray-Ban Meta glasses. You can now customize Meta AI to give detailed responses based on what's in the surrounding environment for your smart glasses, Meta said in a blog post for Global Accessibility Awareness Day. Artificial intelligence is opening a whole new world for accessibility, with new features coming out in droves. Tech giants like Google, Apple and Meta are putting forth a ton of effort to create a world where people with disabilities, such as low or no vision, can more easily interact with the world around them. While Live AI for the Meta glasses has been around, the additional enhancements for low vision users will undoubtedly be welcomed. Below are some of the other highlights from Meta's accessibility-focused blog post. For more, check out the glimpse of brain accessibility features headed to Apple devices. 'Call a volunteer' feature expanding to 18 countries While not an AI-focused feature, the Meta and Be My Eyes feature, Call a Volunteer, will soon be expanding to all 18 countries that Meta AI is currently available in. Launched in November 2024 in The US, Canada, UK, Ireland and Australia, the expansion of Call a Volunteer will be a very handy (and hands-free) feature for low vision users. Once set up, a Meta glasses user can simply ask AI to "Be My Eyes." From there, you'll be connected to one of over 8 million volunteers that will be able to view the live camera stream from your glasses and provide real-time assistance for whatever you need help with. The feature will be available to all supported countries later this month. Meta additional research and accessibility features Meta also detailed some of its existing features and research taking place in its effort to expand accessibility for its products, especially in the extended reality space. Features like live captions and live speech are currently available on devices like the Quest, Meta Horizon and Horizon Worlds. Also shown was a WhatsApp chatbot from Sign-Speaks that uses its API and Meta's Llama AI models. The chatbot allows live translation of American Sign Language to text and vice versa to create easier communication between deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
