Warring EastEnders legends put feud to bed after major news is issued

Cindy and Kathy put things to one side after some heartbreaking news (Picture: BBC/Kieron McCarron) You might want to sit down before reading on – Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) made some sort of truce in tonight's EastEnders. I wouldn't expect it to last, either. Let's face it, the two women haven't seen eye to eye for almost four decades. After all, Cindy is the one who tore Kathy's golden boy Ian's (Adam Woodyatt) life to shreds on more than one occasion. There was no joyful reunion between the pair when Cindy miraculously 'returned from the dead' in 2023, revealing that she had spent 25 years in witness protection. Kathy even warned Ian on numerous occasions that his apparently devoted partner would cheat on him again, and her suspicions went into fruition when Cindy hopped into bed with her former step-son Junior Knight (Micah Balfour). Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) decided to expose the affair on Christmas Day, also revealing that the mother-in-law from hell had been supplying her with drugs throughout her pregnancy. To cut a long story short, Kathy then picked up a snow shovel and whacked Cindy around the head with it. Brutal. The women have never seen eye to eye (Picture: BBC/Kieron McCarron) They were forced together in tonight's episode while caring for Louie (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) In a dramatic confrontation, Cindy learned her attacker's identity, shot Ian, and then pushed him towards a car that would go on to cause an explosion to ignite from within The Queen Vic pub. A shamed Cindy then fled the area, and upon her return, wanted revenge. She demanded that Kathy and Ian hand over their home and businesses to her, and eventually got her hands on The Prince Albert bar. But her revenge plan didn't stop there – she then played a video of Kathy kissing Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) in front of everyone. In tonight's episode, they came face to face once again during Lauren's hour of need. She had rushed her newborn baby Jimmy to the hospital, noticing that there was something strange with his eyesight. With Ian and Peter (Thomas Law) also heading there, youngster Louie (Jake McNally) had been left in Kathy's care. Lauren was told that her son is visually impaired (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Follow Metro Soaps on WhatsApp and get all the latest spoilers first! As he tucked into his chicken nuggets, Cindy swanned in and demanded some time with her grandson. Kathy was uncertain, but given the circumstances, she wasn't in the mood to argue. The two then kept vigil, anxiously awaiting for an update. Ian then called and broke some heartbreaking news – Jimmy's eyes haven't formed properly, and he will be visually impaired for the rest of his life. Suddenly, the animosity disappeared between Cindy and Kathy. As tears filled their eyes, they leaned onto one another for support. But for Cindy, is this a guilty conscience? Emmerdale's Joe Tate makes unexpected move as he regains consciousness

Joe Tate remembers everything (Picture: ITV) Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) was on edge in tonight's Emmerdale, as she learnt that Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) had been brought out of his coma. Joe has been in hospital since last Friday. He was pushed from a window at Home Farm by Dawn, who had learnt the truth about him and how he threatened her daughter Clemmie. This week, Dawn has spent time worrying about just how much Joe remembers about the ordeal. In tonight's episode, Kim Tate (Claire King) went to visit Joe and after their chat, he asked for her to send Dawn. As soon as she arrived, Joe confirmed that he remembers absolutely everything. This left Dawn to desperately explain herself, as she didn't want Joe to turn the tables and tell the police. Dawn Taylor has been confirmed as Joe Tate's attacker (Picture: ITV) Dawn said that she pushed Joe in an act of rage after finding out what he did to Clemmie, and also told him about the arguments she's been having with Billy. If Joe was pushed by anyone else, he would've dealt with the aftermath a completely different way. The fact he's clearly still in love with Dawn impacted his decisions massively, as he decided to not tell the police about her. But with this being Joe Tate, it wasn't going to really ever be that simple. He told Dawn that he'd save her from prison if she gave him another chance. He was adamant that he could rebuild the trust between them, and fix things between him and her children. Billy believes that Clemmie, Lucas and Evan shouldn't live at Home Farm (Picture: ITV) He was also particularly angry about Billy's threats towards Dawn, which saw him say that he wants full custody of Clemmie, Lucas and Evan in return for his silence. After Dawn left, Billy visited. Joe warned him and said that if he didn't play nice, he'd make sure he loses absolutely everything. The episode ended with Dawn left at a crossroads. Kim had found out about her pushing Joe, but oddly was quite understanding about the entire thing. She could see herself in Dawn and tried to give her some advice. Essentially, Dawn must now decide what her moral compass looks like. She could choose Joe and get back with him, live a life of luxury and ensure her children never go without. Or, she could refuse to forgive Joe after committing all of those crimes. It would mean she ends up a single parent and potentially face a custody battle with Billy, but it all depends on what is more important to her. Kim told her to go for it – but will she? All Coronation Street spoilers for next week as a legend's exit looms

There are shocks aplenty coming up in Coronation Street, with three episodes that Metro Soaps has affectionately dubbed Craig Week. This is, of course, because we're bidding farewell to Colson Smith as Craig Tinker after a 14 year stretch on the cobbles. The ITV soap is lining up a special dedicated set of instalments that will delve further into Kit Green's (Jacob Roberts) history with dastardly Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton). Poor Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) is caught in the crossfire as the men come face to face – with Mick promising that he won't leave without blood on his hands, while Craig is seemingly attacked on duty. His life hangs in the balance as his loved ones rush to the hospital, but will he make it out alive? If early reports are anything to go by, probably not. Plus, when Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) makes a bid for a happier future, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) left in charge of her young children. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Here's a look at everything that's happening in Weatherfield next week… When Bernie catches Brody shoplifting, Kit begins to pursue him. The altercation leads to more words said between the copper and Mick, who lets slip that Lou isn't as loyal as she makes out to be. Furious, Mick confronts his wife and tension quickly begins to rise. Sean (Antony Cotton) and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) then become concerned when they're unable to get in touch with her, and fear that she might have been attacked. Fearing the worst, Sean marches down to the station and decides to change his earlier statement that would've incriminated Mick for assaulting him. Back on the cobbles, Lou nurses a head wound, and urges Mick to come home and talk. Instead, he races off in his van and when Kit calls him, he blames him for everything that has ever gone wrong in his life and has now decided to take matters into his own hands. Elsewhere, Craig is thrilled to be able to shadow Kit as part of his CID placement and to his excitement, he's even secured a date with someone from an app. Later, he feels slightly deflated after noticing that Kit has ignored him all day. Lisa (Vicky Myers) tells Craig to prove to him that he's capable of achieving great things, and when he's called out to a disturbance, it could be just the ticket. Something has gone terribly wrong and Maria (Samia Longchambon) finds Craig bleeding to death on the pavement. An ambulance is called, and Asha (Tanisha Gorey) rushes him to the hospital. In intensive care, Lisa learns that he has swelling on the brain. Luckily, he regains consciousness just in time to tell Asha what he knows about his attack. However, when colleague Jess (Donnaleigh Bailey) arrives to question him, his condition seriously deteriorates. Elsewhere, Lou tells daughters Shanice and Joanie that they need to leave for a few days. Tim picks them up in his cab, but when he notices the cut to her head, insists that they stop by A&E first. The nurse realises that she's in an abusive relationship, but Lou refuses to admit to it and does a runner. Tim is stunned when he's left with the two youngsters. At the Redbank Apartments, Sarah (Tina O'Brien) enters her flat and has no idea that Mick has followed her there – and is looking for Kit. He declares that his old mate has ruined his life, and she must summon him to the building so that he can kill him. Bernie somehow finds herself as Mick's hostage, and he decides to use her as a way to bargain with Kit. She assures Mick that he's mistaken, as the relationship between mother and son is so fractured that Kit doesn't care where she is. When the copper does arrive, he realises that Bernie's life is in danger. She makes a plea to Kit, trying to tell him that she attempted contact on multiple occasions but his adoptive mother wouldn't allow it. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Will Kit risk his mum's life, or walk away? More Trending Back at the hospital, Lisa takes a call from Jess, who fills her in on the situation. Tim, Sally (Sally Dynevor) Gemma and Chesney (Sam Aston) are appalled by the situation, and comfort one another following a difficult day. Kirk (Andrew Whyment) then has to make a difficult call to Beth (Lisa George), to explain what has happened to Craig. Elsewhere, Tim wonders where Lou has fled to as he supports Shanice and Joanie, and Lisa tells Carla (Alison King) that she wants to find happiness wherever she can after the traumatic day. Hopes for legendary EastEnders couple as show icon contemplates reunion

Could a Phil and Sharon reunion be on the cards? (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) could reunite with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) in EastEnders after some wise words from Linda Carter (Kellie Bright). As viewers of the BBC One soap know, Phil had hopes of reuniting with her, but that idea was blown out of the water. Earlier this year, Sharon reunited with ex-hubby Grant (Ross Kemp) when they hooked up as he supported her following the loss of close friend Martin Fowler (James Bye). At the same time, Sharon's other ex-husband, and Grant's brother, Phil was spending time in a mental health facility following a devastating suicide attempt. She was left concerned about the impact on Phil if he was to ever find out, but her secret has been a ticking timebomb when Teddy and Nicola Mitchell (Roland Manookian and Laura Doddington) uncovered the truth. Phil, home from the psychiatric hospital, was convinced by best pal Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) to open up about his underlying feelings for her. As Sharon reciprocated, the pair had an emotional reunion and kissed, as Phil also shared candid details of his mental health struggle. However, she was left guilt-ridden and decided to confess everything. Sharon packed her bags and made a swift exit (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Linda had received a call, but Phil was reluctant to reach out (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes) His heart was broken, and she soon darted off from her troubles – staying with granddaughter Alyssa and her mother Jada. Earlier this week, Linda received a call from her asking Phil to reach out. She was unaware of the reason why they'd fallen out, and thought that it would be beneficial for his mental health. Phil slammed the idea – and revealed about Sharon's dalliance with his brother. In tonight's episode, we were given another update on the matter. Linda had been back in touch with Sharon, who told her that she deeply regrets sleeping with Grant. Phil was left with food for thought (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Follow Metro Soaps on WhatsApp and get all the latest spoilers first! Unwilling to listen, Linda had to corner Phil in the pub to try her best to convince him that a reunion would be a good thing – and to not to let his macho pride get in the way. Phil reflected on her words, and realised that they bared a striking resemblance to something his late mum Peggy told him. It's also 9 years ago this week since she passed, and the memory of her is clearly weighing heavy on him. After realising he should put his son Albie first, Phil began to contemplate speaking with Sharon again. Could a romance blossom upon her return? 10 character interactions that need to happen in Corrie and Emmerdale crossover

ITV soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale are set to make history next year when they air the first soap crossover episode. The special episode will mark the beginning of a new scheduling pattern for the shows, and will see characters from both Weatherfield and Emmerdale interact. Of course, this news immediately got our brains whirring with possibilities as we debated the countless scenarios that could be set to play out. So, without further ado, here are the characters the Metro Soaps team are desperate to see interact. As two of the longest serving soap stars, it would be a missed opportunity not to have Ken Barlow (William Roache) and Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) discuss the history of their communities. Throw in Corrie's Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) and Emmerdale's Rodney Blackstock (Patrick Mower) and Jimmy King (Nick Miles), and you have the recipe for a delicious soap scene packed with nostalgia. Soaps often cover hard-hitting and topical issues, so it is unsurprising that their characters have similar experiences. Two such characters are Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) and Ross Barton (Michael Parr), who both fell victim to acid attacks in terrifying scenes. Having the two men candidly discuss their experience would be a moving and important scene, which could serve to further highlight the impact of such a violent crime. In a battle of scheming soap murderesses, we're not sure who would come out on top between Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), but one thing is for certain: We're desperate to find out! We're sure there'd be cutting remarks aplenty and more than one punch thrown, and though we certainly don't condone violence, we'd be totally here for it. Real-life twins Isabella and William Flanagan are Corrie icons, having played Hope Stape and Joseph Brown respectively since their early childhoods. Throw into the mix their older sister Amelia Flanagan, aka Emmerdale's April Windsor, and we'd get the whole clan together on screen! Surely a moment to remember for their proud parents. We can only imagine the level of chaos that putting Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) in a room with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) would bring – not to mention the noise complaints! These two icons would certainly bring the entertainment, and we need to see them whack out a karaoke duet immediately. Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) have a lot in common, which could either be a match made in heaven or a complete disaster. Either way, excellent television. These two political figures would no doubt put the world to rights with a lengthy debate and plenty of gossip. The topics that could come up in a conversation between Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) truly know no bounds, which makes them the perfect pair to sit together and enjoy a pint. We just know that by the end of the night Sam would have Kirk drinking out of the welly! Leanne Battersby actress Jane Danson has thrown out her own suggestion of pairing Leanne with Emmerdale bad boy Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). New romance on the cards, anyone? They'd certainly give each other a run for their money, and Leanne is currently single… We can definitely get behind this! It's not just the humans that we want to see mixing. We're huge fans of local pooches Freddie and Piper, and a little scene between the two of them would be the icing on top of the cake. More Trending What's better than one adorable puppy? Two adorable puppies. We just need any Corrie character to go up to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) and tell him he looks really familiar. This could also apply to Kim Tate (Claire King) and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson).
