A difficult road (Picture: ITV)
Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) offered to be Sarah Sugden's (Katie Hill) surrogate when she thought there were no other options, but that selfless offer may be coming back to bite her in Emmerdale.
When Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) originally dropped the idea of surrogacy in Sarah's lap Charity was livid – that he would get her hopes up with something that was never going to be viable.
Dr Liam (Jonny McPherson) confirmed as much when he told Cain that no agency would touch her with a barge pole given her life expectancy, among other things.
Cain then got himself scammed by an agency who took his money and ran, leaving everyone desperate, distraught, and back to square one. So, Charity stepped up.

She chose not to share this monumental decision with husband Mack (Lawrence Robb), however, and instead he found out from busybody Pollard (Chris Chittell), and when he learned that his wife planned to carry her great grandchild, he had a few things to say about it.
But as things stand, it's full steam ahead with Sarah giddy with excitement over this new plan. She and Charity get prepared for their hospital visit while Mack busies himself with work to try and forget.
When he bumps into best pal Aaron (Danny Miller) and confesses he won't be going to the hospital, Aaron tries to get him to have a rethink.

Mack takes his advice and rushes to the clinic, where Charity tells him all went well. Mack is desperate to tell her how he really feels, but he just can't find the words. If he's not careful, it'll soon be too late.
Before he can, Charity reveals something of her own – Sarah and Jacob's attentiveness has left her feeling completely overwhelmed, and it's only a sign of things to come.
When she gets Mack alone, she confesses her true feelings, and it's a great opportunity for him to do the same. But will he?

Theo's behaviour leaves Todd confused in Corrie as he taken away by the police

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce)'s relationship with Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) in Coronation Street hasn't been plain sailing by any means. It was quickly revealed that Theo was struggling with his sexuality. As their relationship has developed we've learned more about Theo's past and that he endured a very bigoted upbringing in which he was put through conversion therapy to try to 'cure' his gay feelings. This has left him with lasting trauma, and the reappearance of a man called Noah (Richard Winsor) – who was involved in the conversion therapy and still wants to 'save' Theo from himself – has made things so much worse. Noah is in a relationship with Theo's estranged wife, Danielle (Natalie Anderson), and this has further complicated an already difficult situation, with Theo's love for his children being used against him. What doesn't seem to be in doubt is his affection for Todd, with Theo recently suggesting they should try to find a place of their own to live together. But there have been hints that Theo's attitude to Todd can be quite controlling, as we saw when Todd was getting close to James Bailey (Jason Callender) and Theo warned him off. 'We're starting to spot some anger management issues on Theo's part, at the very least,' Gareth Pierce told Metro. 'There's some flashes of anger that have left Todd shocked but equally, because he's had that insight into the conversion therapy and where Theo is coming into this new life from, he's perhaps willing to guide him through it. 'Our audience are probably also spotting some of those flashes of jealousy and perhaps a kind of need to control that maybe Todd is not currently spotting or doesn't want to spot.' This behaviour is in the spotlight again in coming episodes. Todd is excited to hear that the corner shop flat is up for rent and suggests to Theo that they could consider it. But soon Theo is irritated when Todd decides to bring George (Tony Maudsley) to Dev (Jimmi Harkishin)'s stag do. As Todd starts enjoying himself at the party, Theo says he has a headache and insists they go home. Soon after this incident, Theo suggests a night out and is annoyed when Todd says he planned to spend the evening with Summer (Harriet Bibby). When she tells Theo he's very welcome to join them for pizza in front of the telly, he refuses and sulkily says he's going to the pub. There's a more disturbing incident to come. Theo is approached by police officer Jess (Donnaleigh Bailey), who says there's been a report of an incident at the precinct and he needs to come to the police station to answer questions. Lucy Spraggan ‘clashed heads a bit' with boxer Conor Benn on Celebrity SAS

Singer Lucy Spraggan has said she 'clashed heads a bit' with boxer Conor Benn during her time on Channel 4's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The 32-year-old singer, who made her name on ITV singing show The X-Factor, will appear in the military reality show's latest series when it airs on Sunday at 9pm – having watched it 'avidly' and written about it in her diary when she was younger. Advertisement Spraggan said she ended up befriending Benn, and became so close with drag artist Bimini Bon Boulash, former Love Island star Adam Collard and Michaella McCollum, who was jailed for smuggling cocaine in Peru with Melissa Reid in 2013, during her time on the show, that she invited them to her wedding. The singer, who is best known for her songs Last Night (Beer Fear), Lighthouse and Tea And Toast, said: 'To be honest, it was mainly Michaella, Bimini, Troy, Adam (that she got on with best) but I also got on with Conor too, although we did clash heads a bit. 'It was only to do with him not really liking direction and I was picked to direct one of the tasks. 'I thought Adam was such a great guy. As a woman, when a man really makes you feel comfortable around them, he was that for me the whole time. Adam, Bimini and Michaella came to my wedding after the show.' Advertisement Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins sees celebrities enter SAS training, where they are not eliminated and are instead culled by the directing staff or able to withdraw themselves, with those who remain at the end declared the winners. Fellow contestant Chloe Burrows, best known for finishing second on Love Island series seven in 2021, described her time on the show as 'hell on earth', and added that she 'wasn't in great nick going in'. The 29-year-old said: 'It lived up to my expectations, but in my wildest dreams, it was much more intense, much more straining. 'It was so much more intense than I thought it could be, but because of all the stuff you don't see on camera, if that makes sense. Advertisement 'I would actually love the opportunity to give it another go. I know Pete Wicks has given it another shot. If I did I would say to my management I need a month off and I'm going to train, get SAS ready beforehand.' Benn, who is the son of former boxer Nigel Benn, said he was inspired by his father's time in the military to join the programme, and added that the only thing that would have scared him on the show was spiders. He said: 'It definitely lived up to my expectations. It was very real. It was brutal, intense, can be mind-breaking. 'But in a weird way, if you sort of ride the storm, you find yourself and find out what you're about, who you are. I find out who I am when I'm in the ring with another man. Advertisement 'Whereas for the other celebrities, who don't have to go to that place to really find out what minerals they're made of, this is the perfect test. They can find out if they're strong and put their resilience to the test.' The rest of the recruits will be made up of former footballers Adebayo Akinfenwa and Troy Deeney, TV dancer Louie Spence, Strictly Come Dancing 2025 runner-up Tasha Ghouri, former The Traitors winner Harry Clark, singer Hannah Spearritt, model Rebecca Loos, and rapper Lady Leshurr. Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, airs on Channel 4 at 9pm on Sunday, and will continue on Sundays and Mondays throughout August.

EastEnders star set to make surprise return to the soap three years after leaving Albert Square

An EastEnders star is reportedly set to make surprise return to the soap three years after leaving Albert Square. The character, who first set foot in Albert Square back in 2018 had a spell of intense storylines over the years. Stuart Highway will make an appearance in Walford for a 'limited period,' but is set to cause some drama, according to The Sun. Played by Ricky Champ, 45, he left the soap in 2022 alongside his on-screen wife Rainie Cross (played by Tanya Franks). Stuarts major stories included confessing to accidentally killing DI Steve Thompson (Philip Wright) - who later turned out be alive. He also admitted to being a vigilante paedophile hunter which stemmed from being sexually abused as a child. Stuart was at the centre of a father's post-natal depression storyline, with the character struggling to bond with his baby Roland. He had struggled with his mental health after his diagnosis with breast cancer and had trouble adjusting to parenthood after he and wife Rainie (Tanya Franks) tried for a child for a long time. 'In EastEnders I went from villain to hero to dad,' he told Digital Spy at the time of his exit. 'It was amazing, doing that for five years with a character's arc. It felt weird leaving him,' he admitted. At the time Ricky didn't rule out a return to the soap someday, as he claimed that anything was possible. 'He didn't die. He rode off into the sunset. I think he's somewhere in the North Circular living with Rainie,' he said of his character. Outside of EastEnders, Ricky's additional ventures include his role as Paul Parker in the BBC Three sitcom Him & Her and a Games Of Thrones appearance as Gatins. Daily Mail has contacted the BBC for comment. 'In EastEnders I went from villain to hero to dad,' he told Digital Spy at the time of his exit in 2022 but he will be back for a 'limited period' Elsewhere, an EastEnders legend is facing the sack after a whopping 40 years in job - and fans of the BBC soap aren't happy about it. Beloved character Tracey, who is played by actress Jane Slaughter, has been on the show since 1985. Over the years the barmaid, who rarely has any speaking lines, has become a huge fan favourite while serving many punters at the Queen Vic. But a recent episode of EastEnders raised a few alarm bells with viewers after Kat Slater's (Jessie Wallace) nephew Freddie (Bobby Brazier) put forward the idea of working for her and take over from Tracey. Kat and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) became the new owners of the pub earlier this month, after taking over from Linda Carter (Kellie Bright). During Tuesday's instalment of the BBC show, Freddie asked for a job, but was told that they didn't have enough money for him to join the team behind the bar. Freddie went on to tell Alfie and Kat that he would be able to work for half of what Tracey is currently paid. It's no wonder that the bartender is such a popular character on the show, having been on EastEnders since the very beginning. Tracey appeared on the very first episode back in 1985. She is the longest-serving character to ever take part in the popular programme having no breaks or exits. Although the character rarely says a word on the show, back in 2022 she made a shocking revelation about Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden). She confessed that Phil was the 'best sex she's ever had'
