DeMarcus Cousins kicked off Puerto Rican basketball team after heated exchange with fans turns physical

Former NBA star Demarcus Cousins was booted from his team in Puerto Rico for the remainder of the season after an ugly altercation with fans during a game Monday. The Baloncesto Superior Nacional league announced Tuesday that Cousins was kicked off the Mets de Guaynabo after a vile gesture toward a fan, grabbing his genitals to mock the fan as the fan flipped both his middle fingers. Cousins then grabbed the fan's arm as the incident started turning physical. Another fan from behind the courtside seat where the first fan was seated came to the first fan's aid, swiping at Cousins, who started to bark something back to him. Cousins was ejected from the game, but things got even uglier as he tried to leave the court. Cousins, flipping off the crowd as he was walking to the tunnel, grabbed at a fan yelling at him. They made contact with one another, and the fan proceeded to throw a beverage at the former NBA All-Star. Other fans joined in, throwing drinks and other objects at Cousins. Cousins was irate and had to be held back from going after fans. In addition to being banned for the rest of the season, Cousins was fined $4,250. Cousins' fine could increase to $10,000 if he fails to "show cause" as to why it shouldn't. Cousins, the former Kentucky Wildcats star taken fifth overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season, when he played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets. Cousins was a four-time All-Star during his 11 NBA seasons. Since his last game with Denver, Cousins has played in Mongolia, Puerto Rico and the Big3 League run by actor and rapper Ice Cube. Former NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins nearly comes to blows with fans after drinks thrown in his direction

A former NBA All-Star had to be separated from fans who tossed drinks toward him after he was ejected from a game in Puerto Rico. DeMarcus Cousins, playing for Mets de Guaynabo in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional, was tossed from a game on Monday night and nearly came to blows with numerous attendees. While exiting the court, Cousins was ridiculed by fans, with many of them waving goodbye. But others flipped the bird, with one in particular setting Cousins off. One fan gave Cousins the middle finger right in his face, and Cousins responded by reaching out to grab the fan. Cousins then continued walking, but that same fan then launched his drink toward Cousins. Several other fans followed by throwing debris onto Cousins, who turned around and had to be taken down by security. Earlier in the contest, one fan mocked Cousins with a crying gesture, to which Cousins responded by grabbing his genitals. He and that fan also had to be separated. Cousins' squad lost, 101-92, to Vaqueros de Bayamon, where JaVale McGee, Theo Pinson and Danilo Gallinari all play. Cousins, a four-time All-Star and fifth pick in the 2010 NBA Draft out of Kentucky, last played in the NBA in the 2021-22 season, where he suited up for both the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets. The 34-year-old was on a Hall of Fame trajectory early in his career, averaging 25.2 points and 11.9 rebounds from 2014 through 2018 while playing for both the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans. He then spent the 2018-19 season with the Golden State Warriors, but was injured and missed entire next season. Afterward, he played in just 89 games, started 18 of them, and averaged just 8.9 points and 6 boards. Moment ex-NBA superstar swings punches and brawls with fans after being ejected in shocking scenes

This is the barely-believable moment four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins brawled with fans and had to be dragged away by security after being ejected. Cousins has been out of the NBA for three years and is currently plying his trade in Puerto Rico, where things turned ugly on Monday night. The 34-year-old was playing for Mets de Guaynabo against Bayamon when things turned ugly after a fan began swearing and holding his middle fingers up. Cousins' response was caught on camera from various angles by fans inside the arena, with the ex-NBA star grabbing his crotch and getting in the man's face. Cousins then lays a hand on the man, before being pulled away by a teammate as tempers continue to rise. A second fan then gets involved before Cousins is dragged to the other side of the court by a teammate, where it is then claimed he got ejected from the game. Otro ángulo... Así empezó todo. Initially, the former first-round pick can be seen putting his middle finger into the faces of various fans, before the drinks rain down on him and cause him to snap. He swings punches at those around him, before security bundle him to the ground in a failed attempt to calm the situation down. Cousins can then be seen getting back to his feet, sparking more drinks to land on him, further enraging the basketball star.
