Moment ex-NBA superstar swings punches and brawls with fans after being ejected in shocking scenes

Daily Mail19 hours ago

This is the barely-believable moment four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins brawled with fans and had to be dragged away by security after being ejected.
Cousins has been out of the NBA for three years and is currently plying his trade in Puerto Rico, where things turned ugly on Monday night.
The 34-year-old was playing for Mets de Guaynabo against Bayamon when things turned ugly after a fan began swearing and holding his middle fingers up.
Cousins' response was caught on camera from various angles by fans inside the arena, with the ex-NBA star grabbing his crotch and getting in the man's face.
Cousins then lays a hand on the man, before being pulled away by a teammate as tempers continue to rise.
A second fan then gets involved before Cousins is dragged to the other side of the court by a teammate, where it is then claimed he got ejected from the game.

A new angle then shows an incredible second incident, in which fans appear to throw various drinks at Cousins, which leads to the red mist descending.
Initially, the former first-round pick can be seen putting his middle finger into the faces of various fans, before the drinks rain down on him and cause him to snap.
He swings punches at those around him, before security bundle him to the ground in a failed attempt to calm the situation down.
Cousins can then be seen getting back to his feet, sparking more drinks to land on him, further enraging the basketball star.

He is then pulled down the tunnel and away from the baying mob.
The 6-foot-10 center is a four-time All-Star who began his career in Sacramento, before spending time in New Orleans, Golden State, Houston, LA, Milwaukee and Denver in a 12-year NBA career.
In the past three years he has bounced around teams in Taiwan and Puerto Rico, currently playing in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional.

Ex-Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo breaks silence after being accused by his former club of being 'visibly intoxicated', urinating on their property and hospitalising two youth players

Nicolo Zaniolo has insisted he has not committed 'any violent acts' but admitted he did not act in 'the most appropriate way' after being accused of hospitalising two youth players in a dressing room brawl. Roma initially brought the alleged incident to light shortly after their Primavera championship semi-final against Fiorentina - the club that Zaniolo spent last season on loan at from Turkish side Galatasaray. After Fiorentina claimed a 2-1 victory to book their place in the final of the youth team competition, Zaniolo is said to have gone to Roma's locker room. The Italian, who made 128 appearances for Roma between 2018 and 2023, took to Instagram to address the matter, protest his innocence, while apologising for failing to conduct himself in a manner befitting someone of his level of seniority. 'Obviously I cannot go into the merits of the explanations I have provided regarding the dynamics of the events, which I believe to be conclusive,' he wrote. 'I reiterate that I have not committed any aggressive or violent acts against anyone, but that I was the target of unjustified insults and provocations by some AS Roma members; nevertheless, I recognize that I did not react in the most appropriate way given my role and experience. 'I have always believed in the values of sport and in the importance of providing young people with positive role models: I am sorry that I have failed in this responsibility and I promise to treasure this unpleasant experience for the future.' In a statement last month, alleged that Zaniolo 'engaged in provocative behaviour' and physically struck two of their players. They later doubled down on the claim and provided details on the alleged altercation, with the club accusing Zaniolo of being 'visibly intoxicated' and urinating on their property. Roma's statement read: 'On the evening of May 26, following the Primavera semi-final match Fiorentina vs AS Roma at Viola Park, Nicolo Zaniolo (Fiorentina first team) unlawfully entered the Roma dressing room area accompanied by an associate, despite lacking accreditation. Witnesses report Zaniolo appeared visibly intoxicated. He urinated in Roma facilities, provoked players, and, without verbal exchange, physically struck Mattia Almaviva and violently pushed Marco Litti against a bench. 'Litti had recently undergone shoulder surgery. Both players required hospitalization: Almaviva received a 10-day recovery prognosis, Litti 21 days. 'AS Roma stands firmly by its youth players and is appalled by the violent and unjustifiable behavior witnessed at Viola Park. 'We trust that the institutions will act decisively to ensure accountability and protect the values of Italian football.' The FIGC - Italy's football federation - launched an investigation, which could see Zaniolo handed a lengthy ban if found guilty of any wrongdoing. Zaniolo, who spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Aston Villa, denied the allegations made against him after Roma's statement. He has now revealed that he has given evidence to federal prosecutors in the case.

Shaquille O'Neal sets the record straight on scandalous NBA relationships rumor

Basketball Hall-of-Famer and four-time NBA champion Shaquille O'Neal opened up about what really goes on when stars in the league go on the road. O'Neal was recently hosting an episode of his show, 'The Big Podcast', with fellow TNT personality Adam Lefkoe. In that episode, Lefkoe made the off-hand remark about fame-chasing women, saying 'every city you go to [as an NBA player], the women are looking for you.' But O'Neal rebuffed that assumption, saying that 'never happened' in his career - which spanned over 1,200 regular season games. 'That's a myth,' the 53-year-old O'Neal said, 'I've been in a lot of lobbies — I didn't see anybody. 'So I remember I was coming in; they did this 'Esquire' article about how the girls would be waiting out. So, I was looking for that. Never happened. Never happened. 'Trust me, I was the baddest on the road. It never happened. You go and you see people.' Shaq and Lefkoe were joined on this episode by former NBA guard Brandon Jennings, who agreed with O'Neal's assessment. From there, 'Diesel' explained how hard it was to make a relationship work while living on the road. 'The problem with us is when you live a certain lifestyle, and then it all shuts down, you only know what you know,' O'Neal said. 'So, if you don't know the rules of commitment, it'll never work. And then, you know, us being not committed, everything is an excuse. Because once you say to somebody, 'I'm going to commit,' you've got to do your f***ing job as a man. Right?' 'Once I say, 'You're my girlfriend,' do your job as a man. Everything else is an excuse. All that — there is so much into that. Once I say I commit to you, I'm supposed to do that as a man. I didn't do that. That's why all s–t has always failed. 'But if you live a tiger lifestyle and then you try to become a tame tiger — it ain't going to work. It's not going to work. 'So, you know, there's a reason why the divorce rate is high. Because we live a — and not all of us — but like, we live a certain lifestyle. And a lot comes with it. 'And then when that's all stopping, and you trying to go out and look for that, if you don't understand their rules and understand their laws — it'll never work.' O'Neal hasn't shied away from admitting to mistakes that he's made in past relationships. Back in 2023, he spoke to rapper and R&B singer Monica on her Apple Music Hits show 'Mo Talk Radio', where he admitted to 'being dumb' in two of his past relationships with 'two perfect women'. 'My first one was my baby mother, Arnetta [Yardbourgh], and then I met [his now ex-wife] Shaunie [Nelson]. Shaunie was also a perfect woman and I messed it up,' he said. 'Yeah, you know, we were young and always just doing dumb stuff. But, the good thing about our relationship is that they forgave me and we have a good relationship now. But when you ask me about the perfect woman — I had two perfect women and I messed it up, just by, you know, being dumb.' O'Neal and Shaunie were married for nine years before divorcing in 2011. They share four children: Shareef (who plays in the NBA's G-League), Amirah (who played college basketball at LSU and Texas Southern), Shaqir (who currently plays at Florida A&M) and Me'arah (who just wrapped up her freshman year on the University of Florida's women's basketball team).

Ex-NBA star DeMarcus Cousins ejected after ugly fracas with fans in Puerto Rico

DeMarcus Cousins was ejected from a game in Puerto Rico on Monday night after a heated confrontation with a courtside fan and a hostile exit that nearly escalated into chaos. The 34-year-old former NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist, now playing for Mets de Guaynabo in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), got into a verbal altercation with a fan during a timeout in the fourth quarter. Video shows Cousins grabbing his crotch at the fan, who responded by flipping him off. Cousins then appeared to slap at the man before teammates stepped in. Officials ejected Cousins, but the situation worsened as he left the court. Fans booed and threw drinks and food as Cousins shouted back and flipped his middle finger at the crowd. #BSNPR | [VÍDEO]: Así fue que comenzó la situación de Demarcus Cousins cuando un fanático comenzó a tener una discusión con el jugador desde las gradas. 🎥 @ElPodcastPPP At one point, Cousins lunged toward the stands and had to be physically restrained by teammates and security. The moment drew instant comparisons to the infamous Malice at the Palace incident in 2004, though no further violence occurred. Security eventually escorted Cousins to the locker room, soaked in beer and visibly agitated. No formal discipline had been announced as of Tuesday. BSN officials are reviewing the incident. Cousins returned to Guaynabo this season after playing in Taiwan and Mongolia. He first joined the Mets in 2023. Drafted fifth overall in 2010, Cousins was a dominant NBA big man for much of the 2010s. He averaged 19.6 points and 10.2 rebounds over 11 seasons and made four straight All-Star teams. Injuries, including a torn achilles and acl, derailed his career. His last NBA appearances came in the 2021–22 season with Denver and Milwaukee. Since then, Cousins has continued playing internationally. His return to the BSN this year was seen as a chance to revive his profile. That opportunity may now be in jeopardy. The Mets have not commented on whether Cousins will face further punishment or remain with the team. BSN president Ricardo Dalmau is expected to address the matter this week.
