Reward offered in 2018 shooting death of Dayton mom

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Nearly seven years ago, a young mother was in the wrong place at the wrong time; Adriaunna Jackson was shot and killed after leaving a club, but police never found who fired the fatal shots. Miami Valley Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information on who pulled the trigger. Four days after Adriaunna's 21st birthday, her life was cut short. On July 6, 2018, multiple police cruisers rushed to West Siebenthaler Avenue and North Main Street after reports of gunfire just before 4 a.m. Dayton Police determined a dark colored Chevrolet Impala pulled up to a white Pontiac Grand Prix at the intersection and opened fire on the vehicle. Inside the white Pontiac Grand Prix riddled with bullet holes was 21-year-old Adriaunna. She was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where she died. Two other people were in the car. One was not hurt. The other was shot but survived. Nearly seven years later, the case is still open. Dayton Police Detective Angela Woody is working to close it. 'The more time that passes always creates a bigger challenge for law enforcement to get a case solved. But there is always the opportunity that there could be information out there that we missed or we didn't get and maybe someone's circumstances have changed,' states Detective Woody. Dayton Police say the shooting stemmed from some kind of argument at a club in Harrison Township, which was less than two miles away from the crime scene. 'There had been a fight the night before at Club Plush. The belief is that somehow, that fight led to this shooting incident,' details Detective Woody. Hoping for witnesses to come forward and fill in some of the missing information, Miami Valley Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward leading to an arrest and conviction. 'Her family still wants answers, and no one's been held accountable,' states Detective Woody. If you have any information, report it to Crime Stoppers at 937-222-7867. You will remain anonymous.
