Miami Valley Fire District unveils new Engine 55

MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) — The Miami Valley Fire District unveiled its newest fire engine Tuesday afternoon. MVFD held a traditional push-in ceremony for Engine 55 at Station 55, located at the corner of Jomar Avenue and Springboro Pike in Moraine. The ceremony is held each time a department receives and backs the firetruck up for the first time. Neighbors in the area won't notice a big difference in appearance in comparison from the old one, as it looks quite similar. The engine will make first responders more prepared by having the new vehicle. 'It's safe, it's modern technology for our firefighters,' said Brandon Barnett, assistant fire chief at Miami Valley Fire District. 'That just extends out to the citizens, so it makes the citizens in this area a lot safer.' Voters passed the MVFD's levy in 2022, which helped the organization purchase the new vehicle. The district serves residents of Miamisburg and Miami Township. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
