Drive launched to assess activities of govt schools
Hubballi: The education department is set to launch a drive titled 'Minchina Sanchara' to assess the activities and conditions of all govt schools in the district. A total of 11 teams, including 150 officials, will visit around 800 schools and review their activities. The officers will gather information regarding various aspects of the schools, including their startup procedures, developmental progress, infrastructure, and past academic results. They will collect the required data using a predetermined format that encompasses 30 key points of evaluation. The drive, which is slated to run until June 13, is aimed at ensuring that school management is not lax at the beginning of the academic year. Shanamuk Swamy Keladimath, deputy director of public instruction, told TOI that the officials were directed to spend about 1 hour inspecting facilities such as the condition of classrooms, toilets, sports centres, distribution of notebooks and textbooks, attendance of students and staff, registration, mid-day meal scheme and drinking water facilities. SM Hudedmani, deputy project coordinator, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan at the DDPI office, said the team comprises block education officer, block resource persons), and cluster resource persons and education officers to visit schools. Hudedamani said he visited some schools and received information from school management about the distribution of notebooks, uniforms, cleanliness of toilets, etc. After visiting the schools, the officials will send a report to DDPI for further action.

Schools in Dharwad begin new academic year today
Hubballi: The govt schools started their academic year as preparations were done on Thursday to reopen classes from Friday. School management opened the schools for cleaning activities to commence the classes from May 30. The school management cleaned the schools.
