10th Local Date Festival sees more than 58,000 visitors
The 10th Local Date Festival, organised by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment and Souq Waqif Management, witnessed a remarkable public turnout. The number of visitors by the ninth day had reached more than 58,000, with more than 115,000 kg of local dates sold, amid widespread participation from local farms. Total sales of dates have exceeded an impressive 115,300 kilograms. It includes 49,045 kilograms of Khalas dates, 24,218 kilograms of Shishi dates, 22,859 kilograms of Khunaizi dates, 10,912 kilograms of Barhi dates, and 8,232 kilograms of other assorted varieties. Additionally, around 1,423 kilograms of fruit have been successfully marketed, reflecting the growing demand for local produce. Now in its 10th edition, the Local Date Festival has attracted approximately 58,400 visitors, demonstrating the strong public interest in locally grown dates and agricultural products. page 3

Local Dates Festival sees record sales
Tribune News Network Doha The 10th Local Dates Festival, organised by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment — represented by the Department of Agricultural Affairs in collaboration with Souq Waqif Management — has recorded impressive sales and public turnout during its first week. From its launch on Thursday, July 24, through Tuesday, July 29, the festival recorded total date sales of approximately 79,421 kilograms, broken down as follows: Ikhlas: 33,181 kg; Shishi: 17,139 kg; Khalas (Pig): 16,645 kg; Barhi: 7,036 kg, and Other varieties: 5,420 kg. In addition, fruit sales during the same period reached 978 kilograms. page 16
