King Mohammed VI to Deliver Throne Day Speech Tonight
Rabat – King Mohammed VI will deliver a speech tonight commemorating the 26th anniversary of his accession to the Throne. In a statement earlier today, the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced that Morocco's television channels and national radios will broadcast the speech starting at 9 p.m. Moroccan time. The ministry said the King will also preside over the ceremony commemorating the Throne Day on Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday afternoon, the monarch will chair a reception at the prefecture square of M'diq-Fnideq in the city of M'Diq. The following day, the monarch will preside over the oath-taking ceremony at the Mechouar square in the royal palace in Tetouan. During the ceremony, new officers from various military, paramilitary, and civilian schools and institutes will swear allegiance before the King. The monarch will also offer a luncheon on Thursday. King Mohammed VI ascended to the throne on July 30, 1999, following the death of his father, the late King Hassan II. Under his leadership, Morocco witnessed waves of reforms, contributing to socio-economic development and infrastructure revamping. Every year, King Mohammed VI addresses Morocco's people with speeches tackling several topics from Morocco's momentum in the Western Sahara dossier to the socio-political and economic challenges the country is committed to addressing. Last year, the monarch's speech focused on renewing his commitment to the Moroccan diaspora. In the speech, he re-instructed the government to enhance efforts in supporting diaspora projects and facilitating administrative procedures to facilitate and accompany their business ventures in Morocco.

King Mohammed VI to Perform Eid Al-Adha Prayer in Tetouan
Rabat – King Mohammed VI will lead the blessed Eid Al-Adha prayer on Saturday, 10th Dhu al-Hijjah 1446, equivalent to Saturday, June 7 this year, at the Hassan II Mosque Tetouan. The ceremony will be broadcast live on national radio and television starting at 11 a.m., according to a statement from the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery. 'The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery announces that King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine, may God assist Him, will perform the Eid Al-Adha prayer tomorrow, Saturday, the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 H, corresponding to June 7, 2025, at the Hassan II Mosque in the city of Tetouan,' the statement read. Eid Al-Adha , one of the most significant holidays in the Islamic calendar, honors Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. The occasion is observed with communal prayers, shared meals, and acts of charity. In Morocco, the celebration is marked by cultural traditions, with people wearing traditional attire like the 'jellaba' and 'balgha', while children are often gifted new clothes. On the morning of Eid, families gather at mosques or open prayer grounds known as 'musallas' to perform the Eid prayers together. Unfortunately for this year, the King announced the cancellation of the Eid Al-Adha sacrifice due to a combination of challenging circumstances. Minister of Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq announced the news in a televised message and stressed that the announcement is in line with King Mohammed VI's directives. 'Our concern to enable you to observe this religious ritual in the best circumstances is accompanied by our duty to consider the climate and economic challenges facing our country, which have led to a significant disease in livestock numbers,' the monarch said in his directives. The country is facing a severe water shortage, compounded by the difficult conditions of livestock and a fragile agricultural season. These factors have made it infeasible to maintain the traditional practice of animal sacrifice, which prompted a hard decision aimed at preserving national resources and supporting long-term sustainability. Morocco has previously suspended Eid Al-Adha celebrations on three occasions during the reign of the late King Hassan II. The first was in 1963, when the sacrifice ritual was called off amid the Sand War with Algeria. The second instance occurred in 1981 due to a severe drought, and the third came in 1996, following consecutive years of scarce rainfall that culminated in a particularly dry 1995. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Celebrates His 22nd Birthday
Rabat – On Thursday, the Kingdom of Morocco will observe the 22nd birthday of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, an occasion that reaffirms the enduring continuity of the Alaouite Dynasty and the strong, time-honoured connection between the royal family and the Moroccan people. Born on May 8, 2003 at the Royal Palace in Rabat, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan was named in honor of his grandfather, the late King Hassan II. The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery officially announced his birth, and the nation welcomed the news with joy, symbolizing not only the continuation of royal heritage but also a new chapter in the life of the Kingdom. Tomorrow, as Prince Moulay El Hassan turns 22, he has increasingly assumed a visible and dignified role in national life. His growing presence at key events reflects both his preparedness and his deep sense of responsibility toward public service and state affairs. On April 21, 2025, the Crown Prince presided over the opening of the 17th edition of the International Agricultural Fair in Meknes. This year's edition carried the theme 'Agriculture and the Rural World: Water at the Heart of Sustainable Development', bringing forward Morocco's ongoing efforts toward ecological balance and resilient agricultural practices. Earlier, on 3 March, the prince joined Princess Lalla Khadija to launch the Ramadan 1446 food distribution campaign. The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity orchestrated the initiative. It reached over one million households and reaffirmed the royal family's steadfast commitment to social welfare, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan. The Crown Prince has also played an increasingly prominent role in Morocco's diplomatic engagements. Last November, he received Chinese President Xi Jinping during a short visit to Morocco, a significant gesture in the context of bilateral relations. In the cultural sphere, the Crown Prince presided over the Grand Prix of Tbourida at the El Jadida Horse Show, welcomed young participants from Jerusalem at the Royal Palace in Tetouan, and took part in commemorations marking the 25th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's accession to the throne. These appearances form a clear portrait of a young royal rising to his role with assurance, quietly earning the admiration of the public and the respect of institutions. Yet tomorrow's significance lies not in ceremony, but in celebration. As the Crown Prince marks his 22nd year, Moroccans reflect not only on his noble lineage but also on the promise of a future shaped by dedication and continuity. It is a day of shared pride and joy, one that honors the past and welcomes the years ahead.
