The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery announced that King Mohammed VI will preside over a religious vigil for Laylat Al Qadr on the evening of Thursday, March 27, 2025 (Ramadan 26, 1446 A.H.), at the Royal Palace in Rabat.
Due to movement constraints following surgery on his left shoulder, the King will perform the Al-Isha prayer and Tarawih in a seated position, in accordance with the Quranic verse: «Who, standing, sitting, or lying on their sides, invoke Allah».
The Royal Cabinet previously announced that the King underwent successful surgery on December 8 after sustaining a humerus fracture during a sporting activity. This Ramadan, he has not presided over the traditional Hassanian religious lectures.

Hajj: Saudi Arabia Launches World's Largest Cooling System for Pilgrims

Rabat – Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of the world's largest cooling system at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, where pilgrims are gathering to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. More than 1.4 million pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, which kicked off today. Saudi authorities promised to take all necessary measures to ensure the success of the Hajj season amid scorching temperatures. The newly launched cooling system has a capacity of 155,000 refrigeration tonnes, The National reported on Tuesday. According to the report, the system is set to ensure that temperatures at the mosque remain between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius. These efforts are part of Saudi Arabia's 'comprehensive vision aimed at elevating the pilgrim experience and providing the highest levels of comfort and tranquility during ritual performance, especially given the potentially harsh weather conditions,' argued The National report. Last year, Saudi authorities announced the death of 1,3000 pilgrims due to temperatures that reached 50 degrees. The number included 20 Moroccans who died during the 2024 Hajj season. Morocco has a pilgrim quota of 34,000, with 22,400 pilgrims being monitored through official government channels and 11,600 through travel agencies. Moroccans paid at least $65,000 to perform the Hajj this season. King Mohammed VI last month addressed a message to Moroccan pilgrims, asking them to honor and represent Morocco's values. 'I therefore expect you to be ambassadors for your country and preserve this bright cultural image. Keep in mind that it is these incontrovertible values which have enabled our country to continue to enjoy security and stability, and to press ahead,' the King said.

World's First AI Clinic Begins Operations in Saudi Arabia

In an unprecedented global move, Chinese startup Sinohey AI has announced the opening of the world's first fully AI-powered medical clinic in the Al-Ahsa region of eastern Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with Al-Mousa Health Group. This pilot project follows promising results from the company's AI model, which recorded an error rate of less than 0.3% in previous tests—comparable to human error in medical diagnoses, according to a report by Bloomberg. The initiative is still in its early stages, with the AI model currently available to a limited number of patients for free. A human doctor remains present to oversee the diagnostic and treatment processes. After each consultation, the medical reports and decisions generated by the AI are submitted to Saudi health authorities for review and accuracy checks, in preparation for official licensing within the next 18 months, according to company CEO Zhang Shaodian. The clinic operates through direct interaction between the patient and the intelligent model, named Dr. Hua, via tablets available on-site. Patients enter their symptoms, after which the model may request lab tests or imaging, which are carried out by qualified medical staff. The AI then analyzes the results and suggests a treatment plan, which is reviewed by an independent human doctor before being given to the patient. Currently, Dr. Hua can diagnose around 30 types of respiratory diseases. The company aims to expand this to 50 conditions, including those affecting the respiratory, dermatological, and digestive systems. Coordination with Saudi authorities is ongoing to expand the trial and open additional AI-based clinics in the coming months. Despite the company's long-term goal of eliminating the need for human doctors in non-emergency cases, the current model is still under strict human supervision. A physician must be on-site and ready to intervene when needed, ensuring a balance between technological innovation and medical safety.

Rabat — Princess Lalla Meryem led celebrations in Rabat on Sunday to mark the 30th anniversary of Morocco's National Observatory for Children's Rights (ONDE). The ceremony recalled King Mohammed VI's ongoing commitment to protecting children and improving their welfare across the country. New digital health initiative launched The observatory also announced the launch of a groundbreaking child health app during the celebration. The 'Child Health Record' application gives parents access to essential information about nutrition, development, and preventive care for their children. A second version will soon follow in partnership with the Ministry of Health, featuring vaccination history, automatic reminders, and child development tracking tools. The first agreement with the Ministry of Solidarity focuses on training field workers and encouraging children's participation in decision-making processes. This partnership was signed by Minister Naima Ben Yahia and ONDE Vice-President Ghizlane Benjelloun. A second agreement with the Interior Ministry aims to expand mental health programs for children in rural areas, particularly targeting the critical first 1,000 days of life. The third agreement with the Higher Institute of Magistracy will train judges on child mental health issues and support joint research on children's rights. Recognition for child advocates Princess Lalla Meryem presented honorary awards to three individuals who have championed children's causes. Finance Minister Nadia Fettah received recognition for her consistent support of the observatory.
