Blatant error in And Just Like That enrages viewers as they brand Carrie Bradshaw a hypocrite

Fans have pointed out a glaring detail in the season three premiere of the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That. Viewers have branded Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, a 'hypocrite' after she criticised her best friend Miranda Hobbes for going a date at a popular tourist location. In the episode, Miranda meets a nun named Mary (played by Rosie O'Donnell) and after sleeping together Mary invites her to the iconic Tavern on the Green restaurant in Central Park. When Miranda tells Carrie about the date, she makes fun of her for meeting her new lover at the 'cliché' tourist establishment. However, fans have now called Carrie a hypocrite after she visited the venue not once, but twice in episodes of Sex and The City. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Interesting that Carrie was so snobby about Tavern on the Green, considering she had a pretty iconic Central Park boathouse date with Big there many years ago,' one person wrote on Reddit. 'I bet they would say the same about the Central Park Boathouse, even though Carrie and Big met for lunch there once,' another agreed. 'They're so wealthy and snobby they actually thought making fun of Tavern on the Green would land as a joke. They are so out of touch,' a third said. Another person wrote: 'It was a mean and weird story line mocking people.' 'They should't s**t on such landmarks in their city. While I avoid Times Square like the plague, Tavern is just fine,' one added. In season three of SATC, Carrie famously fell into the pond in a designer dress when she met her love interest Mr Big at Tavern on the Green. Carrie also visited the venue with her ex-boyfriend Aidan Shaw in another episode. The third season of And Just Like That premiered last week with a shocking performance from newcomer O'Donnell, who played sex-starved nun Mary. When Miranda tells Carrie about the date, she makes fun of her for meeting her new lover at the 'cliché' tourist establishment. However, fans have now called Carrie a hypocrite after she visited the venue not once, but twice in episodes of Sex and The City The sequel to the fan beloved Sex and the City series follows friends Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) and their tangled lives in New York City. The first episode of the new season, titled 'Outlook Good', features Rosie, 63, in her guest role as a virgin nun named Mary, who is Miranda's potential lesbian love interest. The two hit it off at the bar, and Mary proceeds to flirt with Miranda, telling her, 'You are so pretty' before brazenly letting her know that she has a 'hotel room'. The morning after their passionate night, Mary reveals a truth that leaves Miranda utterly stunned: she had taken Mary's virginity.

Cynthia Nixon opens up on 'intense' relationship with her And Just Like That... co-stars

Cynthia Nixon has an "intense" friendship with her 'And Just Like That...' co-stars. The 59-year-old actress has reprised her role as Miranda Hobbes in the 'Sex and the City' spin-off and explained that bond with co-stars Kristin Davis and Sarah Jessica Parker is all a result of how long they have all been working together. She told People: "I just think the longevity, I mean the intensity of it, but also the longevity of it, because there's something about knowing and loving a person, but then when you know them for so long, you know their children and their parents and their spouses and their friends. "When you understand somebody in their complete context, I feel like that's when you really know them." Meanwhile, actress - who starred on 'Sex and the City' throuhgout its original run from 1998 until 2004 and has appeared on the spin-off since its inception in 2021 - recently saw her alter-ego have a dalliance with a character played by Rosie O'Donnell, and explained that the writers had been trying to get the famed comedienne on board for years. "Michael Patrick King, who writes our show, and is one of the chief writers on our show, has been trying to write a part for Rosie every season and it's never quite worked out. She said: "So this time when he told me what the idea was, I thought, 'Oh this is fantastic, and he let me text her myself and describe it and say, you know, could we please send you this script?' With all our fingers and toes crossed.' "She is so funny and she is so funny in the part, but she's so centered and so real. "I think that we knew she would be hilarious, but I think we were unprepared for how moving she would be in the part, how incredibly sincere and how much she would wear her heart on her sleeve."

Cynthia Nixon didn't get to run New York, but she still represents it

NEW YORK There is only one time Cynthia Nixon can remember vehemently objecting to a writing choice in 'Sex and the City,' and it had to do with her character's choice of footwear. In the scene, Miranda Hobbes was pregnant and shopping for heels. 'I was like, 'I'm sorry, no,'' Nixon recalls, as Miranda was far too sensible for that. She ended up looking for comfy shoes, instead.

And Just Like That viewers stunned as Miranda romps with virgin nun in racy sex scene – and she's a very familiar face

AND Just Like That viewers were totally stunned when Miranda was seen romping with a virgin nun in a racy sex scene. The sequel series to Sex and the City, that focuses on Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York as they navigate life in their 50s, returned to screens on Thursday night. 6 6 6 But despite fans fuming over one specific character and being cringed out over a phone sex scene, there was another moment that stunned fans of the show. Miranda Hobbes, played by Cynthia Nixon, was seen having sex with a virgin nun played by Rosie O'Donnell. Rosie is known as a talk show host, comedian, and actress. She began her comedy career as a teenager and received her breakthrough on the television series Star Search in 1984. In the new AJLT episode, which was titled Outlook Good, Rosie, 63, played the role of a virgin nun named Mary. The two hit it off while drinking in a bar, with the virgin nun flirting with Miranda. "You are so pretty," Mary said to Miranda. The nun was brazen and quickly said that she had a "hotel room" before they both headed back there together. Enjoying a passionate night together, the morning after Mary made a confession. She revealed the truth to Miranda, which left her utterly stunned. Mary revealed that Miranda had in fact taken her virginity. DIVIDED FAN REACTION Viewers were completely divided by the raunchy scene and storyline. "Miranda taking a nun's virginity is such a Samantha storyline," said one person, referencing the beloved Sex and the City character who does not feature fully in AJLT. Another was stunned and simply said: "The concept of miranda deflowering a nun." 6 6 "I can't stand Miranda now. The whole virgin nun scene was stupid," slammed a third. A fourth then wrote: "What a disaster of an episode lmao, BUT the Miranda and the lesbian nun subplot was decent writing because it actually propelled her forward and made her reflect on her queer awakening." While a fifth said: "Where are we going with this Miranda deflowered a nun storyline?" And a sixth penned: "Miranda hooks up with a virgin nun? This is the kind of shenanigans we would get on the old show. Maybe there's hope for this season. lol." PHONE SEX SCENE This came as Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan Shaw were embroiled in a phone sex scene. Before the new series got underway, Carrie and Aidan embarked on a five-year break. But despite Aidan not being in New York, he did return to screens - and made his way back into Carrie's life, too. Calling Carrie from his Virginia home, the pair could be seen having a rather steamy conversation that turned into phone sex - a scene many people thought was "cringe". Reacting to the phone sex scene, one person penned on X: "Who THE F**K thought this phone sex scene was the thing to do…" Another added: "I ache for you - followed by the worst phone sex scene I've ever heard. I'm gonna vomit now." And a third said: "Please no more phone sex scenes."
