Ahtisa Manalo says 'no updates or changes' yet on Miss Universe 2025 venue
Ahtisa Manalo has confirmed that no changes have been made so far regarding the venue of the upcoming Miss Universe 2025. In an interview with GMA News Online on the sidelines of GMA Gala 2025, the reigning Miss Universe Philippines said she remains rigorous in her preparations amid the tensions between Thailand and Cambodia. Thailand was announced to be the host country for the upcoming pageant in February. But last month, questions were raised about the venue after Thailand and Cambodia exchanged heavy artillery fire. 'It is still in Thailand so far," Ahtisa said. "That's all we know. We don't know—there are no any other updates yet or any changes, so that's a good thing." As her departure date approaches, Ahtisa emphasized her commitment to do her best to be ready for the stage. 'Few months na lang aalis na ako. So I'm taking every chance that I get para makapag-prepare talaga ako,' Ahtisa said. On Monday, preliminary talks between Thailand and Cambodia defense officials started after the two sides agreed on a ceasefire. Ahtisa was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 in May. Rechel recounted, 'I told my brother, let's just try one video for fun.' What started as a distraction from her hectic schedule became a life-altering moment. 'I told myself, if people love this, maybe I can do more.' With no industry connections, she proudly hustled her way and became a social media star, with over 1.2 million followers on TikTok alone. From being a content creator to pursuing pageantry Rechel's success was not just limited to social media. She participated in Miss Universe Philippines 2025 that was held on May 2, 2025 in Pasay. Although she didn't secure the crown, but won millions of hearts with her confidence and undeniable charisma. 'I didn't win the crown,' she admits. 'But seeing people cry because I didn't make the top 12… that showed me I had already won their hearts.' She further added, 'Pageants taught me how to be on stage, how to connect with people. It's the best training ground.' Next on Rechel's list is her long-time dream of pursuing acting. 'That was my first goal—not beauty pageants or TikTok. I wanted to be an artist, to be on TV,' she revealed. 'If there's an opportunity, I'll take it. Drama, horror, anything that lets me express myself.' Her story is a reminder that dreams doesn't require limelight, but pure motivation and courage to fulfill.

On Instagram, the fashion magazine shared the cover of their Trendsetters And Trailblazers issue where they honor the personalities "who define what's next and dare to do what hasn't been done." In the cover photo taken by photographer Mark Ducay, the Miss Universe Philippines 2025 donned a pink sculptural gown by Jaggy Glarino and jewelry pieces from Jewelmer. 'She fell—but she rose poised like royalty,' Mega wrote in the caption.
