Bangladesh Drop Najmul Hossain Shanto For Sri Lanka T20Is

Shanto has managed to cross the 50-run mark in his last 20 T20I matches for the Bangladesh men's cricket team.
Bangladesh on Friday (July 4) dropped former captain Najmul Hossain Shanto for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. The three T20Is between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are scheduled to take place at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on July 10, Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on July 13, and R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 16, respectively.
In the 16-member squad announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has managed to find a place in the T20I team after a gap of one year, along with fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Mustafizur Rahman, and spinner Nasum Ahmed. But Soumya Sarkar, Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, Nahid Rana, and Khaled Ahmed are out along with Shanto.
Litton Das will continue to lead the Bangladeshi team.

Shanto's record in T20Is
Since making his T20I debut for Bangladesh against Zimbabwe in Chattogram on September 18, 2019, Shanto has played 50 T20Is and, with the help of four half-centuries, has amassed a total of 987 runs.
He played a T20I match for Bangladesh against UAE in Sharjah on May 19 and scored 27 runs.
Shanto, who was retained as Bangladesh Test captain for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka last month, stepped down from his role after his team suffered a defeat by an innings and 78 runs in the second red-ball match played at SSC in Colombo from June 25 to 28.
'I have an announcement to make," Shanto told reporters. 'I am stepping down from the Bangladesh Test captaincy. I don't want to continue as captain in this format, and I want to give a clear message to everyone: this is not a personal matter. It is entirely for the betterment of the team, and I believe this will help the team. If the cricket board feels they will continue with three captains in three formats, that will be their decision."
