President of Arab Parliament condemns Israel's approval of 3,400 new settlement units in West Bank
15 Aug 2025 17:56 CAIRO (WAM) Mohammed Ahmed Al Yammahi, President of the Arab Parliament, condemned the announcement by Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich approving the construction of 3,400 new settlement units in the E1 area, located between Jerusalem and the West a statement issued on Friday, Al Yammahi said this announcement constitutes a blatant challenge to international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, foremost among them the UN Security Council resolutions affirming the illegality of reaffirmed the Arab Parliament's categorical rejection of the policy of escalating settlement activity aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and eradicating the Palestinian held the occupation entity fully responsible for such actions, describing the move as a dangerous escalation of illegal settlement policies, within a systematic plan to impose a fait accompli on the ground. He also urged immediate action to stop the dangerous escalation of settler terrorism, which will only lead to further escalation, tension, and instability.

5 Aug 2025 19:14 CAIRO (WAM) President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Ahmed Al Yammahi, commended the UAE for its pioneering humanitarian role in supporting the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering amid the dire humanitarian crisis in the Gaza said that the UAE's initiatives, most notably 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,' represent an honourable model of Arab solidarity and effective humanitarian efforts encompass a wide range of support, including the dispatch of ships and convoys of trucks loaded with food, medical supplies, and shelter UAE has also conducted airdrops to reach areas that are inaccessible by land, in coordination with fraternal and friendly Yamahi highlighted the recent arrival of the eighth UAE aid ship, Khalifa, at Al Arish Port. The vessel carried over 7,166 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including food, medical, and health supplies, shelter materials, fully equipped ambulances, and water tankers to address urgent needs in the Gaza further noted that since the launch of "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3," the UAE has delivered over 80,000 tonnes of humanitarian and relief aid to GazaThese supplies were transported by land, sea, and air, through more than 600 airlifts, 17 cargo ships, and 5,400 UAE has also supported the medical sector by establishing a field hospital in Gaza and a floating hospital off the coast of Al Arish. He also commended the ongoing coordination between the UAE and Egypt to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those who need it most.

He said these humanitarian initiatives reflect genuine Arab values and a shared sense of Arab solidarity. The team met several Palestinian patients receiving treatment and listened to their experiences regarding the level of healthcare and humanitarian support offered by the Emirati medical teams. The delegation learned about the operation's management mechanism and the types of assistance being provided, which include food and health packages, kits for children and women, clothing packages for children, and other various relief aid. Delegation members participated in the packing of some of these aid packages. Since its launch, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has provided over 70,000 tonnes of relief, medical, and food aid, demonstrating its deep commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 began on November 5, 2023, under the directives of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President, to support the Palestinian people in Gaza. Since its launch, the UAE has provided over 70,000 tonnes of relief, medical, and food aid, demonstrating its deep commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
