Minister of Communications Inaugurates Smart X Technology Exhibition

Sana'a - Saba: The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Mohammed Al-Mahdi, inaugurated the Smart X Technology Exhibition today in Sana'a. The exhibition is organized by the Ministries of Communications and Economy, Industry and Investment, the Central Bank of Yemen, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the capital. The four-day exhibition includes exhibits reflecting global technological transformations through the Public Telecommunications Corporation, the General Postal Authority, national technology and technology companies, universities, and research centers serving development in the technical, technological, and economic fields. At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology indicated that the exhibition, which brings together the most prominent technology, computing, and communications companies, reflects the interest of the Government of Change and Construction in providing the enablers of digital transformation as one of the most prominent requirements for economic development. He pointed out that the government is fully aware of the importance of the phase Yemen is going through in bringing about change whose results will be felt by all members of society and building a new era that keeps pace with technological developments and meets digital needs, despite the challenges and risks. Minister Al-Mahdi affirmed the ministry's support for initiatives that contribute to strengthening cooperation and partnerships between the public and private sectors, considering the exhibition an important platform for exchanging ideas and disseminating technologies, a platform for supporting innovation, and a key driver of economic growth. He pointed out that the Government of Change and Reconstruction, through the Ministry of Communications, seeks to provide the appropriate infrastructure and environment that encourages creativity and the development and localization of digital and technological solutions. At the opening ceremony, attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service, Abdullah Haider, and the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications for Technical Affairs, Engineer Abdulrahman Abu Talib, the Vice President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Secretariat, Mohammed Salah, explained that technology has become the language of the economy and a key driver of growth and opportunity creation, as exemplified by the exhibition, which brings together public and private entities in the field of technology. He emphasized the Chamber of Commerce and Industry's commitment to forging partnerships with a select group of specialists and leading companies to showcase the latest technological solutions and services, and to enhance the exchange of expertise between the private sector, universities, and research centers. Salah pointed out the Chamber's support for emerging and small companies in the field of technology, adopting digital solutions, raising production efficiency, and encouraging local innovation. For his part, Yahya Al-Khatib, Director General of Payments at the Central Bank of Yemen, considered the exhibition an opportunity to benefit from modern technologies, especially in the fields of financial services, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data analysis. He expressed hope that the accompanying seminars and workshops would produce recommendations that would serve the service sectors in the fields of communications, technology, and information technology. A statement issued by the Public Telecommunications Corporation described the exhibition as a stimulating environment for technological advancement and sustainable development, showcasing the latest technologies and devices in the world of communications and information technology, as well as smart solutions. It is worth noting that the exhibition will be accompanied by seminars and workshops in the fields of technology, digital transformation, and modern technologies, as well as 40 working papers by technicians, specialists, and academics as part of these specialized knowledge and scientific events. Dhamar – Saba: A cultural symposium was held on Thursday at Al-Shamsiya School in Dhamar city to commemorate the anniversary of the noble Prophet's Migration (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). The symposium was attended by the Director of Security in the province, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Mahdi, along with a number of scholars, local and executive leaders, preachers, and mentors. Faisal Al-Hatfi, Director of the General Endowments Authority Office in the province, emphasized that the anniversary of the Prophet's Migration represents a faith-driven and motivational milestone to draw lessons from the life of the noble Prophet and return to the Holy Quran to rectify the Ummah's condition and restore its status, strength, dignity, and glory. He highlighted the importance of recalling the lessons from the Prophet's Migration in confronting the forces of disbelief and tyranny, reviewing the profound impact of the Migration in bringing about effective change in the course of history and human life. Al-Hatfi also touched on the stance of Al-Aws and Al-Khazraj tribes in supporting the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family), explaining that the Migration from Makkah to Madinah was not an escape from the persecution of Quraysh but a strategic step to build a free and independent society carrying the Ummah's civilizational project. He stressed the importance of utilizing this occasion to fortify society against attempts of infiltration and to confront aggressive schemes targeting the homeland and the Ummah. For his part, Sheikh Ismail Al-Washli, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, reviewed aspects of the noble Prophet's biography and his migration from Makkah to Madinah, emphasizing the importance of reflecting on the lessons learned as the foundational step in establishing the Islamic state. Meanwhile, cultural activist Yahya Al-Moushki pointed out the fundamental differences between the societies of Makkah and Madinah, underlining the religious and educational significance of the Prophet's Migration, which calls for deep reflection and drawing inspiration to build a strong and cohesive society resistant to conspiracies and plots. Dhamar – SABA: The Anti-Narcotics Department at the Dhamar Governorate Police launched today an awareness campaign on the dangers of drug use, coinciding with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed every year on June 26. At the launch event, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Mahdi, Director of Security in Dhamar, emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the harmful effects of drugs on individuals and society. He warned that drugs have become one of the major threats to the community, especially as enemies seek to facilitate drug infiltration into the country in an effort to weaken, corrupt, and divide the population. Al-Mahdi stressed the need for enhanced coordination between security units and relevant authorities to confront this dangerous phenomenon, which poses a threat to the entire nation. He also highlighted the recent success of the Anti-Narcotics Department in seizing a quantity of cocaine—one of the most dangerous drugs—along with other types of narcotics. For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Al-Ezzi Al-Mutawakkil, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, described drugs as one of the major contemporary challenges that devastate nations and destroy generations, particularly targeting youth, who are the foundation for building the future. He called on all relevant institutions to contribute to spreading awareness of drug risks and to work on protecting the community, especially children and young people, by fostering them with faith-based education and keeping them away from the dangers that threaten their wellbeing.
