Arab League honours Fujairah Crown Prince with Leading Arab Personality Award in Sustainable Development

Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, with the Leading Arab Personality Award in Sustainable Development, during the Arab Sustainability Day 2025 ceremony held under the theme 'Raising Awareness of the Importance of Sustainability in the Arab Region' at the League's headquarters in ceremony commenced with a speech by Aboul Gheit, in which he emphasised that celebrating Arab Sustainability Day reflects the importance of promoting sustainable development concepts and achieving a balance between its three dimensions: economic, social, and environmental—especially in light of the growing challenges and rapid changes across the Arab world in various her part, Ambassador Dr. Nada Al-Ajezi, Director of the Department of Sustainable Development and International Cooperation Department – General Secretariat of the Arab League, stated, "Arab Sustainability Day aims to be a media engine that highlights the achievements of Arab countries and various stakeholders in implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. It also seeks to create an Arab environment supportive of these efforts, providing a platform to exchange knowledge, expertise, best practices, and experiences to build a better future for the Arab region."H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, delivered a keynote speech at the event, stating, 'In today's world, amid constant changes and challenges, we stand before one responsibility and one goal—to work earnestly together toward implementing the best environmental practices and achieving sustainable development goals in key vital sectors that serve people, empower them, and contribute to improving their quality of life.'His Highness added, "The United Arab Emirates has made environmental sustainability a top priority in its future vision and a fundamental pillar within its national development strategies. This stems from its pivotal role in ensuring individual stability, empowering communities, and supporting economic growth and prosperity. The UAE continues to pursue its efforts in environmental and climate action at both regional and international levels."H.H. also highlighted the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, emphasising that environmental sustainability is a key pillar of Fujairah's comprehensive and sustainable government vision, particularly in strategic sectors such as mining and mineral wealth, the oil and ship bunkering industry, and marine ecosystem conservation to protect fish resources.H.H. praised the Arab League's efforts in organising Arab Sustainability Day 2025, calling it the most significant Arab event spotlighting environmental sustainability issues and seeking solutions, while opening new horizons for strategic partnerships and pioneering projects at both the Arab and global levels to achieve sustainable development goals across the Arab the event, H.H. witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements between the Government of Fujairah and the League of Arab States, and honoured a number of distinguished individuals in the field of sustainability whose efforts have had a regional honouring ceremony was attended by Mohammed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament; Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Crown Prince of Fujairah's Office; Hamdan Karam Al Kaabi, Director of the Private Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah; and Engineer Aseela Al Mualla, Director of the Fujairah Environment Authority.

Fujairah to host UAE's first international adventure tourism conference
Fujairah: The Fujairah Adventures Center has announced to host the inaugural Fujairah International Conference of Adventure Tourism in May this year. Being held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the conference will take place April 30 to May 2, 2025. Organised in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), this first-of-its-kind event in the UAE is designed to spotlight Fujairah's untapped potential as a prime adventure tourism destination, leveraging its diverse landscapes, rich culture, and strategic location. 'Hosting this international conference marks a strategic milestone in the development of the adventure tourism sector in our region,' said Amr Zein Eddine, Director of Fujairah Adventures Center and Head of the Higher Organising Committee. The three-day conference will feature keynote addresses, expert panels, and interactive sessions focused on key themes including: Investment & Growth: Opportunities and challenges in the global adventure tourism industry. Safety & Standards: International best practices for exploration and recreational safety. Sustainability & Community: Strategies for preserving natural resources and empowering local economies. Innovation & Youth: The role of start-ups, universities, influencers, and UNWTO Affiliate Members in shaping the future of adventure tourism. Adventure tourism A highlight of the event will be the launch of the region's first standardised adventure tourism framework, tailored specifically to the Middle East. Additionally, the conference will unveil the Arabic translation of the UIAA (International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) safety guidebook, aimed at promoting high standards and best practices in adventure sports. Scenic outdoors The opening day will feature Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signings and a formal book launch. On the following days, delegates and attendees will experience Fujairah's scenic outdoors through a curated program of cultural and eco-tourism activities. These include visits to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Fujairah Fort, traditional encounters at Al Taiba Village, guided hikes in Wadi Wurrayah Nature Reserve, and deep-sea fishing paired with local culinary experiences.

FUJAIRAH, UAE,March 2025: Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah in collaboration with Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), officially launched Fujairah's Young Techpreneurs initiative. This initiative is designed specifically for the UAE nationals studying in Fujairah from grades 3 to 9. Fujairah's Young Techpreneurs initiative will run from April 6 to July 10, 2025, focusing on three main areas, namely fundamentals of programming and AI tools, advanced programming and machine learning, and entrepreneurship with advanced technologies and cybersecurity. This initiative aims to position Fujairah as a hub for fostering youth entrepreneurship in advanced technologies. The initiative has a diverse agenda that includes interactive sessions and tailored educational opportunities for different age groups. It seeks to empower students by equipping them with both foundational and advanced technological skills. It also aims to enhance creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, teach technological entrepreneurship, raise awareness of cybersecurity, promote continuous learning and prepare students for future careers in technology fields. On the launch of Fujairah's Young Techpreneurs initiative, His Excellency Dr Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, underlined the importance of launching specialised initiatives that support the growth of Emirati youth and empower them to keep pace with the latest global developments through the optimal use of modern technologies. H.E. Dr Al Zeyoudi said: 'Through initiatives directed at Emirati youth, we aim to ensure the building of a bright future that benefits the entire local community. Today's youth are tomorrow's leaders, and equipping them with the highest levels of technological knowledge and advanced tools is fundamental to our national growth. Moreover, we are committed to forming strategic partnerships, and designing a wide range of specialised programmes, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. We are expanding our investment efforts to enhance our children's ability to acquire global knowledge and develop specialised skills, preparing them with the best experiences and capabilities.' Notably, the final list of students participating in this initiative will consist of 200 students from the participating schools across Fujairah. The initiative will have a blended learning approach combining classroom, remote and group learning. Additionally, assessment methods will include a variety of approaches, such as quizzes, practical activities and final projects.

Fujairah Mountain Shooting Championship to kick off on Feb 1
The second edition of the Fujairah Mountain Shooting Championship will open on February 1 featuring over 400 participants from 37 countries. This event, being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, offers a total prize pool of $400,000. It will take place in Dibba, Fujairah, and will run until February 8. Referees from various countries, including the UK, US and Europe will officiate at the event. The championship schedule includes preliminary competitions and training sessions from February 1 to 4, side events from February 1 to 7, and the main championship from February 5 to 8. The opening ceremony will take place on February 4, while the winners of the main championship will be honoured on February 8, the closing day of the championship. It aims to attract a diverse audience from across the region. The main championship will consist of 24 stands, each equipped with six machines, presenting 10 targets, including singles and doubles. Over four days, participants will face a total of 240 targets, with 60 targets to be covered each day, and competitors will be organised into six-man squads. Furthermore, this edition will feature side events, including 50 Target English Sporting from February 1 to 4, 50 Bird Re-Entry English Sporting from February 5 to 7, and Pool Shoots from February 1 to 7. This year, the organisers are introducing a new side event for visitors from the UAE at the FMSC, allowing non-professional shooters to test their shooting skills. This opportunity will be available from February 1 to 7 at a designated shooting arena and overseen by professional instructors. Saif Al Zahmi, Director, FMSC, said: 'We are all set for another exhilarating edition of the Fujairah Mountain Shooting Championship under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. This year, we also mark the participation of over 400 clay shooting professionals and shooting enthusiasts from 37 countries. With every edition, our aim is to strengthen the championship's position in clay shooting competitions worldwide. Additionally, one of our side events, which will cater to non-professional shooters, is being launched to create more opportunities for people to test their skills in clay shooting.' The second edition of the Fujairah Mountain Shooting Championship is being organised in collaboration with the National Sporting Clays Association, Clay Pigeon Shooting Association and Fujairah Shooting Club. For the second time in a row, the championship will utilise 100% natural ammunition, featuring biodegradable wads and eco-friendly Vivaz clay targets suitable for various age groups, all to minimise environmental impact. Furthermore, the Fujairah Mountain Shooting Championship is also partnering with Eley Hawk for a second consecutive year to supply eco-friendly lead ammunition for participants. Additionally, Promatic is the exclusive trap partner and supplier for the championship's clay target machinery. This commitment to sustainability aligns with FMSC's goal of making the championship more environmentally friendly.
