Roman Reigns WWE return: 'OTC' to replace controversial star in Money in the Bank match and teach Seth Rollins a lesson?
Roman Reigns WWE return: The Money in the Bank Premium Live Event (PLE) is almost upon us. The show will be held in Inglewood on June 7. It will feature the titular match in which six men from Raw and SmackDown will lock horns to secure the coveted briefcase that guarantees them the right to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship or the Undisputed Championship at a time and place of their choosing. The participants are LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, El Grande Americano, Andrade, Seth Rollins, and Penta. One of these stars, however, may not make it to the match if Roman Reigns has his way. Roman Reigns to give Seth Rollins the shock of a lifetime? Reigns has not been seen on WWE programming since the Raw after WrestleMania 41 when Bron Breakker speared him through the barricade. In doing so, 'The Unpredictable Badass' aligned with the OTC's arch-rival Seth Rollins. Rollins, who has since then been joined by Bronson Reed, plans to capture the briefcase and change the landscape of the company forever. His plans may, however, go for a toss if Reigns finds a way to insert himself into the marquee match and win it. Hypothetically, he could do so by taking out and replacing El Grande Americano in the contest. The 'legendary luchador' has been a nightmare for masked wrestlers ever since his debut a few months ago. Many believe that Raw's Chad Gable is under the mask, which makes this character all the more controversial. As such, taking out such a notorious re-establish Reigns as a face (good guy) and add some much-needed star power to the marquee ladder match. Going down this route will help Reigns reignite his personal rivalry with Seth Rollins and possibly teach his faction a lesson. Inserting Reigns into the match will also allow the WWE to revisit (even if briefly) OTC's chequered past with his cousin Solo Sikoa, who had him removed from The Bloodline. That said, this angle is purely speculative as things stand. Why does Roman Reigns hate Seth Rollins? Reigns and Seth Rollins were once part of the group called The Shield, which ruled the WWE. 'The Visionary', however, betrayed him many years ago. This led to the downfall of their relationship. Things hit rock bottom at WrestleMania 41 when Paul Heyman– the former Big Dog's 'Wiseman'-- betrayed him on Rollins' orders. Heyman also stabbed his 'friend' CM Punk in the back on that fateful night. Stay ahead of the game with the latest updates, match highlights, and insider stories from IPL, cricket, WWE, and more! WWE Has Significant Plans For Travis Scott: Report
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Travis Scott is reportedly slated for a significant appearance at WWE's upcoming Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. This anticipated engagement is scheduled for June 7th, 2025. The information surfaced through a report from WrestleVotes. WrestleVotes shared on May 22, 2025: "Amid speculation, we're told WWE has plans for Travis Scott to appear at the Money in the Bank PLE on June 7th. Sources indicate this has been in the works since before WrestleMania." Further details from the episode itself emphasized the magnitude of these arrangements. It was explicitly noted that there are indeed "significant plans" for Scott's involvement at the highly anticipated event. This isn't Scott's first appearance in the WWE landscape in 2025. Earlier in the year, the Grammy-nominated musician played a visible role in the storylines leading up to and culminating at WrestleMania 41. Scott was notably featured in the narrative involving WWE Champion John Cena and Cody Rhodes during that period. He made appearances at ringside and even became physically involved in the historic match in which Cena captured his 17th world title from Rhodes, with Scott's interference contributing to the outcome. MoreElaborating on the Money in the Bank plans, WrestleVotes provided additional context, directly linking Scott's upcoming appearance to the reigning WWE Champion. "Sources indicate there are plans for Travis Scott to be present at Money in the Bank in Los Angeles, an appearance connected to WWE Champion John Cena." More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation The report continued, underscoring the long-term nature of this engagement: "We are told this appearance has been on the calendar since WrestleMania, regardless of the perception and criticism coming out of that show." The event on June 7th will see Money in the Bank return to the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. This venue is particularly noteworthy in the context of Travis Scott's WWE interactions. The nature of Scott's role, whether a musical performance, a guest spot in a segment, or continued involvement in a storyline, remains to be seen. However, WWE's continued partnership with a mainstream star of Scott's caliber signals their ongoing strategy to blend sports entertainment with popular culture, aiming to attract a wider audience to their programming. It's unclear whether WWE has plans for Scott at SummerSlam. More WWE News:

Major John Cena Match Delayed: Report
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Despite CM Punk's recent social media tease signaling his intent to challenge for John Cena's Undisputed WWE Championship, their title match is reportedly not in the immediate plans for the upcoming Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. CM Punk's social media declaration had understandably fueled significant discussion among fans. His clear targeting of the WWE Championship, now held by Cena, naturally pointed towards a potential challenge at the next available major Premium Live Event, which is Money in the Bank. This update, from suggests WWE may be preserving the blockbuster encounter for a later date, even as alternative plans involving Cena and musician Travis Scott are being considered for the June 7th show. Fans began speculating about a potential Cena vs. Punk clash at Money in the Bank after Punk's cryptic "for now..." Instagram post, which followed Cena's record-breaking 17th world title win over Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. However, PWInsider, citing several WWE creative sources, states that this specific championship bout is not part of the current creative direction for the Los Angeles event. The desire within WWE to have the two iconic rivals face off for the title remains strong, though. One source reportedly indicated to PWInsider that the company does want to schedule the marquee bout later this year when the timing is right, suggesting it's a match being earmarked for a potentially larger stage or when storyline elements can be more fully developed. With a Cena vs. Punk singles match for the title seemingly on hold for June, PWInsider also reported on alternative creative discussions for Cena at the event. There is reportedly a belief within WWE creative circles that popular musician Travis Scott will be available for the Money in the Bank PLE in Los Angeles. It has also been reported that Scott has been training intermittently with WWE Hall of Famer Booker T in Texas. This indicates a continued interest from Scott in being involved in a physical capacity within WWE storylines. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Popular WWE Superstar Could Return Sooner Than Expected: Report
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes has been conspicuously absent from WWE television since his shocking Undisputed WWE Championship loss to a newly heel John Cena at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025. Now, reports suggest his return could be on the horizon, potentially at the upcoming Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. Rhodes' journey over the past year has been a rollercoaster for the WWE Universe. He triumphantly defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 in 2024 to "finish the story" and capture the Undisputed WWE Championship, a deeply emotional moment for him and his fanbase. His reign was a celebrated one, but it came to an unexpected end at WrestleMania 41. There, John Cena, embracing a darker persona, dethroned Rhodes to begin his own record-breaking 17th World Title reign. Since that pivotal night, Rhodes has been away from WWE programming, presumably regrouping after the significant loss. Fans have been eagerly awaiting his return, largely expecting him to seek retribution against Cena and reclaim his championship. Initially, much of the speculation surrounding Rhodes's comeback pointed towards a more extended absence. Some observers believed his return might be strategically timed for a major summer event like SummerSlam in August, allowing for a significant rebuild. A general overall view of Cody Rhodes in the ring against AJ Styles during their 'I Quit' match at WWE's Clash at the Castle, Premium Live Event at The OVO Hydro on June 15, 2024 in Glasgow, news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation However, new information suggests "The American Nightmare" might resurface sooner. During a recent Q&A on Sportskeeda's WrestleBinge, WrestleVotes provided an update on Rhodes' status for the June 7th Money in the Bank event in Los Angeles, noting he is still scheduled for the show. The annual Money in the Bank event, with its career-altering briefcase, is still a few weeks away. Rhodes' potential involvement, even in a non-wrestling capacity, would undoubtedly generate significant buzz and could kickstart his next major storyline. It is important to note that while Rhodes has been locally advertised for SmackDown events as early as May 16th, WWE has not officially announced these appearances on their television programming. "The American Nightmare" was previously removed from other locally advertised tapings during his current hiatus. Therefore, the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event in Los Angeles on June 7th currently stands as the most concrete reported timeframe for a potential Rhodes return.
