Kelsea Ballerini says divorce should not be ‘glamorized' 3 years after her marriage ended
Kelsea Ballerini doesn't believe in glamorizing divorce. Ballerini, who released "Rolling Up The Welcome Mat" to chronicle her divorce from country singer Morgan Evans, clarified that she isn't the "poster child for divorce." After releasing the album, the 31-year-old musician found that fans connected with her story. "I remember being like, 'Oh, man, I'm terrified,'" Ballerini told Elle magazine of the night before the album's release in 2023. "I went to sleep, and the next morning, I was like, 'Oh, it's OK. People are finding this and connecting with this.' But it was definitely a scary feeling." Now, the CMA award-winner has fans showing up to her concerts with signs that read "Just got a divorce." KELSEA BALLERINI REVEALS WHAT SHE FINDS 'SEXIEST' ABOUT NEW BOYFRIEND AFTER PAINFUL DIVORCE "I try to never celebrate it until I know if it's a good thing. I don't ever want to be a poster child for divorce," she told the outlet. "It's been three years now. It's simply not in the forefront of my life anymore." "But I always make sure when these women come up to me, my first reaction is never, 'Oh my God, congratulations!' It's like, 'Are you OK?' Because just like it needs to be destigmatized, I also don't think it should be celebrated or glamorized," Ballerini said. Ballerini and Evans wed in 2017. After nearly five years of marriage, the two announced their divorce in 2022 on Instagram. Ballerini and Evans originally met in 2016 while hosting the CMC Music Awards in Australia. "Because just like it needs to be destigmatized, I also don't think it should be celebrated or glamorized." — Kelsea Ballerini "I've always tried to share my life with you in a real and vulnerable way, while also protecting layers of my personal life as they unfold," Ballerini wrote at the time. "This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce." Evans wrote in his own statement, "I am very sad to confirm that after almost 5 years of marriage, Kelsea and I are parting ways. I wish it were otherwise but sadly it is not." The country superstar has been dating "Outer Banks" actor Chase Stokes since January 2023. The two seem to be going strong as they recently moved in together, according to People magazine. Stokes revealed they never go longer than three weeks without seeing each other. "If we need to make the effort to show up when one's across the country, we do it," he told the outlet. "The amount of effort that we put into our careers, we should be doubling that in our personal lives. It's not always easy, and it's not always convenient, but having a big, beautiful life didn't come from convenience or ease." CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER Ballerini has released new music since putting her heartbreak out for the world to hear. However, she still finds it easy to write about the "growing pains" of life. "I've always gravitated toward writing about the unsteadiness in life, whether that's a version of heartbreak or just growing pains. I love writing about growing up and the uncomfortable nature of that. The hardest part for me is to write when I'm happy," she told Elle magazine. "It's so much easier, because songwriting is so therapeutic for me, to sit down when I'm down in the dumps about something rather than when I'm happy. Because when you're happy, you want to go exist in your happiness, not sit down with your guitar. But I will say making 'Patterns' was truly reflective of the year and a half that I wrote it. So there is turmoil and growing pains in that, and there is happiness, but it's not sugarcoated. "Even 'First Rodeo,' which I think is the first love song that I wrote for 'Patterns,' is literally saying, 'I fell off the horse. That was embarrassing. I felt like damaged goods. Oh my God, here you are. Can we take this slow because this is not where I saw my life going, but now I want to try this again?' It's an unconventional love song, and that's what interests me, the nuance of it, not just 'Friday night in your truck, let's go to the bar.'" CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Kelsea Ballerini does not want to become 'the poster child for divorce' after very public split from Morgan Evans
Kelsea Ballerini has talked divorce in her new interview. The 31-year-old hitmaker opened up to Elle about ending her marriage to Morgan Evans in 2022. 'I don't ever want to be a poster child for divorce,' said the pinup. 'It's been three years now. It's simply not in the forefront of my life anymore. 'But I always make sure when these women come up to me, my first reaction is never, "Oh my God, congratulations!" It's like, '"Are you okay?" Because just like it needs to be destigmatized, I also don't think it should be celebrated or glamorized.' While on tour, Ballerini shut down a show in Hollywood, Florida after fans were screaming obscenities about her ex. 'Seriously, we're three years past it, everything's fine now,' she told the crowd. 'I sing the song for you now, it's not about me anymore, please.' She also said she is much happier these days. The iHeart Radio award winner has found new love with Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes and says her personal life is 'unrecognizable from how it was a couple of years ago, and thank God.' The result of those feelings from her divorce to Evans fueled her six-song EP Rolling Up the Welcome Mat. 'I remember being like, "Oh man, I'm terrified." I went to sleep, and the next morning, I was like, "Oh, it's okay. People are finding this and connecting with this." 'But it was definitely a scary feeling,' she said of the risk. Many of her fans were going through something similar and the songs resonated with them. Several of those attending her concerts will hold up a sign reading, 'Just got a divorce,' but Ballerini is cautious about her approach to the information. When it came time to write the music for Patterns, her fifth album, Ballerini turned to an all-female team as co-writers. 'The truth is, I was so frozen after Welcome Mat, because the intention behind that was not to be a commercial success in any capacity. 'It was literally just this six-song collection that I made quietly with one other person, Alysa [Vanderheym], to the point where it didn't even count toward my record contract. And then it connected like it did,' she explained. Ballerini released her six-song EP Rolling Up The Welcome Mat following her 2022 divorce from fellow country star Morgan Evans. She was 'terrified' to release it, but the songs resonated with fans When it came time for her to make what she called a 'proper album,' she turned to Vanderheym again and invited Hillary Lindsey, Karen Fairchild and Jessie Jo Dillon to join her on the adventure. 'I didn't know where to start, because I felt this pressure to follow it up and do it well. 'I had to really dissect what made that work and then ask, "How do I translate that to my life now?"' 'I knew that if I was going to start writing, I needed to do it with people I felt safe with. 'And so I called my friends, who are some of the most in-demand songwriters in music, but they're also just my friends.' 'I was like, "Hey, can we go away somewhere really cozy and cute for two days? I will supply so much wine, and can we just see if there's anything? And if there isn't, it'll still be two days of womanhood." If that's the worst-case scenario, we're doing all right.' As a result of those cozy moments, The Voice coach and her team ended up writing the songs Sorry Mom, Two Things, and Baggage. 'And I was just like, "There it is." I felt this immense relief and release, but also a sense of freedom that I had never really felt before. I keep saying it wasn't just a co-write, it was walking life for a year with each other.' The release of Patterns helped the singer/songwriter achieve one of her long term goals. 'It's always been my goal to be a woman who headlines arenas. Especially in country music, you don't see it a lot. I think that I, and my whole team collectively, had this "If not now, when?" mentality.' To do so, Ballerini said she had to shift her mindset. 'I had to get out of my head, because I'm such a chronic people pleaser: Any element of turmoil or people being mad at me feels crippling to me. And so I never really was loud about anything for a really long time, because I just had to get my footing. And then I was like, 'At the end of the day, I want the people who listen to my music to know what I stand for and hopefully align with it." The emboldened artist is also speaking out about broadening the Country Music tent and making the genre more welcoming for all. 'We had a (drag) queen in the audience in Philly, and I felt so deeply grateful that they felt safe enough to be there in the theater in the wig, the thoughtful artist said. Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter won the Grammy for Album of the Year, but was snubbed by the Academy of Country Music Awards. Lana del Rey and Zayn Malik have also tried their hand at the genre. 'If we, as country artists, feel like we can have a collab on top 40 or have a collab with an R&B artist, why wouldn't we give a welcome to someone else?' Ballerini asks. 'I think that's where people who are pushing back really need to check themselves, because music is for everybody. And specifically country music, the marquee of it is it's the people's story,' she declared. As for her dream collaborator, the Love is a Cowboy singer already has someone in mind, admitting she would 'die' to work with SZA.

Kelsea Ballerini doesn't want her divorce to be 'celebrated or glamorised'
Kelsea Ballerini doesn't want her divorce to be "celebrated or glamorised" amongst her fanbase. The 31-year-old singer was married to fellow country music star Morgan Evans, 40, from 2017 until 2022 and even though some of her followers are always quick to share their own experience of divorce with her, she doesn't want to become the "poster child" for a marriage breakup. She told ELLE: "I try to never celebrate it until I know if it's a good thing. I don't ever want to be a poster child for divorce. It's been three years now. It's simply not in the forefront of my life anymore. But I always make sure when these women come up to me, my first reaction is never, 'Oh my God, congratulations!' It's like, 'Are you okay?' Because just like it needs to be destigmatized, I also don't think it should be celebrated or glamorised." The 'Miss Me More' songstress - who is now dating 'Outer Banks' star Chase Stokes, 32, - composed her album 'Rolling Up the Welcome Mat' around her divorce but admitted she was "terrified" to release a record centered on the themes of a breakup. She said: "I remember being like, 'Oh man, I'm terrified.' I went to sleep, and the next morning, I was like, 'Oh, it's okay. People are finding this and connecting with this.' But it was definitely a scary feeling." Earlier this year, Kelsea revealed that she had to beg her fans to stop yelling expletives at her former husband, especially because so much time had passed. Whilst performing at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida in February, she stopped the show halfway through her set to call out some fans as she performed a song that had initially been written about her split. She said: "We're three years past it! "Everything's fine now. I sing this song for you now. It's not about me anymore, please."

Pro gives tips on how to play Pickleball
HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaii Pacific Health ESPN Honolulu Open presented by HMSA kicked off on Friday, April 10 and will last through the weekend at the Hawaii Convention Center. Hawaii pickleball lovers: Plan your weekend at the Honolulu Open The event is open to the public to come down and experience. Professional pickleball player, Morgan Evans, showed KHON2 a few tricks of the trade. Evans showed KHON2's Kamaka Pili the 'dink shot,' a shot designed to land inside the kitchen. 'What we are going to do is get you behind the kitchen line right here. Nice and close, within a few inches and facing the net. Now, let's get down to a nice, low stance. I like that you have worn some incredibly athletic shoes today. Dress for the job. So what we are going to do is a small shot. Simple, you are going to try and get the ball up, over the net to land on my half of the kitchen. We are going to go for 10 shots in a row,' explained Evans. Friday's event featured lots of kupuna playing the rapidly growing game. Evans said it helps them stay active. Download the free KHON2 app for iOS or Android to stay informed on the latest news 'When I am doing this, it's very hard for you to attack me. If I play a good enough dink, something soft inside the kitchen, then it's difficult for you to attack. But if you manage to hit it a little too high or too far, then I'll show you what is going to happen, someone will attack you. So, it pays dividends to keep the ball low, nice and soft, move your opponents around, it's a delicate touch. Not easy but you are going to get it. You're on the right track.' And of course, pickleball is for everybody! Even though the tournament is already sold out, the public can still come down and check it out throughout the weekend, free of charge. Attendees can participate in clinics, and products and explore more than 30 courts. Check out more news from around Hawaii So if you have time this weekend, head down to the Hawaii Convention Center through Sunday, April 13. Agitated Solutions Receives IND Clearance from FDA to Initiate Phase 3 Clinical Trial of a Novel Contrast Agent
Multi-center trial will assess safety and efficacy of ASI-02 contrast agent in cardiac bubble studies. ST. PAUL, Minn., April 08, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared Agitated Solutions, Incorporated (ASI)'s Investigational New Drug (IND) application for its novel contrast agent, ASI-02, enabling the initiation of the company's Phase 3 clinical trial. This multi-center randomized study will assess the safety and efficacy of ASI-02 in up to 300 patients in the US and Canada undergoing transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) with agitated saline contrast—commonly referred to as a "cardiac bubble study." Cardiac bubble studies are the current standard of care for diagnosing right-to-left shunts, which cause improper blood flow and can be a leading cause of cryptogenic stroke, particularly in young people. To conduct a bubble study, saline is manually mixed with air to produce a solution containing microbubbles that are injected into the patient. The bubbles travel to the right side of the heart where they can be viewed under ultrasound to diagnose a shunt. These studies require one sonographer to agitate and inject the saline while a second captures the images, making them resource intensive and time-consuming. This manual process also generates variable and inconsistent bubbles which can impact accurate patient diagnosis. "ASI-02 is the first innovation in over 60 years specifically designed to tackle the issues associated with image quality and efficiency in bubble studies. Currently, there is no FDA approved right heart contrast agent." said Morgan Evans, CEO of Agitated Solutions. "This IND clearance is a significant milestone, allowing us to begin our Phase 3 trial aimed at demonstrating a more consistent and simple method to definitively diagnose shunts with our novel contrast agent." ASI-02 is a novel right heart contrast agent that produces consistent microbubbles designed to improve image quality and facilitate diagnosis of right-to-left shunts. It can be administered by a single sonographer, eliminating the current need for a second person to agitate and inject the contrast and improving echo lab workflow efficiency. "This area is long overdue for innovation, and we are proud to empower sonographers and clinicians with our discoveries," said Micah J. Eimer MD, cardiologist and CMO of Agitated Solutions. About Agitated Solutions, Inc. Agitated Solutions is developing a portfolio of products to enhance the use of ultrasound imaging, improve efficiency and clinical outcomes. The Company's platform includes a proprietary ultrasound contrast agent, workflow streamlining accessories, and AI-enabled software solutions that improve image quality and enhance diagnostics. ASI-02 is an investigational new drug and is not approved for use in the US outside of this IND. It is currently approved for use in Canada.
