Rule of law absent in state: Jagan
1 2 Vijayawada: Former chief minister and YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday criticised the TDP-led coalition government for its "authoritarian governance, misuse of police machinery, and suppression of democratic opposition". Speaking to the media at the party's central office here, Jagan said that only the YSRCP is standing with the people, while the constitution and rule of law seem to be "absent in the state". He said the YSRCP will continue its fight against the "anti-people regime" of NDA by responding to public grievances. "We will be with farmers, women, youth, students, or employees wherever there is an issue. The YSRCP will continue to be the sole voice actively questioning the fake promises and betrayals of Chandrababu Naidu," said Jagan. He highlighted campaigns like "Babu Surety, Mosam Guarantee" and "Recalling Chandrababu's Manifesto," which he said had exposed the non-fulfilment of major welfare promises. Jagan said that Naidu, having lost public trust, and "is misusing police powers to suppress dissent". He condemned the filing of "false cases" against senior police officers such as PSR Anjaneyulu, Sunil Kumar and Kanti Rana Tata. He alleged that over 80 inspectors and hundreds of constables remain suspended or sidelined, while only pro-TDP officers are being empowered. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 4BHK+Family Lounge+Utility room at 4.49Cr (All Incl)* ATS Triumph, Gurgaon Book Now Undo He accused certain DIGs and police officers of behaving like mafia dons, collecting bribes from illegal liquor and sand operations and sharing the proceeds with ruling party leaders. Tensions rise in Andhra's Gudivada as TDP, YSRCP cadres clash
VIJAYAWADA: Tension gripped Gudivada in Krishna district on Saturday as TDP and YSRCP cadres clashed over organising parallel events on the same day. The TDP has been conducting its 'Suparipalanalo Toli Adugu' (First Step in Good Governance) door-to-door campaign in the town for the past few days under the leadership of local MLA Venigandla Ramu. Meanwhile, the YSRCP had scheduled a constituency-level meeting at K Convention in Lingavaram, with party district president and former minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) as the chief guest. Ahead of the event, the YSRCP erected flex banners with slogans like 'Babu Surety – Mosam Guarantee.' In retaliation, the TDP put up posters mocking former minister Kodali Venkateswara Rao (Nani), showing him polishing Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's shoes, a reference to remarks he made during the 2024 election campaign. The situation escalated further when Perni Nani made controversial comment s against the TDP leadership. While addressing YSRCP workers at Pamarru in Krishna district on Friday, Nani reportedly made controversial comments that drew sharp criticism from TDP leaders. When some party activists shouted 'Rappa Rappa', Nani discouraged them and allegedly said, 'If something needs to be done, let it happen silently in the dark.' In response, TDP and Jana Sena workers tore down YSRCP flexes at Nagavarappadu Junction and staged a protest. They also attempted to obstruct the movement of YSRCP leaders heading to the party meeting. During the unrest, a vehicle belonging to Krishna district ZP chairperson Uppala Harika was damaged.
