Kaizer Chiefs confirm home games across SA for new season
Kaizer Chiefs have doubled down on their commitment to taking football to the fans by continuing to host home games at various stadiums across the country in the 2025/2026 season. Last season, the Soweto giants rotated between FNB Stadium, the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, and Moses Mabhida Stadium. Now, they plan to expand this list of venues even further, according to Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung. Chiefs will once again forgo a single, consistent home base in favour of a national approach that reflects their widespread fanbase. 'We're definitely a national brand, so the country is our home,' said Motaung in an interview with iDiski Times. 'So definitely we'll be playing at FNB Stadium, but we're certainly going to be playing in Mabhida, you see us playing in the Toyota Cup there on Saturday.' Her comments highlight the club's strategic focus on national presence over regional loyalty. Chiefs' return to continental football via the CAF Confederation Cup offers even more reason to explore new certified venues outside Gauteng. 'We also have the opportunity to play elsewhere for our CAF games, in CAF certified stadiums. Certainly, the balance of travel vs having a base here in FNB will be managed,' added Motaung, acknowledging the logistical challenge but reaffirming the club's intention to maintain its reach. While some players expressed concern last season about the demands of extra travel, the club's ability to draw significant support wherever they played made a lasting impression. However, Chiefs' inconsistent league form suggests that balancing travel with high-level performance remains a key objective this season. Motaung confirmed that while FNB will still serve as a primary home ground, other venues will play crucial roles. Kaizer Chiefs are currently preparing for their next challenge, the Toyota Cup clash against Asante Kotoko at Moses Mabhida Stadium this Saturday. Reinforcing their intent to keep reaching fans across all corners of South Africa. Let us know by leaving a comment below or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Kaizer Chiefs news: Flavio Antonio da Silva
A section of Kaizer Chiefs fans have written off the striker Flavio Silva after just a couple of practice matches in preseason. The strange chatter prompted the club's leadership to address this judgment directly, as the club's Head of Marketing, Jessica Motaung, stepped forward to calm the waters. Amakhosi news: Coach Nabi's report Kaizer Chiefs unveil Flavio Silva, Ethan Chislett, and Nkanyiso Shinga. Images: kcofficial/Instagram Motaung reminded the public that pre-season is exactly the time to manage player fitness and that no judgment should be made before the new striker gets enough time to show his readiness. Kaizer Chiefs news: Winger, number 10 and fixtures Motaung also reminded supporters that patience and trust are essential, especially when integrating new or recovering players into the team. 'Look, Flavio has joined us at a certain stage of pre-season,' Motaung said. 'Everyone is in different phases of their preparation, and he's on schedule with where he should be.' Acknowledging the concerns, Motaung continued, 'We want to make sure we do things right, not rush him back. He's getting the right treatment, training and monitoring. By the time competitive matches start, you will see him ready. There's no need for people to worry now.' Finally, Motaung said: What we need from everyone—fans, media, club—is time and patience. He'll show what he can do when everything comes together.' Kaizer Chiefs: SEVENTH signing confirmed?
Kaizer Chiefs are set to announce more signings with their seventh signing imminent. Kaizer Chiefs have signed SIX players so far. Meanwhile, Amakhosi are closing in on their SEVENTH signing of the transfer window. Initially, Chiefs signed Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva and Ethan Chislett. Thereafter, they confirmed Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane as their next new player additions. Finally, Siphesihle Ndlova was unveiled as their sixth signing of the campaign. Chiefs have reportedly already agreed to personal terms with Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman from PSL rivals, Cape Town City. However, as reported on The South Africa, the two clubs are in a legal dispute over these two players. Meaning, Amakhosi can not announce these players until they have sorted out this dispute. Jessica Motaung has assured fans that there will be more signings with more Chiefs player announcements expected in the coming days. Following a press conference on the same day as the dispute was made public, Motaung reassured fans that the club is following the correct procedures. 'I think what's important is that we're in the business of doing things that won't interfere with other clubs,' Motaung said. 'We want to follow certain procedures, and that relates to any other player we're looking at,' she added. Therefore, Chiefs will announce their next player signings as and when they are able to. 'So, we're taking a very professional approach in terms of integrating and bringing the players into the team, so we will make sure we only make announcements when the time is right – so watch this space,' 'But certainly, we can't be engaging on players who are still with teams or still contracted. Once there are any changes, we will make those announcements,' she concluded. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. In a candid press briefing at Naturena on Monday morning, she laid bare the club's ambitions, preparations, and unwavering belief that Amakhosi are on the brink of a new golden era — one stitched not only into their freshly unveiled jersey, but woven deep into the club's strategic DNA. The jersey launch was more than a nod to aesthetics. For Motaung, it represents a return to heritage and intent. 'It's bold, it's African, it's combat-ready,' she said of the new Kappa kit. 'The collar takes us back to our roots, while the African print sleeves say we're ready to fight on the continent.' The new Kaizer Chiefs kit for the upcoming season. Next Stay Close ✕ And fight they must — Kaizer Chiefs have their eyes set on reclaiming dominance not just locally, but across Africa. The pre-season tour to The Netherlands was, according to Motaung, a resounding success. Based in the quiet town of Apeldoorn, it allowed the technical team to bond and the players — both seasoned and youth — to connect on and off the pitch. 'The environment was serene, perfect for focus,' she said, praising the hunger shown by the youth players and the vital exposure to quality opposition. The tour also reaffirmed the club's international pull, with supporters travelling from across Europe — including Manchester and Berlin—to watch the team. Central to this season's build-up is the Toyota Cup, where Chiefs are set to take on Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko. For Motaung, this clash is not just a warm-up — it's a statement. 'It's very important for us to win,' she asserted. 'It sets the tone for the season. Every competition, every game is about winning — doing it the Chiefs way.' Off the pitch, Motaung also paid tribute to the club's founder and chairman, Kaizer Motaung, who was recently awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Cape Town. The wait is over! Our new Kaizer Chiefs X KAPPA 2025/2026 Home & Away Jerseys have arrived. Feel the Pride, Wear your Amour & Stand With Amakhosi! The Jersey Doesn't Just Play, It Represents!#Amakhosi4Life | #KCKappa | #KCJersey | @kappa_sa — Kaizer Chiefs (@KaizerChiefs) July 21, 2025 'It was a significant and emotional moment,' she said, praising his pioneering contribution to the business of football, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his commitment to a strong, sustainable local league. 'It's what's going to take our country forward,' she noted. Beyond the men's game, Chiefs have quietly but intentionally deepened their investment in women's football through a growing partnership with Springs Home Sweepers. 'They're young, passionate, and part of our family,' Motaung explained, confirming full commercial, administrative and technical support. 'This is just the beginning. We're playing our part in growing women's football.' On the transfer front, Motaung was tight-lipped, particularly regarding rumoured interest in players from Cape Town Spurs and Mamelodi Sundowns. 'We have a professional process. We'll announce when it's complete,' she said. 'Any new signings go through a full integration — on and off the field — into the Chiefs culture.' She also reinforced the club's commitment to being a truly national brand, confirming that while FNB Stadium remains their home ground, Chiefs will continue to play select fixtures at Moses Mabhida and other venues around the country. 'South Africa is our home,' she affirmed. Her message to the Amakhosi faithful was one of inclusion and gratitude. From sending supporters to Europe with Vodacom, to life-changing competitions with Toyota and SuperSportBET, the club remains intentional about giving back. 'Our supporters are the lifeblood of this club. We want them with us every step of the way.'

‘Players have to be given a chance': Motaung on Chiefs' striker signing Silva
Fans' scepticism was heightened by Silva's performances in Amakhosi's preseason friendlies in their recently-concluded preseason camp in the Netherlands, where the big striker looked clumsy on the ball. 'My take on the [new] players is this is preseason — players have to be given a chance,' Motaung said, asked about the social media chatter around the new centre-forward as Amakhosi launched their 2025-26 jersey at the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena on Monday. 'Whether they are coming from the youth, other teams or other places it's important to give them a chance to really get to know the team and different players they are playing with. 'Our supporters need to give them time. The proof is on the pudding. Let the players go on the pitch and do the work as the season progresses.' Silva will have a chance to prove himself more this weekend when Chiefs meet Ghanaian outfit Asante Kotoko in their preseason Toyota Cup clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday (3pm).
