'Mr Hamilton Accies' let go by club following relegation to League One
Scott Struthers had served Hamilton Accies for over 40 years
Hamilton Accies have parted company with club stalwart Scott Struthers.
The man who is referred to by fans as 'Mr Hamilton Accies' has held various roles at the club down the years and was most recently club administrator. He is a familiar sight at all Accies games and has worked for the South Lanarkshire side for over four decades.
However, Lanarkshire Live Sport can confirm he was dismissed by the board of directors last night via a letter sent by email.
His exit comes just weeks after the club were hit with a 15-point deduction for breaching mutiple SPFL rules and were relegated from the Scottish Championship as a result.
A former club secretary and one of the club's two historians, Struthers is also a UEFA match delegate and stadium inspector with an in-depth knowledge of the game, but Accies will no longer utilise his expertise going forward.
Accies are in the process of moving to Cumbernauld's Broadwood Stadium this summer after announcing the are leaving New Douglas Park, their home for the past 24 years which is not owned by the football club.
