"Around 1.30pm, the three of them told me that they were heading home. "I had dozed off, but around 2.30pm I received the news that they had been involved in a crash," he said when met at the Forensics Department of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital here today. His three friends, Muhamad Habil Mohd Sobri, Mohammad Fahmi Mohd Jamil and Muhamad Arif Aifan Derani – all aged 19, had perished in the 2.30pm fateful incident. All of them were close friends and currently in their second semester of the Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Technology (Welding). Hanif said he had shared a dorm room with Arif and Fahmi, while Habil stayed in a room on the upper floor, but often came by to study together with them. He said the night before was the last time they had all slept in the same room, and none of them showed any unusual behaviour. "I feel a deep sense of loss and sorrow because they were more than just classmates. We always joked around together in the dorm," he said.
